  1. alright I've got a couple of questions/ ideas that I couldn't seem to answer by searching. #1 Can you stroke and bore an engine? If so can you bore a L28et to 3.1L and then stroke it? Would stroking only require longer rods or a new crankshaft as well? #2 If you bored and stroked the motor, and ran twin T03/T04 turbos would you get good horsepower? (with intercooling, adjustable wastegates, electronic boost control, and dual blow-off valves both recirculated through the intake) Would there be a lot of lag? #3 If all of the above was done along with head work on a P90 along with uprgraded internals, what kind of horsepower would be possible roughly Could it be run on pump gas (91 premium octane)? Street Legal? If I could do this someday I think it would make for an awesome daily driver.
  2. anybody else have a opinions or comments about this design, or how I should change if it needs it?
  3. I don't think I've ever seen anyone use those, I always thought they looked better then the flat boring ones, more geometry to'em.
  4. Still a small majority of the kits improve aerodynamics (usually the less fancy ones). The ones with bulgy scoops and awkward angles I agree on though.(veilside, blackwidow, to name a few) They probably reduce the aerodynamics of the car, all show. Here's my question why did many people with muscle cars like to lift the cars 10" high in the air. That would just be asking for drag, The air has more room to bounce air around and cause drag versus being 4-5" off the ground controlling the air more.
  5. how wide are those flares from the car width ways. 2"......4"?
  6. steveo it looks somewhat similar but is more ferrarish. What ever floats your boat. I guess those fog likes just make it look completely different to me.[/u]
  7. I agree with him, replace it.
  8. well there you have it probably +12.7mm or less offset would be your best bet. Cutting it any closer than 1/4" is to risky I think. +15mm doesn't sound like it would work unless you plan on rubbing against the spring .
  9. Okay I have a couple of questions that I couldn't find answers to by searching. #1 HOw exactly do you get a premade cage or even a homemade cage in and out of a car? #2 Now that I think about I'm not sure how Ihave my future cage made. I want my car to be all purpose. Drifting, dragging, AutoX, and even audio comp, and show. Here's the thing I want to design or have designed a roll cage that is removeble fuctional, and can co-exist with a full interior. The cage will if possible be chromed or painted the same colr as the car. Any ideas on how this would be possible. The msa offered roll cages don't seem serious enough for what i'll be doing. Keep in mind to that this will be a daily driver. I not to worried about ride quality though. Hinged or removeable doors bars I think would be a nice thing to integrate into the cage. Also this is for a 280ZX 2+2 Any suggestions would be nice because right now i'm a little clueless on the installation part.
  10. tim os running +12.7mm offset so +15mm is a little to much maybe. Tim how much clearance is a little bit?
  11. Sorry to speak against you but in reality the new japanese cars have much better aerodynamics and have smoother slicker bodies. Most cars from the muscle car era were actually more aerodynamic backwards. Seems weird but it's true, heard I come right out an automotive engineers mouth on television.
  12. If you ask me I think that the 350Z looks better than that drawing as far as looking Z-ish. That drawing looks like a JAG thus gicing NISSAN a reason to chuck it.
  13. I'll try to come upwith more ideas. Not quite sure what else to do to the Z unless I follow a theme, but then again thse aren't quite so original..TO me they say I made my car look like a ferrari cause i can't afford one....thus making it a wanna be. NO Z wanna b's in my book, sorry
  14. To bad there aren't more people like you me that respect other peoples creations the way we do. Thanks for caring.
  15. I think I know what your saying hanomon. But i'll do a drawing and we'll see if were on the right page and if everything works out right as you think.
  16. Sure man, you can use it on your desktop, but just don't take credit for my design.
  17. Actually I was critizing (sp?) their drawings' date=' and doing my own drawings. I must admit though in a the last 2 years I came a long way as an artist. to put it simply, my designs used to make every car I drew look like the car was on 50" rims. Those designs I did then weren't quite as good as the S30 design I showed up ^ . Also that Vanquish is such an awesome car, and I must say that remodel job make those wide-body 1400hp Supras look like ants on the sidewalk. Very nice. Not to mention low to the ground. Think about it, say you trip on the sidewalk or somethin lookin at it, and while your sitting there on the ground next to it to look over at it and see that well your lookin right through the window (while your sitting down). I'll be honest I've had the luxury (of owning one (yeah right!)) of seeing and [u']touching[/u] all the cars in the aston martin lineup when I got sent to the local ASTON/Jag/Porsche dealership to pick up a JAG. Also nothing like touching a GT3 and getting paid for it. (I work for Planet Nissan in Las Vegas(detailing))
  18. wow there are a lot of artists at this site. How many lefties?I'm one
  19. Tell me what you think. The design is similar to that of my 280zx design.
  20. shame on NISSAN fo making the 280ZX and the older Z's look boring at the racetrack. Course they didn't have the resources and technology we have today.
  21. I think that was the original design idea for the 350Z if I'm not mistaken. I still want the the car to noticeably look like a 280ZX. Not some completely different car (just brought up to the 21st century looks and technology). If I wanted a seriously drastic change I'd be better off designing the next gen Z.
  22. my problem is that I don't really enjoy drawing cars that already exsist (sp?). I'm a concept car dude, I like to make cars up from scratch. Maybe I should do a cartoony drawing of the 240Z first, seems to work with other pre-exsisting cars I draw. My car drawing frenzy didn't really take until 8th grade, prior to that I did planes (futuristic planes). Didn't have a real passion for it so I started the cars. Maybe if I didn't worry so much about getting details right I'd be better at drawing these "real" (Z's)cars.
  23. pretty nice, you got skills, and I thin more esperience drawing than me. I like the 360 theme. It would be cool to see on a Z. I'm going all out (someday) doing a modernized wide body kit. The drawing needs some refining on the curves (hard to shade decently with crayola pencils). I'd better start doing these kits in black and white (see curves better). Keep the sketches coming, I know I will once I finally can get the lines of the 240Z right. I got the 280ZX down I think.
  24. Dang man you draw better than me. Take some classes in college or something or did you just start over many times. The drawings below thisare about as good as mine get at the moment plus I'm only 18 years old. I'm diggin your sketches man. I keep having problems trying to draw a 240Z (mostely on the windows). I mean you get those lines merely perfect. I wish I could draw that nice. Guess I need more practice.
  25. Tell what ya think. It's a full out modernization. Everyone does either a restoration or mild modernizing, how about a full out modernization?
