  1. If it's good enough for nascar, solid rear end that is, it's good enough for me!
  2. Funny you should ask about paint jail. In one week they did all the body work. The passenger door piller was smashed in, and the back quarter was the same, that's why the door wouldn't close very well, they fixed all that, replaced the passenger door, new hood, remounted the scoop, replaced both fenders, valence, took out all the dents on the roof and....................... YOU GUESSED IT! HAVEN'T TOUCHED IT SINCE AND IT'S BEEN OVER 2 WEEKS!!!! Paint jail is the real word that describes what's not happening. I checked yesterday, they are doing a chopped and channeled 55 chevy, a '42 ford, a dastun roadster and some other '55 chevy, so looks like I'm down the list cause the car isn't even in the shop, it's sitting outside and hasn't moved in awhile.
  3. Somebody flipped me off yesterday, so I guess that means I'm number one. Can that be accurately reflected in my rating somehow?
  4. This thread is such a waste of time to read and yes, to even respond to such stupidity. I can't believe that this is such a newsworthy item that you would think we'd like to see it or even ponder it. It's totally useless and that group of people have a collective IQ = 0 (that's zero)!!!
  5. If it's a sbc, you won't be able to pull the timing cover without dropping the pan alittle bit.
  6. I don't think the issue is with the diff itself, from what I know it's the connection between the diff and the wheel. The CV is apparently the way to go in that respect. However, with the 9 inch I don't have any issues at all!!!! I'm sure the 8.8 would be the same. It's a matter of choice, preference, time, capability to make the swap, and what you have lying around, etc. I'm not sure one is better than the other ala JNJ and ZGAD............We are all in the 9's!
  7. Yes, you could be experiencing vapor lock. A return style system is good, but the pump and the engine compartment heat is raising the temp of the fuel in the tank since it's circulating through the hot engine bay area. Also, with the return style, where is the return located? It must come into the tank from the top front of the tank and the pickup must be a the bottom rear of the tank. I have both plumbed on the rear of the tank and I get aeration and a loss of fuel pressure when the tank gets less than half full. Going to have to replumb the return to the top front of the tank facing down.
  8. Mike, I have a 30 by 40 shop and 3 garages and the shop seems really small but with good shelving and organization it's really, really nice. I'm going to pour a 6 inch slab next to it and put in a lift and enclose it as well so I can get my peterbilt on it to work on, not to mention the lift. An old man told me this once, and since I'm an old man, now you can say it too. If your willing to part with something that you really like, you will be able to experience alot of other things. If you aren't willing to part with that something you will enjoy "only it" for along time! So, that's the beauty of trading things off, it will allow you to enjoy other things, whatever they may be.
  9. You know that's a really good idea. I'd bet that I could start making the frame supports, buy the ladder bars, coil over kits and make the 9 inch rear ends as a kit for 240/260/280z cars. Would require removal of the spare tire well, fuel tank, installation of a fuel cell. Hmmmmm.
  10. I don't understand why ford made them so heavy, they weigh as much, actually MORE than my fully loaded with rollbar '85 Monte Carlo SS!!!!! Would have been alot more fun if they'd of been around 3100lb.
  11. Somebody is smoking crack if you think that mustang will do 10.5 in the 1/4!
  12. No, it's not you, everyone enjoys a gun that doesn't kick or that drives tacks. Better yet is one that doesn't kick and drives tacks. You can't be competitive with a gun that knocks the tar out of you period end of story. You'll develop a flinch whether you like it or not. H.F. Combs in Socorro, builds a custom three port muzzle brake, works better than any I've ever shot. $150 installed! They work, buy one, you won't be sorry!
  13. Good luck, keep us posted and call for help when you have to move something.
  14. It's hard to believe that the chassis guy working with the other guy had no clue. Simply unfathomable, birds of the feather flock together. The chassis guy can go down as an accomplice if he knew anything about it. Morover the shop and it's contents could be taken as evidence. It's up to you but I'd rather be safe than sorry, furthermore what's keeping you from contacting the authorities yourself and asking them the same question?
  15. Well, as far as actions go, the Remington 700 wins more competitions than all others period. I shoot benchrest and occassionally 1000 yard. The smoothest action you will ever shoot is the sako. I have a benchrest gun built on a L463 action with a canjar single set trigger, caliber 6.5-06, shoots in the .1's, wins alot of benchrest. Also I have a 700 in 6mmBR, wins alot too. 40xbbr in 6x47. I have browning, TC, weatherby, ruger, winchester, savage also. But if you ever shoot a sako, you'll fall in love with how smooth the action is and how infallable the feeding is, by far my first choice. Savage is an incredibly accurate rifle most of the time, simple and cheap too. M1 garand is a good rifle, won the big one it did. So many choices, so little money and time.
  16. I'm looking for coilovers, if you have an extra set, I'd like to buy them. PM me.

    Front pinion angle

It's adjustable with the ladder bars, but this is pretty close. Truck will be about 6 inches higher in the end.
  18. That wasn't my wife. For those of you that don't know my wife died Jan 5, '06 of a glioblastoma brain tumor. She had been suffering the effects for some 1.5 years or so, that resulted in extremely erratic and unrational behavior. She was finally diagnosed on Halloween of '05 and didn't last much longer after that. She underwent surgery, radiation and chemotherapy to no avail. That woman at SEZ is Katherine and she is a girlfriend. Sorry I didn't share my life with you it was just real hard to deal with and I didn't feel like sharing except with a few what I consider to be close friends and family. I was looking for my kinfolk in Ten I see. My dad was from Greenwood Arkansas and I have alot of kinfolk from there. I just found it odd that nobody I met of the female persuasion had front teeth, but then again I didn't get off the road much.
  19. No dentists either! None required. On my journey to SEZ I spent some time in tenessee, or Ten I See as they say. Which ten I'm not sure and I thought seeing double was bad!! Anyway, I stopped at no less than 6 convenience stores and all the women in them were missing at least the front two top teeth. I finally asked one what happened and she said that she smarted off to her old man and he slapped her silly, knocking her two front teeth out. I said you ought to get them fixed, she says, "ain't got no money" I guess it's legal over there, but I'd watch out if I were you, some of those women I saw I wouldn't fight in a fair fight and the rest were so ugly that there wouldn't be enough beer to make them good looking. There are probably better looking women, you just have to get off the road alittle farther than I did, probably in the back woods.
  20. No, he likes women that don't have their front teeth.
