  1. Oh, the technically challenged will never end in their relentless ability to piss off those that are in the know. I'm sorry. Bigger, hang on, I'll take another pic. What is it to post the actual pic instead of a link wasn't it something like [image] pic [image] or something like that?

    New z dash

This is a quickie dash fab.
  5. I guess that's why some of my best times have been in the dark! Really though, that's a good idea, I was thinking flat black all along or the brushed finish.
  6. Uh, is that like a challenge the hard way?!!!
  7. I guess now that it's all done I can do that here pretty soon. Yeah, putting in a cage legal for NHRA pretty much screwed the already badly cracked dash. In fact I cut holes in it for the forward bars to go through the dash and down to the floor in hopes of retaining the dash for a more "street" look. But while racing it the last time the tach fell out of the dash to the inside and it quit working after that. Besides, I didn't like looking at my feet to see when to shift. So, after buying a new tach, I got to looking at the mounting and I just decided to rip it all out and build new. I used 1/2 inch square tubing between the cage bars and put a flat piece of aluminum with the right curve to fit just under the windshield rubber seal and be flat. Then I angled a piece of thicker aluminum plate to mount the gauges in. It comes down to the steering column level only and angles up towards the roll cage bar from the steering column, about the same on both sides. Made getting in and out alot easier IMO. It's not real pretty, but it'll work. I was going to brush the plate and give it that nice brushed finish, but I just don't have the time. I'll post pics later this week
  8. Then why do they make titanium connecting rods?
  9. I've seen the update manual for the 700R4 and it's quite extensive. It is my understanding that it will handle that level of power, however the newer 4L80E is stronger and retains the overdrive feature. I only do powerglides so I would suggest seeing a competent builder of transmissions. There is probably somebody else on this site that has valuable info to share.
  10. adjusting the secondary butterflies applies only if he has a newer carb, the old ones didn't have that adjustment.
  11. Got tired of the old cracked dash, ripped it out, fabbed a quickie dash with aluminum sheet just in time for SEZ. Was going to paint it but the body has too much bondo on it to mess with. So, it's a good thing that Desert dog located the 260z in Alb., since it has nice parts on it that'll bolt right on. Those old dashes are kind of heavy, I'd bet I shaved 20 pounds off the car!
  12. High school will become a distant memory, probably not worth remembering. College is where it's at, pleanty of new people and good friends. The distance won't sour a friendship as long as they were "real" friends, cause that lasts forever. Your worrying about something that you have no control over and that is really just life, your not the first one to feel that way and you won't be the last. We are all still your friends!
  13. sounds like it could be the converter or a trans problem, would have to drive it in person to get a feel for what's going on though, maybe somebody is near you and can help diagnose the situation.
  14. It won't matter if it's a mist or not, it will vaporize instantly when it enters the air stream. You have carb or EFI?
  15. Not to mention that those holley pumps are rated just above worthless junk.
  16. Damn, just the thought of what you said makes me smile from ear to ear! Work it BABY! Hello rotisserie, daddy's got a new toy.
  17. Paid him, got the title. He actually had it listed twice, once for 600 and got nothing but tire kickers and then again and got the same response. He's a toyota fart machine guy, not a nissan guy, but he was impressed with the hybridz crowd since he had gotten 3 calls, one from a guy in AZ, desert dog, and one from me, all hybrid z guys. Crap the glass is all there and it alone is worth more than $300. Anyone need l28 with round top SU's????? I'll give the engine and trans to any hybrid z'er that want's it, first come first get.
  18. should of bid a million. I tried 70M but ebay said it was too much. Go figure.
  19. I've gotta say that I'm impressed!
  20. Is that him bidding it up to 10K?
  21. OK, I got it. Going to pay him tonight, pick it up this weekend. Thanks dude.
  22. Jap Tin, Just give me alittle time. I'm going to buy a raised cam dart block, go for some cubes and get some better heads for the next z motor, then I'll come play. It'll be next year before I can get a car built like i want, but it'll happen this year if things go like they have been.
  23. If you can get an address, have the winning bid paperwork in hand and just show up with the law at his house, would be fantastic. Option 2, show up at his house with me standing behind you. Would be alot more fun.
