  1. Did you try a search? http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=118142
  2. 730 hp. I think it's more for show than go. http://www.lateral-g.org/sandlin/Inciner8orSpecs.pdf
  3. I think ths issue reported by this thread was due to low fuel pressure which was resolved by installing the upgraded fuel pump wiring. The stock wiring may have worked fine for the stock pump, but the Walbro requires more power. I recently had another issue related to a coolant leak that may have taken out my Opti. I found a new genuine GM unit on eBay for $123 shipped that I will install to see if that really is the problem. If not I'll just have a relatively inexpensive spare.

    Hunsaker seats

They look very similar to the seats I just installed. As you can see it fits very tight at the wings, and the seat you listed is .5" wider than mine. http://www.bomzracing.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=965
  5. Well I checked my file and the coolant temperature sensor looks like its still working. The temperature started at 120 degrees and it was at 177 when I stopped the recording. From previous recordings, it looks like it was going into closed loop at 160 degrees. What else could prevent the system from going into closed loop?
  6. It looks like you posted two of the same pic's for the plastic covers as well as the new covers you fabricated. It's a little hard to tell for sure, but it looks like the one's you made look better.
  7. Jody,Thanks for the quick reply, I really appreciate it. The coolant temperature sensor in the head did go bad and I replaced it so that my gauge is reading correctly. So the one in the WP may also be bad, but would that make it run poorly as well? I'll look at my recording again, but I think it contains fairly normal coolant temperatures. I'm hoping that the Opti isn't having problems, but it feels like that could be the issue...again. The Opti is vented, but the coolant could have been dribbling on it.
  8. So I've been having some issues with my LT1 and it looked like just about everything was resolved...until now. It was running good and I was enjoying a nice drive when all of a sudden it started running a little hot. I thought it would come back down, but it didn't so I turned around and went home. It turned out a bolt on the electric water pump came loose and let the coolant out, so that was an easy fix. The problem is now it doesn't run very good at all, it feels like it's missing or the timing is off. I hooked it up to my laptop and made a recording and everything looks fine - except it's staying in open loop. Any idea of what could be the problem? Thanks, Bart

    Autocrossers?

I tried it with my LT1 powered Z and loved it as well. I've been making improvements (wider wheels, sway bars, Bad Dog framerails, etc.) and can't wait to try it out again. Here's a link to my vid with a little spin out
  10. Not sure if your alternator works the same as mine, but I have the exciter wire hooked to the ground side of a charge light on my dashboard (don't use an LED). The positive side is hooked to ignition hot. When the ignition is turned on the light is on, and when it starts the light goes off. My alternator won't charge unless the exciter is hooked up to power, and using the light lets me know that the alternator is working. Hope that helps.
  11. The driver's sdie seat is installed. All it took was two new holes on the exisitng brackets to account for the sliders being slightly farther apart than the stockers. The seat just fits with the wing touching at the door.
  12. I'm thinking that may be the best solution for me as well. Michael, That's why I'm planning on running my stock setup (well close to stock) as well as the racing harness. setup
  13. That looks pretty nice. It limits the strut bar choices, but perhaps a tube could be welded in between the harness connectors.
  14. I'm worried about the safety of a roll bar on the street. I'm on the tall side and I don't want to bang my head on it. From the pictures I've seen it limits positioning of the seats as well.
  15. So I'm in a similar position as Matt and I'm trying to decide what would be the best option for me. I recently purchased racing type seats, so a 4-point harness is now an option. So based on safety both on and off the track I’m thinking of keeping my 3-point belts for the street and adding the 4-point for the track. If I go with this option I need to figure out the best way to install the 4-point setup. 1. Use a PDK bar. I still haven’t heard if this is a viable option or not. 2. Weld in a single bar between the struts like Myron did. 3. Bolt on to strut bolt like hughdogz (I’d like to see a picture of that install). I don’t want to install a cage, as the consensus is that it isn’t safe on the road. So what’s my best option? If a 4-point system is the way to go I also need to figure out which system to buy.
  16. According to the manufacturer these weigh 28 pounds each.
  17. On David's install they mounted directly to his stock mounting holes, the only issue he has is that the passenger side wing touches the door when it's reclined at a certain position. I'll let you know how my installation goes.
  18. The fit, finish and comfort seem first rate. They probably aren't as nice as a Recaro or Sparco, but much better than cheap knock-off's. David went to the factory and got to see how they're constructed and he was impressed. Here's his quote from San Diego Z: Instead of standard foam, they use mattress-grade memory foam in the padded areas on top of heavy duty foam, so the cushion feels much softer to sit in than a standard racing seat. After you "sink in" there is still the firm support you'd expect out of a racing seat, but it just conforms a little better to your body (or at least, to mine).
  19. It's their vinyl seat. some people list them on eBay as leather seats, but they're not.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2x-BOMZ-Leather-Racing-Seats-Eclipse-3000GT-Lancer-Evo_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33701QQihZ024QQitemZ370017824158QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW In the details of this auction, they say "100% hand made from the highest quality vinyl leather", is there such a thing as "vinyl leather".
  20. Thanks to San Diego Z and HybridZ member Doc Hawk, I got a great set of racing seats for my car at a great price. David installed a similar set in his Z and they fit great, and hopefully I'll have mine installed this weekend. Here's a link to Bomz web site: http://www.bomzracing.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=74
  21. You could definitely go bigger if you wanted to. I'm running 18x9.5 on the back without any flares. http://mysite.verizon.net/ress1lhb/barts570z/id19.html
