Ok, I think I understand now. Either that or you are all laughing at me. I'll have to make up some "Rio Vista" lingo of my own to so I can be cool too. Possible Rio Vista specific slang words: Wind Dust Way cold dude Fog Wind Way to plow man Wind Fish bait Strong tide Draw bridge Wind Sheep There now all I need are definitions. Am I cool yet?
  2. Stop that drooling! Now you have to clean your monitor. Sorry boys, it's not for sale.
  3. It's in paint (and body) jail now. But the judge threw the book at it. Could be there a while.
  4. Ya Teo, ver cool invention. Now can you make me a Makita powered drip coffee maker for the camper?
  5. Dick has actualy answered this several time if I'm correct. If the "search" is working that would be a good place to start. If I remember the valve covers are NLA. The air cleaner I believe can still be had, or maybe a very close copy.

Man, I'm old. I understood one of the last seven posts. I'm too embarrassed to ask for an explanation here. Somebody with feelings and sensitivity send me an e-mail. I hate being this far out of the loop.
  7. 3.90:1 means the driveshaft turns 3.9 revolutions for 1 tire revolution. Johns answer was exactly perfect, but maybe this is a little clearer. No offence, John. And welcome to the forums Dat260!
  8. Here's a pic of the Taurus fan on the Camaro radiator.
  9. As you can see from my sig pic, I support fiberglass body parts for the Z car. But I would tell you to talk to Kitcar Z if you want to buy molds. Just my humble opinion. I like there designs better.
  10. Side note: The 2000gt also came as a convertable. It stared in a James Bond movie. Wife says it was "You only live twice". BTW, I agree with Mike. Lockjaw has full rights to his opinion, and I support that fully. Just friendly disagreement. I'd say the same thing to my best friend.
  11. Lockjaw, you can't be serious. The 2000gt has to be in the top 3 of the most beautiful cars ever to come from Japan, maybe anywhere.
  12. Very sweet. This clearly answers the question, "Can this swap be done fairly easily?" No.
  13. 1.12 (1.125)= 1 1/8". This puts the JTR bracket at the same height as the original. Which has always made me wonder why they say to mod the hood side of the latch. Mine works fine with no mods.
  14. Carb, or FI? How much HP are you planning on. If you plan on running a carb with a mild V8 no changes are needed. If you will be using the 289 in your signature, you should be fine with the stock lines. Carb needs no return but FI does. FI also has special tank considerations. You need baffles or a purg tank to ensure you don't have fuel starvation. I never understood why the Z needed such a complex venting system. Lots of guys here simplify it. Any mods you do to your tank need to be done with care not to cause heat or sparks (loud noises and bright lights followed by nice people in medical smocks ), i.e. don't drill, grind, or saw.
  15. Yup, '70-'78 all the same. But don't be fooled, it only looks like wood.
  16. Wow Thurem, I can't believe my memory was so good. So is your car here in the US or Denmark? Can't imagine what shipping would cost. Not Centerline. They won't make 10" or wider wheels in four bolt. Billet Specialties They are the GT15 style. 15x8 & 15x10, 4 3/4" backspacing. I have coilovers and they are too close. I will space them out another 1/8" to 1/4". If I was asked I'd say go 4 1/2" backspacing. Here's a larger shot on the car.
  17. I do. But it's laying on the garage floor. Again, not very helpful.
  18. Greimann has a point. When I saw your pic of the slaves I thought, "Uh oh, too much fluid displacement". If you move more fluid through your aluminum master than your plastic slave will hold, the plastic slave will lose. Well, don't want to throw cold water on your long fought success. Try it for a while and just keep an eye on it. Keep your trips close to home for a while.
  19. Tomahawk Z, mine is cosmetic only. Underneath it I have a Hagen street rod cap and spout. The cap screws into the spout and has a spring loaded flap that allows you to just push the pump nozzle through to fill. This way I have a properly presurized FI fuel tank (it uses a separate two way valve off another vent line)and when I fill-up I just flip the cap and stick in the nozzle. Looks cool, works great.
  20. No problems with your brakes. Your braking with the wrong leg! Sorry, that wasn't helpful. And I told myself, "If you can't be helpful, don't post".
  21. The pitcures noot to bad carl. And dont wory abot the speelling. No body hear kairs abot speling. If yu dont be live me axe the tubo guys. Sorry, somebody should just me.
  22. Gas cap on ebay Same one I paid $150 for. Requires significant modifications.
  23. This problem is stating to drive ME nuts. And it's not even my car! Ok, lets evaluate this thing logically. All the parts from your left foot to the clutch fork are there just to more that fork. In the first thread you said the fork moves 1/2" to 3/4". The shop you took it to said 3/8" is all that is needed to disingage it. So, any problem is not in the hydrulics or pedal. Let's all focus on the inside of the bellhousing folks. There, I'm out of ideas. But at least let's not waste time troobleshooting the parts that are working properly.
  24. The company that made the SubtleZ hood is out of business. But it wouldn't have fit your ZX anyways.
  25. Ok, heres a thought: Did you have the clutch disk in backwards? Easy to do, don't feel dumb. Also, take the disk by itself and slide it onto the splines on the input shaft of the tranny. See if there is any binding. If we covered these things in the first post, sorry.
