  1. Okay, so i'm back to a Z after going full circle from Porsche and Jag V8 Conversions. I've narrowed myselft back to 3 choices for my Z: LS1 cam swap only, HIGH-performance L28ET, or HIGH performance SR20DET. Okay to the question, I love YZ fender flares out back, but I don't need the crazy 12" out back, so it would be more for the looks sort of thing. Do you guys think it would be weird to have an SR20DET powered widebody Z? I mean for an LS1 or L28ET I think it would be fine, but for some reason its just seems odd to have the YZ with a 4cyl. Thanks for the help, Tyson
  2. Uh-oh that sounds like trouble. but trouble of the good kind. I think all of us here would want frequent updates on progress . Tyson
  3. I think its called rear decklid. Now thats great pic can't argue with wide-body porsches, but i like the bit more radical. http://hypertec.ws/todd_porsche/photos/ Purist shouldn't look, its flat out rape if you like the purity thing. Tyson
  4. WOW!! its guys like you who tare me up on motor-decisions cause you do such damn good work. You should update your sig too, show the progress that you've made. Again good work, thats just clean. Tyson
  5. now if i could only read japanese and understand what they are telling me. Good find though. Tyson
  6. Okay, I've got some questions about turbo manifold designs. I was looking around the web and came across something interesting, the guy was talking about the firing order affecting the turbo spool with the manifold design. http://www.mez.co.uk/turbo4.html Now according to this if you were to be fabricating a manifold for a twin turbo L6 would there be any benefit of say connecting the pipe from cylinders 6,1,and 3 all to the first turbo, then have 2,4,and 5 all go to the second turbo? Or would the benefit be so little that you're better off for simplicity just to have cylinders 1,2,3 go to turbo 1, then 4,5,6 go to turbo 2? Also would this have any effect on a single turbo setup for an L6? One more quick question what is the benefit of having an equal length manifold? Does it solve the problem i'm talking about?? Thanks for any help. Tyson
  7. Glad to have you back, best of luck on the house(s) situation. You get any of the kinks sorted out on the V8 RX-7?? Tyson
  8. thanks a lot i know can no longer see my screen because all my senses just blew on the launch alone. Tyson
  9. Sparks you the man!!! I knew I wasn't that crazy. I mean I browse too many car sites as my sig leads people to believe but I could have sworn it was on here. Good find. Tyson
  10. yeah i recant my statement, I had just checked there as well. I sould have sworn though that some Z car has something very similar to that and was complaing about cold start and vapor lock. Could be wrong though. Tyson
  11. For some reason I'm thinking that someone has done something similar to that I think its HeavyZ possibly that has a hood that has that by the little bulge in the hood. Tyson
  12. 240Z2NV You can send the pics to me. I messed around a little bit with the whole double on both sides like what you're saying, but didn't like the looks, i didn't think it matched the grey housing area. Its really funny I was looking for LED '68 firebird lights but couldn't find anything at all on them. GHtokyo kinda confused on what you mean by all one peice, like what blueOvalZ has done? If i do build something like this then I'll do like what you said and use a crap load of LED's. Thanks for the comments, Tyson
  13. Well this is a poor attempt at a different tail light mod using the Cadillac Tail lights that are fairly popular on custom trucks. Let me know what you think. Don't know how proportionate it is but I think you'll get the idea. Tyson
  14. That is gosh dang impressive. I thought i would quit watching a minute in but just couldn't stop. Tyson
  15. I've seen some of those before and some of the cars have potential if it weren't for all that junk. Tyson
  16. I must say i thought it was cool to watch but of course couldn't fathom doing something like that myself. Kinda stupid at the same time. Tyson
  17. Sounds like someone didn't get very much sleep drunk or not. Gotta ask you though are the wrist sore and was your entire apartment stripped by the time you woke up?? I'm tellin you, you gotta watch out for females with handcuffs willing to perform strip searches... Hope you had a blast. If you don't know drink a lot of water before you pass out or fall a sleep, I do that and have yet to have a hangover and well lets just say I don't drink lightly. Tyson
  18. HAHAHa no problem a quick google search is all that gave it to me. Gotta love the net. Tyson
  19. Sweet jeebus, I don't see that as just putting through the parking lot...maybe smoking the tires is "putting around". I've seen some pretty stupid work on SRT-4's a guy came in to my auto class and was a first semester, dry honed the cylinder walls, over-tightened all the bolts unevenly, head gasket seal on the oil pan, forged pistons hammered in, Fiji water radiator over flow, trash bag insulation, jb weld O2 sensor, and CRAPPY welded exhaust. Sad thing was he was parting out bad parts on ebay claiming them new or only slightly used... then complained how it ran bad. It was aggravating though he didn't want to learn what to do right and always wanted a 2nd semester to tell him what to do then play dumb to see to get them to do it. Frickin idiots. I trust you'll do better than that bastaad. Tyson
  20. I think this should help you out http://www.carfolio.com/specifications/models/?man=3932 . Should answer all your spec differences. Hope it helps. Tyson
  21. I didn't really pay attention to the headers but what had me worried was the rotting plywood holding the battery in place????? Definately brings doubt into my mind for being that cheap, when in comparison to what they others are going for.
  22. If you do go the VW route you can always remove the fenders and replace the front "hood" and that such with either baja or fiberglass. The 13b would be cool, but don't they lack torque which I thought was bad for breaking the wheels loose? Then again, you can build a VW motor for cheap or turbo one fairly easily. Just think you need to get it lower for the high speed drifting it doesn't seem like it could/can handle very many high speed corners without being tipsy. Tyson
  23. I don't know how CHEAP it'll be but i'll be pretty badass, take a Karhman Ghia pull the old motor and gut it. Buy a rolling chassis if at all possible, take a VW bus transaxle or a Porsche 915 (1000 used), go to Kennedy Engineering (google search) buy one of their adapters for an SR20DE/SR20DET. buy the SR20DET motor only for 1500 on ebay, megasquirt it, and basic boost controller. http://www.thesamba.com has some pretty cheap Hi-performance stuff cause well its VW and they are cheap. Thats what I would do, i think it'd be pretty badass. Tyson
  24. That think looks pretty sweet. Need to get some bigger tires and a hi-po VW engine and that baby is set. Put a roll cage in there and just roll through turns, nothing is more impessive than a guy doing a barrel roll in a corner and driving away.... Tyson
