  2. If this is for a fuel injected engine, mount it near the tank. Those pumps don't like to lift fuel. I made a mounting plate from some aluminum sheet and placed it between the tank and the rear valence panel. Mounted the pump to that. It will give you plenty of room for the pump and filter. Sorry, no pictures. I did have to drop the tank to get everything up there. Once in place, it is out of sight and well protected.
  3. Dr. Sideways is one of the few instructors I have had that I LOVE to have in the car with me. He knows the track and knows how to teach the skills I don't have. I still laugh at the thought of him in my car saying gas gas gas and me looking over at him and saying, Alan, that is all it's got. What a hoot!
  4. No side windows. No interior, no door guts, just seat and fiberglass dash. I'll eventually go with a rear hatch from John Coffey. Cage will not get installed until I get the seat. Should be in January. THanks for the kind words.
  5. Front end too busy. Change the wing to a lip. JMO. I can't draw stick people.
  6. John, That sux big time. I'm looking at the adds for a trailer. I'll keep an eye out for 32 foot tags. Hope YOU find the bastard that took it.
  7. I also used the jtr tranny mount. It seems like it will work well with my application.
  8. Looking good. I like the vette mounts on your crossmember. I used similar biscuit mounts on my set up. Very nice documentation also. What did you do for a tranny mount?
  9. OK OK... maybe I was just having PMS that day. Very nice ride.
  10. You can MIG weld with argon on steel but it will splatter more. Mixed gas is much neater on steel.
  11. I still remember my first few track days. One of my most memorable moments was when I realized about on the second or third event there really are corner workers out there. Spent too much time looking 6 ft in front of the car. One of the best lines from an instructor was " you are dancing with a 2500 lb woman and you need to know how to lead with just you finger tips and toes. Still working on it. Track days are the most relaxing thing that I do with my clothes on. (strange I know) I only think about what I'm doing and not about work etc, etc. Can't wait to get back out there. Nothing like dancing with the fat lady thru the up hill esses at VIR at 100+. Occasionally I'll even get it close to being right.
  12. Spring is my goal. Now I've got to get off the computer and go do something.
  13. Incredable progress. Can't wait to see more updates.
  14. Finished plumbing all the H20 lines and the dry sump. Cranked a few times, oil pressure jumped, put gas in it and she runs. Dry sump works like its supposed to. Only one leak, my brand new water pump, go figure. The weekend is young. Maybe I'll get something else done.
  15. You guys are too smart. Makes my head hurt. I took my stock gauge apart and made the E and F and the F and E. That's how cave men do it!!
  16. Another seat option would be a custom built seat. I shop here in Concord NC (butler built) will build a seat to your measurements for under 400 bucks. Thats the route I'm taking. 6'4" and 200 lbs fits no stock seat.
  17. Could be, but the center section is the correct length for the hatch.
  18. No pics but the end pieces were at least a half inch higher than the center section and didn't fit the rear quarter at all.
  19. The suction of the pump will pull stuff toward the pickup. If you just open a line and let it run, no junk get sucked up. Take the dampner out of the loop and run the car with out it. I've never ran one with a FI car. Easy to tell if that is the problem. It may save you from taking the tank down.
  20. Mike, I feel for ya. Mine only has tail lights, gauges, a start botton and the ecu and associated wiring. It still took me way too long to get it all wired.
  21. I've got one. The fit sucks on the one I have. It would take hours and hours to get it to fit right. If you want it, just pay the shipping charges.
  22. Also check to see if the cowel drains are working correctly and not just dumping water inthe floor. Should be a tube about 1.5 inches in diameter that runs down from each side of the cowel and makes a quick 90 degree turn toward the fender. Easy to check with a garden hose.
