  1. hha, wow, that was a lot of diode information!! so because a rectifier diode prevents current, they are suitable for the application, correct?
  2. ah yes, that was the last run i saw (your 3rd, i believe?). i noticed you pulling hard on that guy and you had a pretty sweet reaction off the line, too.....
  3. thanks guys! i'll PM you guys about the trannys mr. dragonfly - which car was it up against (your fastest time)? i saw you run thrice....
  4. since you're still designing, why not add a second set of injectors? like sequential.... one for better atomization one for direct fuel
  5. some good runs there tonight! MAN there were some fast cars there..... i forgot to ask you, do you know anyone around that's selling a 5 speed tranny?? should probably start a new thread, but i'm lazy
  6. sweet. i don't know much about diodes, so a rectifier, zener, etc is all greek to me.

thanks for that information! ya, i must have brain farted on the fact that farms require petrol to operate my dad had a '78 malibu that ran on propane. i don't recall it having much power, but then again those late 70s GM V6s are anemic at best! i always thought that CNG was a lot more indepth of a conversion, though....
  8. excellent! i just picked me up some rectifier diodes from my store (2.5A 1000V...can we say overkill?? ) and hope to get the wiring taken care of before i get the alternator (car is apart). does anyone think that a "rectifier" diode will be a problem when compared to any other ol' diode?

well, i suppose the "why" could be running fantastic compression on a renewable fuel. at least that would be my reasoning behind switching to e85/ethanol. doesn't ethanol run cooler, too?
  10. i may stop by there so i can check out your battery relocation (i've been meaning to call you up to do so anyway) Jason

from what i heard, unless the vehicle is "flexfuel" (or comparable), the ethanol will cause the rubber and other gaskets to deteriorate. also, i think lubrication may be difficult because of the solvent properties of ethanol. i'm always open to corrections in my information.....
  12. even alignment, suspension bushings, wheel imbalance....
  13. daniel, that's great! we have 50V 1A diodes for 69cents for the pair sku is 276-1101 of anyone cares
  14. i just picked up a brand new, tested optima redtop (800 CCA) from craigslist for $100. the reason i bought an optima is because i am running higher compression and am relocating the battery to the rear; so higher CCAs are somewhat important to me. also, since they are GEL cell, they will not leak acid, and because they are sealed they will be LESS likely to emit hydrogen gas (they can if overcharged) than a standard lead acid battery.
  15. this is a great thread. keep up with the good work justin! i must subscribe to this thread for when i convert to EFI
  16. welcome! nice car....
  17. actually, there was no sarcasm intended! i am a radioshack store manager, and MY store doesn't have these diodes. i have access to a better database to reference in-store stock, and i was offering some assistance. PM me your zip code and i will try to help you out. if worse comes to worse, i'm actually doing this mod myself here in the next few weeks and plan on picking up a set or 2 of these diodes from a store local to me..... and you are right, my mistake, it is a 2-pack
  18. that's not rust, it's NOS oxidation. very "are"
  19. i would recommend using those diodes simply for the fact that it's tried and true. other people on this forum are using other diodes with success, however. at any rate, the radioshack sku for the diodes you mentioned is 276-1143 and the price is $1.49 for a 3-pack. of you like i can find out where the closest store that has them in stock is.....
