  1. I'm ordering a Reman engine for my Z from ATK, because my engine is on it's way out along with the turbo just after it reached it's 221k b-day. In looking at ATK's website, I've got a few quandries. A) Does the '83 have round or square exhaust ports? On their site they list 2 turbo engines. 321A & B. One says "Turbo" and one says "Has Bolts For Alum Plate@Blk Bottom". Any idea what this means? Thanx!
  2. Any plans on making one for the '83 year? That would be super! I've been looking for a manual that cover the factory wiring and such better than the Haynes and is specific to my 83 ZX Turbo.
  3. Thanx for the info Craig. Now do you include the information on how to wire it up for my model year w/ the bracket or is that something I should ask so I can file the info away until I get the new alt? Thanks again!
  4. How much does that puppy run? I might be in the market soon!
  5. Is that the same for the ZX? I thought the ZX had an IR alternator?
  6. I believe it's a 10si or 12si (Delco Remy). The only thing I'm not sure about is how to adapt it from the nissan wiring to the GM one wire setup. Craig can ya explain what's needed? Is it included in some form of a kit? I'm very interested in changing over because it looks like I'm gonna need a new alternator again soon.
  7. http://www.innovativeturbo.com/Wastegates.htm I had it on my home PC. I don't think he has any prices listed as of yet though. I'd send him an e-mail. This is TiAL's Site: http://www.angelfire.com/me2/tpi/index.html
  8. I found the new shop of the guy who originally owned Turbonetics and he makes some bad a$$ stuff! Go look up Innovative Turbo Solutions, I believe that was his shop. He makes the Indy gate.
  9. The TB shouldn't affect SDS or TEC II. The thing you need to be concerned about should be the TPS. There are 2 types, Potentiometer type and Switch type. As far as I know SDS requires the Pot. type and I think most programmable FI systems require a Pot. type TPS. To be sure I'd look at the manual for the FI system.
  10. It should make plenty more w/ the right turbo. I'm goin for the 400-450hp range. I believe you need to do several mods which might negate the diesel block. But on the bright side I don't think you'll need it. The F54 Turbo block is indestructable. Work with a p-90 head from an '81-'82 and go to town on the turbo and good rings and you should be set. Look up the Benz injector mod from a 450, they should support 420hp? and also look into the Pierburg FP from Cartech. I'd take a look at Scottie's site for his old 280Z turbo. Plenty of good ideas.
  11. Ok so I have a BW T-5 that uses a Cable driven speedo. Say I wanna use one of Auto Meter's fancy self calibrating guages. Do they require a VSS input from the tranny? If so could I simply pop in a VSS from a Mustang T-5 and call it a day? I basically wanna be able to have any tire/wheel combo I need without worrying if my speedo is dead on or not.
  12. My plan was to do the GTR lights much like the ones on the 280ZX Aerotech made. But I might be leaning towards a different option. This company I found (http://www.clearcorners.com) will convert your existing tail lights to LED's and they do HID conversions too. I'm not sure as of yet what the ball park price would be, but if you take a look at their sample 240SX I think you'll be impressed!
  13. I scored a Apex'i Super AVC-R for $200 today! Plus my big ol IC is on the way. Partaaaaaaay. *does cabbage patch*
  14. I don't have it off hand, but if ya go to Zcar.com and look through personal sites it should be there.
  15. I think the ZX might be a lil different in respect to fitting those guages because there's a circuit board behind them. If you go to Greg Kringe's site he has a good write up on how to replace them in a ZX.
  16. wow! I will be looking into that! Now of only they had the headlight covers for that it would be perfect!
  17. I'm not sure on the differences (I'm sure RossC knows) but is there separate info for wheels regarding 280ZX's? We could add that to the table or make another table.
  18. Hey that would be cool. Although I hear you can simply use a mustank one with a lil trimming.
  19. look at Arif's post or do a search for Benz injectors
  20. ratedZ, What I did on mine was simply take the plastic line into the engine bay put a 3" piece of silicone vaccum line over it and put that line onto a t-fitting. I then wiretied every connection to make a good seal.
  21. I run 10PSI and it's drinks 91. If it got that hot w/ out an IC I'd be adding some decent octane boost and listen for pinging.
  22. R0N that's what I have on my rig. Sounds bad ass now that I have exhaust on my car.
  23. It's ok, you just owe me a ride
