  1. For bad streets in San Diego there sure is a lot of street racing going on down there My question is, will I be able to keep the front and rear strut tower bars with these adjustable plates? Owen
  2. That Spruce catalog has a lot of sh*t! Quad combo gauges look pretty cool! The Pete and Jakes series from Classic Instruments had some combo gauges is I remember correctly. I think I passed on these because I didn't like the way the needle looked. http://www.classicinstruments.net I've seen a GTR with 3 smaller gauges (one size smaller than what fits in our dashes) mounted to the rear view mirror. Looks pretty cool. I think I have that picture somewhere. Owen
  3. For the singel wiper arm, what wiper motor is being used? I want something that moves a little faster than a snails pace... Owen
  4. I think the Jim Cook Racing catalog had a picture of this, but last time I talked to Sandy Cook she said it wasn't available and they were trying to come up with something else. Owen
  5. I'm most likely misinterpreting your question here, but you're saying a vacuum is created in the exhaust side when the TB is closed? I'm sure the turbo slows, that's what turbo lag is. As for the vacuum, I don't think it would be a total vacuum since air in constantly being bled in, even at idle...what was your question again?? Sorry, nevermind... Owen
  6. Some guy on zcar.com emailed me pix of his brackets recently. He says theyre for the earlier ZX brakes but the pictures definitely showed an offset bracket, is he right and I'm wrong? I didn't post his pics but you can contact him. http://www.zcar.com/forums/read.php?f=1&i=187879&t=187606
  7. BTW. Top Secret is the shop that made the gold GTR in the Shin Wangan Midnight video. I've seen that Gold Supra at the AutoSalon, pretty sweet with that RB engine. So, in the Supra vs. Skyline debate, which is better, the Nur Spec Supra or the Skyline that came after it (R34?) Whatever the debate, you should only be comparing the engine YOU'RE getting, so what Nissan makes an RB26DETT if you can only afford the RB25DET? Owen
  8. Balance-wise the VG would be able to be placed back farther towards the firewall, which I think would be good for SCCA, etc. Owen
  9. Yeah I thought this was buried too, although I was the one who posted the pix! Mike was gone that week I got them and I just said screw it and traded them for new ones. Owen
  10. The tower bar is a Cusco unit (think that picture of the girl with the RX7, or is it the other way around?) showed the same strut bar. It cost me $180? because I had to get it ordered from Japan, but it gives me clearance under the hood and above the intake. http://www.homestead.com/s30z/files/engine2.htm The intake is a TPIS MiniRam2 (I think FastFrog has one also). Damn expensive! I'm still paying for it... Injectors are RC Engineering ?flowrate? I forgot...driven by Haltech E6K. Kevin, You have to copy and paste into the address window because the server doesn't allow cross linking. Owen
  11. Looks like it's just me and you I'm not trying to say I suffered (a lot), I did buy the calipers with the understanding that they were used. But upon seeing them I didn't think they could be used any more. I guess it's my fault for not asking for pictures and stuff. Wonder what could have caused the rusting? I bought a set of caliper rebuild kits just in case since they were only $5 each. Owen
  12. It's either my provider or something. Just click them, when they come up as errors, drag the link into that window. Or just copy and paste the address. Owen
  13. I used Pete's design and 0.120 because thats all they had. Man, those things are heavy though! Had a hard time welding the thin sheet metal floor to the thick subframe connectors. I think the ready made floor pans are ok but I already knew my T-56 + 3" muffler tubing took up a lot of room so I went with making my own floors. Owen
  14. Well, if business is conducted with someone on the site, whether good or bad, others have a right to know. I just wanted to show what they looked like so others would know what I was discontent about. Owen
  15. I would think 6 feet is long too. But oil coolers are mounted up front too right? I think Mike Kelly has his filter up front too. Oh well, if there's a problem it's not permanently mounted... Owen
  16. Hmmm, good point. But I wasn't planning any sort of major reinforcement, just changing the support to a removable one. Just an idea anyway. Owen
  17. This is how my intake tubing is setup. http://blake.prohosting.com/~s30z/intakefilter.jpg http://blake.prohosting.com/~s30z/intakefilter01.jpg http://blake.prohosting.com/~s30z/intaketube.jpg To mate the 3" round tubing to the 5"+ long diameter TB inlet, I used some kinda toilet rubber bushing/gromet thing that reduced a 6" pipe to a 3" pipe. Couldn't find a junkyard that had anything and didn't want to pay like $20 bucks for a new one. Copy and paste the hypertext into a new window. Owen
  18. Really strange...the link doesn't work unless you copy and paste it. But the links in my other post http://www.hybridz.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=6&t=000580 do work... I notice my signature picture doesn't show every single time either... no...the links don't work. I swear they did before...just copy and paste them please. I KNOW it worked when I dragged it into another window. [ May 06, 2001: Message edited by: Owen ]
  19. Thanks everyone, I got the hoses. But I'm using the brass fittings and clamps that came with it, the oil hose isn't high pressure is it? I mounted it here. http://blake.prohosting.com/~s30z/oilmount.jpg Owen
  20. These are shots of the calipers I received. As you can see the pistons look like ancient asteroid craters or something. These have since been traded in for new ones. http://blake.prohosting.com/~s30z/toycalip-old03.jpg http://blake.prohosting.com/~s30z/toycalip-old02.jpg http://blake.prohosting.com/~s30z/toycalip-old01.jpg Owen [ May 06, 2001: Message edited by: Owen ] [ May 06, 2001: Message edited by: Owen ] [ May 06, 2001: Message edited AGAIN by: Owen because he couldn't get the images to show] [ May 06, 2001: Message edited by: Owen ]

  22. Hey, someone's still awake too! I actually saw those on a Prelude. The girl driving it was damn fine though! Owen
  23. I know Mike Kelly changed his radiator support and someone else was asking a question on this to gain clearance for intake tubing. The very first time I pulled the engine, I thought, "damn, if this rad. support wasn't here..." So my question is, what if I were to just cut the support off and replace it with a bar that is removable? Sort of like a strut tower bar. This would make installing and removing the engine soooo easy! Owen
  24. Sweet! Can't wait to see the finished product. What books and stuff can you recommend, I wanna learn this too. Great, just what I need, another project... Owen
  25. Too bad you can't see her apex seals.... But seriously, a 20B would be nice, but how much torque would you have? A fun car should also be fun to drive, like at the intersection, struggling to keep the front wheels from lifting and landing on the back of the car in front of you But the most important thing is, if you wanna do it. DO IT! That's what makes the Hybrids so great, their innovations. Owen
