  1. so the toyota calipers only work for the Z's not the ZX's? If this is true then I'm glad I found out before I bought some. Also if this is true back to sqaure one. I guess I'll just get OEM calipers performance pads and stainless lines.
  2. does the 87 4x4 caliper bolt right up though without modification or accessories?
  3. You don't want to live in Japan bro. Its expensive as hell to live over there. Kinda like Cali but worse. Small cars are eco friendly and easy to drive around but they are also cheap. Most Japanese that come here are quite wealthy because they were accustomed to the sucky price of living in Japan, but are much better off in our low price of living environment.
  4. Sir Daniel, The blue on your Z looks very similar to Daytona blue. You've seen my design drawings. Do you think that with car Daytona blue the hood will look really "racey" black with the special stripe I've created. I may have found a guy that can paint my car for fairly cheap like the design until later (6 years or so) I can have the radical body work done. Good Idea since my current paint is oxidized and peeling away. It'd look better than it does now thats for sure. Plus he said he'd remove all the dents! Also Daniel, what kind of muffler are you running. Looks similar to mine. I've got an APEXi N-1 Turbo muffler (aka rice/bumblebee muffler).
  5. The toyota calipers everyone refers to are the calipers off a 1987 Toyota 4x4 right? Do these calipers bolt right up without any modification or additional plates to my 1979 280zx? Thanks for your consideration and great replies, much better than got-z ever was?
  6. wouldn't it be cheaper to have a custom madrel bent exhuast made with flanges and gaskets ready to go out the door.
  7. 3" is plenty. Not to get off subject but the 1400HP twin turbo supras have only 3" exhuast. Anything bigger is for semis, diesels,or simply big trucks.
  8. sounds legit and makes sense on a physics perspective of it. I can actually use that knowledge(physics) for something already. NICE.
  9. go with a 2.5" inlet/outlet muffler. I have a 3" inlet/outlet (with 4" tip)(APEXi N-1 turbo) but I'm planning for a turbo. I should have gone maybe with 2.5" piping since the turbo(s) is/are at least 6 years away (college has priority over input to my car). It's probably be louder and moere suitable to my situation.
  10. well I don't want a run of the mill engine. Maybe have the L28 cast in aluminum.or one guy said it would be possible to mill an engine block out out of solid aluminum via CNC machine. bigger intake holes larger exhaust holes bored to 3.1L. the possibilities are endless when you go that custom.
  11. ah man that blue is nice. On the 350Z does the Daytona blue paint have like some sparkly stuff in it or is that just something Nissan chips in to make it look gorgeous. Does your paint have that nice sparkle (glitter look) to it up close?
  12. do you have any pics of that 240 by chance. I'm interested too, to see what else this Z is hiding, or got.
  13. oops Still do you have any bigger pictures of the white 240Z John?
  14. whoa 16x12. Thats big. I'm lookin to find a company that makes a seven spoke wheel. 17x12. Similar to the new style of wheel offered by Enkei. RS7. Although they don't make this size.
  15. darn seven spoke rims are hard to come by. HRE and Fikse have nice wheels and nice customizing options but not the seven spoke style I'm looking for.
  16. Billet specialties is to bling bling for me/ I want racing rims a with a polished aluminum lip. CCwheels look just like BBS wheels. Thanks for showing me though. I don't want chrome. Know of any other 3 piece makers, Japanese maybe?
  17. is that kit custom made? I'venever seen it before. Looks kinda like a Stillen style type of kit.
  18. your car has that drift/rice look to it. I do think it is for your roof though. Rally racers usually cut a hole in the roof and put one of these on. They put a filter on it though to keep dust out. Helps ventilate those cramped little rally cars if I'm not mistaken. John post a bigger picture of that white 240Z. I want to see those rear flares in more clarity.
  19. post a pic of OLE Blue. I found the paint code it's Nissan B17. Just in case anyone else wants to use this color.
  20. got any pics od the wheels? I think sticking to the stckoffset would be best. That is what the car wasdesigning to handle originally. Personally I think adapters is a bad way to go. Think about if you are going to change your brakes you have to take the wheels off the adapters off then the brakes. Plus you lose some structural integrity and they are extra hard on the studs I'd think. 7.5" wide should be ok, but I'm no pro, wait to hear from someone else. If you allow yourself enough backspacing you can use any width wheel!
  21. I'VE NEVER HEARD OF FIKSE OR HRE I'VE HEARD OF THE OTHER TWO. IDON'T THINK KINESIS MAKES THE STYLE I'M LOOKING FOR. BBS DEFINENTLY DOESN'T MAKE THE STYLE I'M LOOKING FOR. SOMETHING LIKE THIS WILL DO OR THIS
  22. I have an APEXi N-1 turbo model. 3" inlet no tapering inside (3" straight through)with a 4" tip. I've got straight pipe and it really isn't that loud until high RPM where it sounds like a GT race car. I love it. Would like to turbo the engine, it would clean up the idling sound (sounds like a harley at idle). Supposedly these are top of the line. I paid $150 for it. Watch for curbs though. The rear weld is coming undone though. I hate when My mom drives my car. It only sits like 4-5" off the ground and the car needs new springs so she bottoms out going up the curved curb to the driveway and scrapes the muffler even when it's sitting as high up as possible. Thus breaking the rear weld. I need to weld it back together. Only like a 3/4" separation.
