  1. Probably in a pile with the valve covers, wiring harness, and T-bolt clamps for the intake piping
  2. Called the place about the headers today. No answer, got a voice mail box. Hopefully I can contact them and figure something out about purchasing a pair. ANY OTHER IDEAS?
  3. Holy CRAP thats expensive. I guess though, @ $6/ft, and then $15 for each fitting. This hobby sucks! lol
  4. so how much did those set you back? Also, they're just painted, correct?
  5. Cable, were you referencing the shorty headers, or the ones posted later? If there's even a chance that you think they'll fit, I'll see about buying some (only if i can return them haha) Also, I'm not even close to my car right now (200+ miles away), so would they fit in the up and forward position, or would they be too high for the hood? I think they'd be too high, but that's just from memory. Thanks!
  6. "Almost 500 HP to the crank" not = to 500 whp. I think you misread, Cable. 500 FWHP ~= 420 RWHP. I'd say that thats a feasible number.
  7. Yes, any time you dump the exhaust under the car, there WILL be resonation, and it will be louder than out the back.
  8. TH-350, TH-400, 700R4, 200-4R, 4L60, 4L80 should fit with a little massaging. Being that its a 280, you have a larger tunnel, and a little more room to work with. Without ANY modifications, I don't think much will fit. With some cursing / hammering, a few more will.
  9. Actually, if I interpreted that post correctly, he's putting in a 6L80e, rather than a t56. The 6L80 gear ratios are such : 4.027 2.364 1.532 1.152 0.852 0.667 While 1994+ T56 (f body) ratios are: 2.66 1.78 1.30 1.00 0.74 0.50 I hope you have stock in a tire company, because you WILL be cooking some tires trying to go anywhere, under 60mph. I'd have to agree with the above post that you want higher (numerically lower) gears, if you can even make that massive 6L80 fit!
  10. You should have gotten a hp/tq vs RPM instead of MPH, or in addition to. That would truly show the benefits of the quick spool valve. Regardless, awesome numbers. That thing is sure to haul.
  11. I think it would be ok I'm much more concerned with the actual fitment. I'm either gonna buy these, and see if they're returnable, or buy a header builder kit, and get after it...........
  12. And that's my next question, would it be able to mount it high, on the passenger's side, like all the F body turbo guys do? Exactly how much room is there between the top of the intake and the hood?
  13. Transmission cross member is built! I'll be removing the engine / trans today hopefully, so I can finish a few more things, and pretty it up some more. No real huge updates, with the holidays, and me being back with my parents to help around the farm, I don't have very much time to drive the 3 hours here to work on her.
  14. I know there's no "real" way to tell if they'll fit, until someone buys them and tries them, but what do you think? This is a picture that I stole from the Ebay posting, and then from their measurements I extrapolated the rest of the measurements. By my measures, I think they will fit. The only thing I don't know, however, is if there will be steering shaft interference, as mine isn't installed right now. Oh, and BTW, I'd be running these in the down and forward position. Don't ask questions http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LS1-LS6-Stainless-Shorty-Chevrolet-Engine-Swap-Header-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem255edade50QQitemZ160505192016QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_2480wt_1027
  15. Well I did some searching (google) and actually found a thread on here where someone was designing one using 3D imaging. Looked interesting, but it was still at the drawing board stage
  16. DOH. Yeah, I forgot the early 4th gens had a bolt in fuel bucket. I guess I'll just nix that idea for now. I still would like my gauges to match. just kind of a pet peeve. Again, does anyone know where I can find an A pillar pod for gauges, for a 280z?
  17. I see on ls1tech where the pre 1998 camaoro gas tanks had a 0-90 ohm sender. In theory, it should be possible to get an older style sender, as the tank design is the same. This seems like a cheaper route than just buying a programmable fuel gauge, and I want all my gauges to match, if possible.
  18. Is a Volt gauge even really needed? I mean I think I'd notice it my lights were dimming and the engine was having trouble running. That would eliminate the need to find a slot for that pesky 4th gauge. Does anyone know where I could buy a pillar pod for my A pillar?
  19. I guess I should have been a little more specific. I am using a stock dash, reconditioned. ( by me) I intended to order 5" tach and speedo, and 2 3/8" everything else. I did NOT get the correct ones, so they're going back.
  20. Please post part #, price, and where you got them. I ordered an Autometer gauge kit, in the Carbon Fiber Ultralite vairiety. Little did I know that I had ordered 3 3/8" speedo / tach, and 2 1/16" everything else. I went through and priced it out, and it's over $100 more($700+total), which is out of my price range. I'm not dead set on the CF gauges, so lemme know what ya have!
  21. Aw, sad day. I just bought a full set of autometers (with a regular fuel guage) how much is the programmable?
  22. I'm building my own mount for the t56. I HAD a SBC / TH350. I didn't mind it, but I drove it to the dragstrip (60mi) and it absolutely screamed on on Interstate. Of course it was with some 24" tires. haha.
