  1. Sweet. I've got my fingers crossed for you man. NIce to know someone is Karma conscious other than me. My friends steal stuff from the junk yard all the time. I pretend I don't no them at times. Big stuff to. Distributors, throttle bodys, lights, they chuck it over the wall andtake off with it.Cheap skates. I don't like to rip people off. IT'S THE GOLDEN RULE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.
  2. This is a little wild but is 650HP do able with a seriously modded L28. I'm talkin as if the L28 is milled out of Aluminum, and twin turboed (T3/T4 turbos). Would that be to much power to drift with?. How nice it would be to blow by a GT3 or Lambo in a 280ZX. Worthy of drooling if you ask me.
  3. If you have two turbos do you need two intercoolers?, or do you route the pipes together into one before entering the intercooler and after leaving the intercooler?
  4. how wide is the impeller opening on that T3/T4? I think two of those on my dream L28 would work quite well.
  5. I guess this was a stupid question. I can just ask the parts guy at my dealership. I work for one of the Nissan dealerships here in town. Thought I'd ask here first though cause maybe someone has already painted their 280ZX this color, and that way I could see how it looks.
  6. What do you think of this rally scoop offered by MSA. It goes on your roof right? it's made of carbon fiber. Here's the link http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=7BSA also here's a carbon fiber hood by MSA
  7. What is the paint code for the Daytona Blue on the 350Z? I'd like to paint my car that color.
  8. those flairs are kinda small. I think its these/ and these/ or these/ and these/ or the second one and the third. can you see the pics? If not here's the link to them/ http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=7BSA
  9. I dunno man. I'm not very good with paint codes. Does anyone know the paint code for the Daytona blue used on the 350Z?
  10. I still need t oget batteries for my camera. I was bored the other day and redesigned my interior up front. Here's the redesign for the rear that I did a while ago. Crazy sound system. How a few changes to make to it though. I now want to include a simple chromed/aluminum roll cage to the ensemble. can you guys see the picture? If not click on / link, takes you to the pic http://hybridz.org/nuke/modules.php?op=modload&name=coppermine&file=displayimage&pos=-1175[/img]
  11. CNC machined wheels would probably be big money, huh. I wonder if I called the wheel company (Enkei,Motegi,Koenig,or Volk) and requested a custom wheel size, they would make it for more. Anyone ever done this before? Also how big of a tire can fit on a 12" wide rim, in mm? 10" wide rim? Does Volk have a website? I can't seem to find it. I know they have many oddball sizes available. Secondly does anyone here have a version of Autocad/3DVis? With the look and width I'm going for those adapters would have to be huge. If I'm not mistaken the rims will have a little negative offset. (deep dish) I looking to have that nice polished lip similar to what is seen on Japanese drifting cars. Probaly like 5" of lip in back and 2-3" in front.
  12. I don't want to add metal where it isn't necessary. NO ADAPTERS!!. I might go five lug id there's a hub conversion. Would this make hunting any easier?
  13. can't wait to see pics of how it turns out. Your not on a waiting list are you to get your stuff painted?
  14. What kind of car do you have. Maybe discount tire could help in measuring haw much backspacing is necessary for any wheel on your car.
  15. Are there any companies that you guys no of that a make wheel similar to the KONIG Next or MOTEGI RS7 in size 17"x8"-12"? With the four inches of backspacing or what ever is neccessary to clear the 280ZX suspension.
  16. A new e brake system would be good because the stock 280ZX e-brake doesn't do much of anything for me. It doesn't create a firm enough halt of the car when used. Newer cars have much better e-brakes that can actually stop the car fairly quick. My e-brake is really only good when not in motion. It'll hold the car still on a hill but that is about it's maximum capability. About a a year and a half ago I had a guy pull out in front of me. I hit the brakes and pulled the e-brake and to be quite honest I don't think the e-brake helped at all! Hope you find a good solution to this Juan. I do think that a hydraulic system would be a good route to take versus mechanical.
  17. dunno about the flares. They look custom to me. if not they were molded into the body. They look kinda like the ones MSA offers. they require custom installation.
  18. I was thinking that is what it was. Now what exactly causes dieseling?
  19. Can a non-turbo engine have a detonation problem? Occasionally when I turn my car off, it chugs, continues to cycle for a second or two, on its own after turning the ignition off. Could my exhuast system cause this, because it is much larger than the stock unit? Is this bad?
  20. that was very enriching information. Can a non-turbo engine have a detonation problem. Occasionally when I turn my car off, it chugs, continues to cycle for a second or two. On its own after turning the ignition off. Could my exhuast system cause this, because it is much larger than the stock unit? Is this bad?
  21. thats awesome? This info makes my dream engine seem more and more realistic. I'm planning in the future afeter (4-6yrs=college) to get an L28 either cast or milled in aluminum bored to 3.1L or if bigger is possible I will go bigger . Custom intake manifold . Either modified P90 head or custom head ported and polished or simply milled with bigger intake inlets . Forged pistons...etc. You know the whole 9 yards. There will custom written all over my Z. From the engine to the interior to the exterior to the suspension. Trying to set a foundation of ideas to build on first though. Doesn't cost anything to think, but time.
  22. Juan, Hopefully I can eventually use my three years of training on CAD, and 3DVIS. These were probably the two most valuable classes I took in high school. I just graduated this year. I'd post the animation I made this year that I did in VIS but my teacher forgot to burn all of our work to CD's and give them to us like he said he would. My skills with CAD and VIS earned me the title for which I was awarded for, Drafting student of the year, out of like 300 drafting students. (my high school was big, 3000+ students(I live in Las Vegas what do you expect)). (I'm not asking for a job just telling you meaningless info for the heck of it) Sorry to get off subject but in the future I'll be considering a five lug conversion with bigger (12"or>) brakes and four pot calipers, along with coilovers when I find'em for my 280ZX. With the quality I see in your products your at the top of the list as far as I'm concerned. Here's a weird question. Are CNC machines capable of milling and L28 engine block (bored to 3.1L) out of a solid Aluminum block?(I not asking you to do it, I'm just curious to know for future reference)
  23. Is six years really rushing it. I've got loads of time to think these parts over. Enough time to change my mind a million times over. Design redesign, rethink, ask ?'s, anwers ?'s, create ?'s for those ?'s, change my mind again....etc. I call my Z's future The 30 year plan . There's no knowing how long it could take to do. Doesn't necessarily mean it'll take that long though. I was told the other day by a customer that his brother-In-Law is an automotive designer for Ford ands makes $300,000 a year. If I made half that I'd be good to go on this project.
  24. because it wouldn't be Nissan. It's either Nissan, Aftermarket parts,or custom. No other car manufacturers parts are going on my car. I enchance the word picky
