  1. Looks like your doing it right and making good progress. It should look great when your done!
  2. We need to see some pic's of your car, especially when you get the wheels installed. I went to picturetrail, but there wasn't much there. There shouldn't be any problem getting the fronts to fit as I'm running the same size on mine. Like you said, the rears shouldn't need too much as far as flares go if you install them as far inward as possible. It should look good.
  3. I finally completed installing a new genuine GM vented Opti - and it runs great. I drove it around for a while and it's probably running better now than it ever has before. I jumped on it a little on a back road and man that put a smile on my face. It's almost too fast - but I think I can get used to it. I should be ready for the West Coast Nationals performance driving event in a few weeks and I'll find out how well the new wheels and sway bars work.
  4. To read the file you can use something like this: //read file short num = 0; FILE *ifp; if ((ifp = fopen("c:scores1.txt", "r")) != NULL) { fscanf(ifp,"%d",&num); fclose(ifp); } You can use fscanf as many times as you need to get all the values. You can read more about fscanf here http://www.cplusplus.com/reference/clibrary/cstdio/fscanf.html or plenty of other locations as well.
  5. I think this could vary between years and/or models. My PCM definitely provides ground to my relay and I add iginition hot from my Datsun harness to make it work. This thread talks about someone else that has a fuel pump relay that operates with positive signal from the PCM. It also has good information about how the system works that may help Bryan. Read post #9 from Ken (wheelman). http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=116522
  6. I'm pretty sure that on my 94 LT1, the PCM is providing ground for my fuel pump relay. I had a problem with mine when I first installed it, and it turned out I was providing power for it with a source that didn't have power while the engine was cranking.
  7. I installed an Optima battery using part of the passenger side tool bin and part extending out into the interior. It took some work to build a mount and cover, but I think it came out really good. It doesn't affect the space for the passenger as the seat can still go all the way back. I don't have any pic's to show you of my install. Prior to the Optima I used an Odyssey battery which actually fits under the passenger's seat. It worked out pretty good, but the battery isn't very powerful. I din't install a fuel cell, but I used a nylon LS1 tank and it allowed me to use dual exhaust as well. The tank works great and the fuel bucket with the fuel pump works great as well. You can see some pic's on my web site. http://mysite.verizon.net/ress1lhb/barts570z/id13.html
  8. It states right on the envelope that the plate came in that if you only receive one plate, that's all you need to use. How can I put one on the front if I don't have it? rudypoochris, or anyone else using their vehicles as daily drivers - I wouldn't recommend getting historical plates. As was stated you could get in trouble if something happened - like an accident and it was determined that you were on your way to work or something else not specifically covered under the provisions for obtaining these plates.

  10. I got my California Historic Plates a couple days ago. I didn't even go to the DMV or turn in my old plates. I filled out a form online and mailed it in along with a check for $25. A couple weeks later the plate came in the mail. I only got one, so that means I don't have to run a front plate either.
  11. How far off is it? Have you tried lifting the car in the center of the crossmember and seeing if it fits better that way? I didn't have any problems installing mine.
  12. OLD ZKL looks pretty cool. Don't go with NOTZTOK it sounds kinda Hitler like - NOTZ...NAZI
  13. Now the meaning of "fhptom" seems pretty clear to me. I don't know if the smoked lights would work with my plans, but it sounds like it could cause unneeded attention that I don't really want to attract.
  14. Congrat's! I still remember the first time, and I was as giddy as a school girl.
  15. They still look nice and bright lit up; good job.
  16. Looks great with your paint job. I'd like to see a shot of them lit up as well.
  17. Very cool, but I don't think the design would work well for a regular parking garage. It looks like there's a miaximum of two cars being stored or retrieved at any given time. There could be quite a line when it gets busy.
  18. OBDI and OBDII are two standards of On-Board Diagnostic Systems. Having OBDII will limit the amount of reprogramming that can be done to your system. Here's some references: http://www.akmcables.com/obdii.htm http://www.obdii.com/background.html
  19. Nothing major that I can think of off hand. If you run into problems you can probably find answers by searching this site. There are plenty of LT1 swaps completed by users here, so we've run into just about everything.
  20. SBC = Small Block Chevrolet. Both of the JTR manuals apply with the Datsun Z V-8 Conversion Manual giving you the installation basics and the Chevrolet TPi & TBI Engine Swapping manual giving you more detailed information specific to issues such as wiring. The JTR conversion parts will work on your engine:https://shell7.tdl.com/~jags/Datsun_Order.html
  21. What specific information are you after since your having someone else do the work for you? The LT1 is still an SBC so most of the information in the JTR manual still applies.
  22. I've been looking at that kit as well and would really like to hear from anyone that's using it. The price seems a little high, but may be worth it if it works well.
  23. Looking at this picture: It definitely looks like quite a bit of the outer part of the tire is not in contact with the pavement. Look at the shadow.
  24. Can you really guarantee this? I'm really curious, because I've read that you can get better traction by running tires recommended for your rim width then by running a wider tire that is recommended for a wider rim. Read post #8 in this thread regarding testing of different tire widths. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=112952
  25. Hey...are you making fun of my spinners again?
