  1. hmmm, having been in the same situation with some of my cars in the past, I'd suggest pondering that last statement you made for awhile stony before making a decision as radical and final as that. The difference between squandering away cash on a gamble and the car is that in the end you have a car rather than just and empty wallet.
  2. Depending on what you call serious power the t56 may or may not be the trans for you. Like you, I like a sports car to have a manual, but at the power that's in the boys z that isn't an option.
  3. He went to the dark side my friends, lured by the smell of texas tea and hot blonde women. The first thing he did was ditch the California plates cause everyone knows how texans hate californians. Then he subtly picked up the Y'ant too, Y'ant some, G'eet yet, A'right, Y'all, Y'all come back, Y'hear and various other texas lingos. His screen name should change to Bubba since he's in bubbaville, tx. Either that or rename his car bubbette. Well, Larry, at least your closer, there is a dragstrip there and who knows what else. Congrats on the move, I think and hope you find it to your liking better than where you were. Your a great friend!
  4. there is a z waiting in the wings that doesn't have an injected 502 in it?
  5. I always say the right hand don't know what the left hand is doing.
  6. To each his own, I just stick to sex 3 times a day myself.
  7. You didn't provide enough engine details and rpm range. But lacking that your going to look for either a victor jr or the performer rpm. carb selection may vary from a vacuum secondary carb to a double pumper carb from 650 to 750 cfm
  8. The htp is an awesome machine, light, uses less power and welds like a champ!
  9. Your question has been answered, no need to bump.
  10. Well, the trans leak is fixed, turned out that my new BTE race pump was cracked when the new stator shaft was pressed in. So, now I'll bring it home, finish wiring and installing all the doo dads and we'll give it a run to see how it does. Can't wait.
  11. Would love to ride in it. I'll be back, you can count on that.
  12. Dropped in to see Hanns. His car is truly amazing!!! I would look for some serious numbers from that combination. My guess is that the displacement alone added 75HP! Truly a nice car which matches hanns' personality, one of a kind, wish the world had more. Went to Larry's (Cozy Z Cole), picked up the 240 and several million other parts. Got back to NM this AM about 8 or so after driving all night. Well worth the trip, next time I'm taking a z.
  13. probably won't stay that long. Dan got me drunk, burp. Going to see Hanns in the AM and then up to larry's by the afternoon to pick up the z, then got to blast off and head back to NM.
  14. Dan is setting me up with all of his favorite strippers. Then it's off to Cozy's house, same thing, lots and lots of strippers. A dream vacation of sorts. Oh, then I woke up. See you guys soon and have some beer cold would you Dan.
  15. Pete has it right. Go with better rods. Eagle H beams can be had for $350 which is well worth it. Even the SIR's are better than stock.
  16. The lunati kits are top notch. 389 is the 3.875 inch stroker with a 350 bore. Really good combination.
  17. Pete, I have a C&S aerosol billet 800 alky carb with bypass log attached. If your interested in running alky. Comes pre-jetted and ready to run, no tuning necessary.
  18. IMO it depends on how hard or violent the launch is as to what front springs and shocks you want. My boy's z launches with the wheels up all the time. So, that being the case I want a little shorter spring with alittle higher spring rate for less stored energy in the front to minimize the wheelstands. That coupled with something other than the stock strut would be nice. Ideally you want the front wheels just barely coming off the ground if at all. Wheelies cost you time since it's energy wasted in picking up the front end versus moving forward. While impressive to watch and drive, it really isn't the way to go. WTF am I saying, they are fun as heck to drive and almost as good as sex.
  19. That's right folks, try 4.25 bore and 4.5 inch stroke monster LSX motor that can be built using the new bowtie block from GM for $1900. Designed for 2500HP!!!!! Things are definately going to get out of hand now!!! That's 510 cubic inches of monster small block chevy baby!!! http://www.sdparts.com/product/19166454/LSXBowtieBlock.aspx
  20. IMO, just leave the total seal rings for someone else to use. Go speed pro file fit, moly top ring, cast second or double moly. I like a finish hone of 500 grit or 550 grit.
