  1. Just enrichens it, which if it was tight enough to keep the car from running right then it probably needed that.
  2. False. If it had been leaning out it would have ran rough and likely detonated. It was an intake restriction. There was no roughness. Just no more air available to accelerate further.
  3. Is this sanding for looks or are you polishing the inside of the carbs for smoother airflow?
  4. In any case you need to let us know if it lives up to the hype. ...and if they pull up in a water powered escort:wink:
  5. Well look on the bright side, the worst that can happen is the oxygen bottle shooting through a few walls and people. It's bound to stop sooner or later.
  6. Lol you should have stuck with map sensors. Tightening the spring leans the mixture and loosening it richens the mix. Mine doesn't seem to be responding to my adjustments lately though. I'll be glad to be rid of it.
  7. maybe they have their own regulator to suit their purposes.
  8. I'm really puzzled now as to why I was unable to rev beyond 4 grand. The only thing I changed was the afm housing to make it work right.
  9. My towns are under my avatar. If you all have an Ohio Z meet, count me in.
  10. That's interesting that it works so well for you Pyro. I'm not doubting you at all, but when I ran the na afm I absolutely couldn't go past 4000 rpm. It was as if I didn't have the pedal down far enough, even though it was floored (intake restriction). Using the turbo afm fixed it. If it's working for you, then dosquattro should give it a shot.
  11. It may also need to have its spring loosened, but it would need to be really tight for it to bog down the motor.
  12. Can't say from experience. I had one of my suppliers do that part for me.
  13. No.. you swap n/a electronics into a turbo afm. If you don't get a bigger afm housing you won't be able to rev over 4000 rpm.
  14. I can speak from experience on the water being burnt and on the afrs. Rich afrs make black-ish smoke that blackens your rear bumper. White smoke only at idle was water being burnt due to a rotten head gasket.
  15. I'm glad to see that thing off of there. I know it's not my car and I shouldn't hate, but seeing an old Z riced out hurts my heart:frown:
  16. Does it make me a bad person if I don't want to link this to Columbusracing.com so I can be the only guy in Columbus with this shirt:wink: If you think a general car site would be interested, I'll post it on there.
  17. You may want to actually read these things before you comment on them. The car requires an upgraded alternator and two extra storage batteries. No cords are involved.
  18. Lol You said it. Everyone tells me to take the damn bumpers OFF of my car. You can't please everyone, so do what suits you.
  19. I'll save someone else the trouble of saying it. Search. You can read up on it at http://www.megasquirt.info
  20. Yours must be in good shape. When mine was still n/a I was nowhere near that. Maybe with enough work it could have gotten there, but the whole system is a rat's nest of corroded connections and sensors that may or may not be working.
