  1. I run a 225 45 17 front and 245 40 17 rear. I think I could get the car lower with 15 inch wheels but they would not fit my brakes.
  2. Front end issues are probably suspension related. How are the bushings? How are the shocks? Lift the front of the car off the ground and check for play/movement in the steering and suspension. I have no idea on the other problem.
  3. What year is your car? The 240 Z's had about 3 different manufactures of the dash. All 3 vary slightly at the round chrome air vents on the far right and left. I went to the junk yard with my dash cap and found a dash that fit my cap. It looks great now. Before I did this, I had about a half an inch difference at the cap and dash interface at the vents.
  4. In a year, this will be the best move you ever made. I bet you'll be saying, why didn't I do this sooner.
  5. Life is a series of hoops and gates. Some are harder to get thru than others. Sucessful people have learned how to negotiate these obstacles. Jump thru the hoop and move on.
  6. I also have one of these. It is a very nice piece and looks great in the car. I'm not using the heater controls (track car) and the mounts were pretty simple to make. Autometer gauges look great in the dash. THe car is still in the making so the dash has never seen the light of day. I would imagine if glare was a problem, a flat paint, black or other wise would, solve this problem.
  7. Nice work. Was this before during or after the case was emptied?
  8. My panasports that do not have a DOT stamp on them (for track only) are very light and thin when compared to a street wheel. One good size pot hole and they would be bent BIG time.

    Wow

I can appreciate the level of detail. I'm sure alot of that stuff (seat belts) is for show only. He definately loves his VW.
  10. If it runs, it should be fine to feed a surge tank.
  11. Impressive looking parts. I'm envious of your skills.
  12. This was posted by another member on another thread. http://www.emachineshop.com They do sand castings and just about anything else.
  13. I've got a link at home for a company that does this type of thing

  15. Dr hunt, With all due respect, I don't need any help parenting. My concern is the crap on this board that is usually not here. Warning or not safe at work is fine with me.
  16. I let my kids look over this site, they like the pics and maybe even learn a thing or two. I look at this site at work and don't worry two much about the content. These two posts don't belong here. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=104369 At least change the heading on this one http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=104348 I'm not a prud, I just don't come here for this.
  17. I would try another wire. But i have been known to fry electrical components. It sounds like you have 12 volts going to a ground and it is popping the fuses.
  18. Try just using 12 volts (fused) to the lock up wire on the tranny. If you are still popping the fuse, it's tranny wiring. If the fuse holds, it's your wiring. Also, check again to make sure you are in the right pin hole. Good luck.
  19. The guys that did the metal work on that car are amazing. Look at the build pics. It beats the hell out of anything I could even think of doing. My kids would go nuts over that car. Of course, I'm trying to teach them better.
  20. Looks awesome, hope to see it on the road soon.
  21. If you plan to do paint and body work on this car and don't care if it gets the odd scratch or bump then I would leave it uncovered. I have one of those nice breathable covers and my car is still musty smelling after being covered for a few months at a time. Leave it uncovered if it is your garage. Has it been uncovered in a garage for the last 14 years? If so, I think you need to continue doing what was done for the last 14 years. JMHO
