  1. Can you link me to a site to buy the sleeves? I've only been able to find 2" ID sleeves everywhere I've looked, and ground control sells them for like $25 apiece IIRC from today's conversation. Also, would the 150# and 200# springs work well for a street application?
  2. Ok. So i see that the threaded tubes have a small step in them (on the ID) i was wondering if it would be possible to bore that out to the 56mm required for the 280 strut tubes. That seems to be the only REAL thing keeping me from having a kit that works. Am I correct in this assumption?
  3. Ok. I was also told that the springs on the 280z kit were 12" springs, as opposed to the 10" springs that come with the 240 kit. I've been looking around (speedway motors) and i've seen some sleeves there as well. However, they are only the 2" ID, as for the 240 struts. I have thus far been able to find 56mm ID tubes. Can you confirm / deny the difference in spring length? Also, the springs are 150# and 200# which in my readings on here seems quite light. Thoughts?
  4. I recently purchased a brand new in box ground control coilover kit for 240 and early 260z (cheap). My question is, would it be possible for me to use it with my 280z? I just spoke with ground control and learned the differences between the kits, but I was wondering if I could use 240z strut tubes on my 280, or if i would be money / time ahead to sell these and buy the correct kit? Thanks in advance...
  5. A note on coatings, etc. (kinda) Be SURE that once you install these SS headers, you wipe them down with alcohol EVERYWHERE before you start the engine. If you don't, your finger prints will be burned onto them forever, and they will look somewhat shoddy. I sure wish this process would hurry up. All i want for christmas is my 280z......
  6. SOOOOOOOOOO glad you cut the hood all the way out. I wasn't going to say anything before, but it looked haggard, even though you did a nice job with the cutout. Were your IAT's really high, or why are you looking to go to an ATW IC? Don't want meth injection?
  7. I've seen an entire turbo kit done in that white lightning coating looked BADAS*
  8. on the subject of cutouts, DMH makes the best on the market. link --> http://www.dmhperformance.com/ecutout.htm
  9. I would say that would depend on the size of duals. 2.5" duals out the back shouldn't be an issue IMO if you're crafty.
  10. If you're only running one exhaust pipe out the rear, there will be plenty of room. this is just my experience with a 280z however.....
  11. Damn you Dave! I was just about to post that pic haha. So excited.....
  12. My advice is to sell it to someone who really NEEDS it, and use that money towards an LSx engine. The north stars are cool, but they don't have near the power potential of an lsx, and they are much more problematic. I mean who really thought that a two piece block was a good idea? (they start to leak oil pretty serious after about 100-150k) and when you try to take the heads off, the bolts are usually seized in the aluminum. Better off to let someone who loves them play with them IMO. Or you could be a pioneer!
  13. Wheeler - Looks like about exactly what I'm talking about. However, that angle into the tank looks REALLY shallow, which concerns me. I don't want to have to jack up the back of the car so i can fuel it LOL.
  14. x2 on all this. I would almost be down for something like that, looks clean.
  15. zspeedracer, do you have any installed pics of this setup?
  16. What i've been looking at doing is mounting the fuel cell flush with the floor, and then having one of these (remote filler with rollover valve) point toward the tag area. Problem is, I'd have to make a little tunnel for the hose to sit under, or try to find a fuel cell with an offset fill (ideal). Possibly something to the tune of this...... But it would likely need to be sumped at the bottom.... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RCI-2172A/?rtype=10
  17. I've been tossing the idea around about doing a fuel cell on my 280 (LS1 swapped). However, I don't want to have to pop the hatch and move the carpet and / or a trap door every time i need to fill up, as this will be a street car. I was just curious if anyone has done a fuel cell with a remote fill, say behind the license plate? I've found several old mustang guys that have done this, but I searched around here, to no avail. Please post pics and / or experiences with this if you have any! Thanks
  18. WHY would you want a 108* centerline, unless you are trying to spin the engine to 10,000 rpms? These motors make great power on 112-114*, with a nice torque curve. It appears to me you are speaking in carbuerated, SBC terms, which have little to no bearing on the LSX world. .....Not trying to offend you here...... And also, you must not be familiar with the LSX motors because there is no way in high heaven you could fit a 25x /25x duration cam in an LSX with milled heads, without pistons with cast-in valve reliefs. and just because your "bruuuuutal" vette runs whatever, those cams are EXTREMELY mild (Duration@.050: 205* intake, 219* exhaust , Lift: 0.551 intake, 0.549 exhaust , LSA: 117.4*) So that being said, please don't confuse this guy more without researching your claims.
  19. Well the snow beat us. We had a dusting here on tuesday night. Sounds like we're getting close though..... I can't wait!
  20. We NARROWLY missed snow here last week. I'd like to get this thing before i have to put a snow plow on the front of my truck when i go get it SO READY TO DRIVE CAR... Its been off the road for 14 months now..........
