When i clicked on it it said that the item was no longer valid. Do your guys' computer show it as valid?? Tyson

Thats looking pretty slick. I love street bikes, I'd get one if I knew I wouldn't kill myself on it. You do some good clean work nothing overtly gaudy. Tyson

First of all I'd like to send praise to the Z Car God....wait that falls under religion. *Think whats the next best political move here for me... butt kissing....no...hmmm this ones a tuffy...* jk jk. I agree with Jmortensen as well, though I have never commented on the topics I do enjoy hearing peoples differening opinions. I feel that if we are to comment on the political/religious topics that we should realize and understand that you are opening yourself up for a poking by anybody. However, I do believe that once the topic goes sour i.e. name calling, etc. that the post should either be locked or deleted. We are all adults (some of us newer than others) and we should act like adults. However, for the mods if is or has become too time consuming or is too much of a hassle to regulate then you should continue with the current policy that is being enforced. Tyson

HAHA. Well even if I don't get it, when I do go look at it I'll take my Digi Cam so you can see it as well. Tyson

NO DAN!!! NO!!! I LIVE HERE!!! I CALLED IT FIRST!!!

Hey Tim I live in Bakersfield, was curious if you have personally seen the car or if you could help me get in contact with the owner. I have a 78 right now that I'm doing a complete rebuild so one that doesn't have to deal with smog would be great!! Thanks a lot for any info. Tyson

What is a DA? (sorry if thats retarded) Tyson

Hey Austin or other paint guys I have question for you. Did you ever use a air powered orbital sander when sanding down the body? Just curious if it would work to strip the 4 layers of paint I have one mine?
-
I must say, that is one gorgeus paint job. You're also an inspiration to me being a fellow younger cat to try and do a lot of this stuff myself. At first I didn't want to even touch the body work at all, but there is a quote going on around here somewhere "If you didn't build you don't own it". Once again that is sweet.

How about some pics of cleaned up intake manifolds?

Okay, I live in CA and everyone knows we have horrible Smog regulations. I have a 280Z that I'm rebuilding and I want to build a high hp motor with keeping it street legal. The motors: 1) Rebuild the L28E, turbocharge, forged internals, etc. etc. Worried about the old FI not being able to pass smog with the new turbo. 2) I've also thought of doing a 4 banger swap, i.e. KA (turboed) or SR which seems I could get more hp (more parts) easier with still passing smog easier. Basically what it boils down to is should I rebuild/turbo and try to pass smog. Or should I buy a newer engine rebuild and have more readily available smog parts. No matter what I'm going to do i'm going rebuild. The car's purpose is going to be a street killer (daily driver), and the occasionall regulated drag race. I'm already trying to shave some weight with some cf and fiberglass parts so thats another plus for the 4 cylinder. I know about all of the if it has a cat originally it has to have a cat now. However I've heard that my car will be Smog exempt in a couple of years is this true? Some say it isn't some say it is. And I have read the Sticky on the motor swap but isn't too much of a helpful, but left me questioning. Tyson

This computer is a pretty solid buy and very inexpensive, its only $450 for a very good quality laptop. It would work great for just keeping in your car a tuning literally on the Fly. If i were further along in my rebuild i'd buy it for myself. http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Acer-Notebook-PC-3002LCi-/sem/rpsm/oid/123722/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do Hope it helps you out. Not quite as cool as the Palm pilot setup though. Tyson

Okay, I didn't want to fill up the tech boards with this, but I have couple of questions. 1) Has anybody ever tried replacing the frame rails and unibody rails with aluminum. i.e. making an aluminum chassis 2) I'm going to be cutting out the rear spare tire area to put in a fuel cell. It appears to me that when people do replace/weld in the floor cut out that they use a thin steel. Can you replace that with fiberglass or carbon Fiber or possibly aluminum?? (the replacement area would be supporting it i would do the steel box in around the tank). The only problems I see is that it would only save minimal weight and you would loose a lot of structural support. Anybody have any opinions on this or want to call me a fricking retard please do so ? Tyson

Hey, Tim kinda off the topic of the engine /transmission, but would do us a favor and post some pics of the car/engine bay to give a better understanding of size restraints you have. Not that any hybridz had a problem with fitment issues. Tyson
-
Well thank you Tim for clarifying that. I don't like doing the heard think but I just had to know if it was possible/feasible. Best of luck to you with your choice and please keep us updated. PS-I don't really hate you, I'm just envious. Tyson

First of all Tim... I hate you. I passed up a free Opel GT that I was going to drop in the KA or SR20DET, for my current Datsun. I've never heard about the spun bearing with the KA. A friend of mine and me rebuilt the KA about a couple months ago it was definately and easy and friendly motot to work with, the only problem we encountered was the timing chain tensioner. Which turned out to be a simple loosen this bolt situation...durrrrrr. Anyways you can rebuild one bone stock for around $500 all oem (no camshafts). But who likes OEM. The can handle somewhere close to the 300hp range SAFELY on stock internals. I'm sure you seen the ebay turbocharger kit for them as well, another friend and me installed one on his, it was an okay setup as in you get what you pay for etc. Don't listen to all the import tuners telling you to go SR20DET Mandatory over the KA, they are very similar engines in HP output ranges, however the KA more often times puts down more Torque. On another note with the Opel's I've heard that you can modify corvette suspension to fit the Opel, have you ever heard of this? Also here is a forum I used to participate on that you might like to look around on http://opelgt.com/forums/index.php? another reason I passed on the Opel, I'm a fairly tall guy and the huge transmission hump was too comfortable for size 14 shoes. The company we went through offered us by far the best price we could find on a rebuild kit for the KA. They're a local company for me, but they do huge business Internationally, I'd highly recommend them from my experience. http://www.enginekits.com/ek/ Tyson

This is good advice, I'm a young athlete and have had 3 knee surgeries. Once I tore it all, the ACL, MCL, PCL, MENISCUS, and severely stretched the patellar tendon. After 6 months (the earliest recommended time for recovery) i tried to play basketball for my senior year. Not even a month into it i completely retore my meniscus causing its partial removal. After that surgery 3 months later in therapy I was having abnormal pain. I have rare condition in which i generate scar tissue up to 3x faster than most normal people. This scar tissue had worked its way in and around the remainder of my meniscus causing it to be completely removed. However with the my doctor who has done all three of mine and both of my older brothers (6 knee surgeries and 3 boys go figure) I am currently training to play basketball again for my junior college. However i must say seeing a lot of surgeries if you do go to surgery do as much therapy that your insurance will allow, do home programs everything. Trust me though it hurts like one SOB while your doing it it does feel much better afterwards. I slacked off between one of my surgeries and now cannot fully extend my leg which has led to several Siatic Nerve problems in my lower back. Sorry for the long response and best of luck to ya. What do you expect from the overtly wealthy, who too often get what they want on name alone? I've met very few extremely wealthy people, except for my uncle, who haven't thrown a fit over something really small.

Daisy Duke is being played by Jessica Simpson, unfortunately. Don't get me wrong she is hot but I don't like her acting especially for this movie. And yeah Burt does need to hang it up, he was in Longest Yard as well, guess the old rich needs a hobbie so he takes on stupid roles.

You boys might like the movie trailer to the movie itself. Looks pretty sweet to me, I'd go pay 8 bucks just the see the car. http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/thedukesofhazzard/

Wow, now that the spoild rich kid. Check all the goodie goodies he has just lying around...but the install i don't get whats the deal, I mean its a combustion engine just seems logical to have it combust in a fender bender. "Inflammable is flammable?!?!?! What a country!!" - Dr. Nick (The Simpsons)
