  1. The 83 zx t3 is internally gated and oil cooled only. A t3/t4 hybrid is a t3 turbine section combined with a t4 compressor section.
  2. Helix, I know my statement doesn't apply to every application. That said, there is a passage from Corky in which he states that intercoolers are often made thicker to make up for other deficiencies.
  3. If the top one is the cheapest, I would go for that. That's about the size I have for my 280. If you're concerned about air flowing directly over it, you could always make up ducting to flow more air to it. I personally wouldn't pay more for the others and get less intercooler. Also, 3.5" thickness is a bit much based on what I gathered from Corky Bell.
  4. Damn. Your headlights cost more than my car. Not saying they aren't worth it, they're sexy as hell.

  6. No problem there... mine may not be show quality, but there aren't any others in the area for all practical purposes. It's the nicest I know of.

  8. Very nicely done. I'm running the same external gate setup, but it doesn't look that nice at all. You've got the best looking l28 engine bay on here imo.
  9. I posed the same question before, hoping to put the afm after my turbo to accomodate venting the bov to the atmosphere (which works fine anyways). The concensus seemed to be that in addition to the reasons already named above, the afm housing can't be pressurized.

  11. I removed mine with no issues, except that pressure builds in my gas tank even with the vent line open, which seems to be a common problem.
  12. I may be the only person on here who actually enjoys the massive 280z bumpers. I think they look cool, plus thats a whole lot of protection from bad parallel parking by you or others around you!
  13. I don't get why that would be unsafe. My wg comes right off the oem manifold and it works fine.
  14. Great work on the video editing, but I was disappointed by the low Z content.
  15. I too despise the bling rims, but back to the hood. In my opinion anything sticking up 4" is too flashy. Also, If you go with a cf hood, paint it. Nothing says rice like a black hood on an otherwise unblack car.
  16. Have you messed with the afm yet? It's really simple, and is a great way to alter your AFRs. Jersey made a thread about how to do it complete with step by step pics.
  17. I like Blake's idea of boiling silicon couplers to get additional diameter out of them, at least in a pinch. However, I have to disagree with him on being able to compress a coupler that is .25" oversized and have it seal properly. I tried fitting a 2.25" coupler onto my 2" compressor outlet, and it didn't work out.

  19. I totally agree with Thumper on his first point. You need BOV. However, I'm running a 2G Eclipse BOV vented to the atmosphere and the car runs fine. The RPM's don't go below idle speed even after running hard and coming to a stop. There is of course some richness associated with this, but take it from someone who is running it this way, it's played up to be more of an issue than it is in reality. Oh btw, the 2G bov is a poorly made piece of equipment, like someone mentioned earlier. It doesn't seal properly under vacuum. Viola, I don't know if the 2G fits into your category of horrific sounding BOVs, but as a matter of opinion I think mine sounds pretty good if you're not looking for something to make a high pitched attention grabbing shriek every time you let off the gas. In any case, I'm going to be replacing mine with something else when I do my IC install, and I'm thinking I'll have a hard time finding a better quality BOV that isn't obnoxious.
