  1. Being that the relative humidity can affect the way an engine performs, in theory, yes it can. However you're talking such a trivial amount of resistance in the grand scheme of things, that I DOUBT it matters. The differences in gear will be what you will notice as far as acceleration goes.
  2. Maybe if you don't know how to drive it.... To each his own, but I LOVE my puck monster. No chatter, no noise, breaks S HIT on the reg type holding power.
  3. Nope just one at this point. UPS lady woke me up about 15 minutes ago to sign for the new axles though, so I will probably get them in soon. I imagine it will wander a bit, as these are quite a soft sidewall. You haven't even had it through the quarter yet have you? I imagine the big end will be a ride ! I was wondering who would be the first to catch that
  4. FWIW, I jacked the car up today, and checked the wheel bearing. It has some play, so I'm going to replace it. Question: How do you guys tighten the companion flange to the stub axle when re-installing? I've had a hell of a time getting it tight enough. Thoughts?
  5. probably a while, unfortunately. The drag strips are closed this weekend in Iowa, because of a huge race.... guess where? My old HOME TRACK in KS. Then next weekend I have another wedding to go to... in Ks..... SO FRUSTRATING
  6. Weld it back up, and possibly put something to limit travel on top. I'm sure the reason it broke is because you added a lever, which is a force multiplier to the equation by simply making straps that went back to the diff. I would try to triangulate something to the holes where the RT diff mount usually goes. That might keep it from acting like a breaker bar.
  7. LMAO yes it is. That was on halloween one year. I was "Old Greg" from the british comedy tv show the Mighty Boosh
  8. Lol I just limped it home at about 35 mph. It actually turns really nice with only one wheel pushing!
  9. But then you couldn't say I told you so! Haha
  10. While we're grave digging, Make sure to leave enough room between the pipes below the diff to get a jack on the diff. I got lucky when I did mine, and had enough room.
  11. Somebody get this guy a beer. I broke that shaft yesterday. Outboard Inboard
  12. Those are the replacement axles that I had built, and will be here next week. You can PM me for the specifics if you'd like. Yes, this was one of the "beefier" axles sold here. HOWEVER, please read in the drivetrain section about this batch not getting properly heat treated. M2 made it good with me, and I'm sure the new axles will have zero issues.
  13. This is one of the axles that didnt get properly heat treated. A new solution has been found, and will be here next week. Here are the pics. Yep, thats broken. Outboard side Inboard side
  14. It was a roll-on no-lift 1-2, as in the video.
  15. I hope for your sake that it doesnt require slave cylinder shimming. That a PITA, and I aint talkin flat bread.
  16. Aftermarket. It was the one I twisted, that apparently had issues with the heat treat.
