I've found during driving my skyline that during gearchanges, sometimes the revs often stay up for longer than they feel like they should and take too long to go down. I couple of my friends have noticed this when driving it also. Any ideas people?

Hey, whats the torque settings for the inlet/exhaust manifolds? And for the manifold to turbo bolts/ Thanks
-
Your title is kinda weird...:icon11:You know you can get Fuel Injected L serires motorss that are naturally aspirated?
-
Do it. Cheap power...just get a l28et and bolt on the turbo gear.
-
Ok so I've found: & & Surely if I can make a fuel rail or two for with 2 fittings for $100usd? As the auction on trademe @USD$47 per meter. Seems like a good deal to me? I'm sure I could drill it out and tap it to fit the injectors (as i'd prefer to change from barb). What do you guys reckon?
-
Does anyone have a picuture of this on a motor?
-
I've just been looking at my fuel rail on my L20et as i've been pulling the manifolds off and it's ugly and looks unefficient... I've seen custom fuel rails on l28et's on this forum (Pallnet was one of the brands?). Then I was looking on Trademe and I found http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Performance/Fuel-systems/auction-78906554.htm How would I make a fuel rail for a L6 out of this, i mean does anyone have any pictures using of anyone using rail like this? What injector options would be a good setup, or should I jsut stick with the Barb style ones? I've heard vg30det injectors are a good upgrade for the L20et, can anyone tell me the flow rate of l20et injectors compared with other L6s? Sorry bout all the questions:lol: (maybe I should put bullets next to them next time:s)

OMFG!!!! I just changed the ignition module and the fuel pump and is still wont start!!!!! I'm pulling my hair out with ultra stress of this thing. Please anyone help! -
Thanks. I've actually had this problem before when I got a new coil on my old skylines l20et. The thing is the car was working fine and I didnt remove the ignition coil so how would it have came ungrounded/unsecure? I have kinda narrowed it down to either the fuel pump of the ignition module. It seems the ignition module is working as i have a strong spark... Its really annoying! Fine one second then dead the next...
-
It is isn't it. Now the fun bit to get the fuel rail swung over if you havnt done so yet...
-
Its easy getting the manifolds off u jsut need a bunch of different extentions. That heat shield thing can be annoying to work aroudn so rip it off.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm looking more so at a faulty fuel pump. This is what I posted on SDU: "I just finished work and i walked down to the car and tried to start it and it went! Then it started running all spluttery and rough. I got under the car and gave the fuel pump a whack and the pump got real loud then died. Started car again and did the same thing and it died. So i've narrowed it down to the fuel pump being faulty. Sound about right ?" I'm also going to replace the ignition module aswell. Just have to find one... -
it is factory turbo. its the fuel pump at fault. i got it started then i laid under the car and whacked the fuel pump and it died. then i started it again and the pump was VERY noisey. so im assuming the pump is screwed. anyone else agree?

I'm having the same frustrating issue and im going crazy!

Car wont start! Ran fine, now not so fine...HELP PLEASE! Hey guys, I got drift_orcon's 4door r30 yesterday. Ran excellent from Christchurch back to Nelson...But now: Travelled 30 km this morning to drop my gf off at a friends, travelled 30km back and visited my father. Went to start the car and it started but very rough. I tried for 2 hours to sort it out, I tried another dizzy, AFM, bought a new ignition coil lead, reset ecu by removing battery terminals and pumping brake pedal a few times...but it help anything. Me and my Dad couldnt figure it out, it was getting a strong spark, getting air and the fuel pump was priming so i'm assuming it was staging. We towed it to his friends son-inlaw's Auto Electrican company and they had the same problem then all of a sudden it started fine (they hadnt done anything to get it to start). I thought all was good and I drove back to town around 5km away), got to town and felt like i had 1% power. So I pulled into a carpark and went for a hour long walk. came back to the car and it started when I tried, i got about 400m down the road and it died at the traffic lights so these guys helped me push it outta the way. I went for another walk and then came abck and tried to start it but it wouldnt go, it turns over and it sparks but it just doesnt start. Then I walked home and talked to stagefumer11 on msn and he said he had the same problem and it was the ecu. So I grabbed a handfull of the ecus i have (5 in total), drove down in my Mum's car and tried to start it but no go, so then I started trying each ecu but I had the same problem. I can hear the fuel pump, im getting spark but its not starting! I've tried another AFM but no luck with taht either. I'm starting to get a real headache and really frustrated by this, plus im really worried about it sitting in town. Does anyone have any suggestions that may help? Anything please I need help!!! THANKS By the way this post is originally located @ http://www.skylinesdownunder.com/for...ad.php?t=53472 (anyone im referring to in this thread are SDU users) May pay to read the thread from the link above too. Thanks

So with a external wastgate, can it just be welded anywhere on the exhaust manifold?
-
Its a automatic transmission. Lately the vehicle has been making occasional banging/cluinking noises that soudns like its coming fomr the bellhousing, i thought maybe it was the torque convertor cause If i put my put flat on the break and pump it a bit the banging/clunking stops. I will give the tight turn thing a try when I finish work today. Thanks for your suggestions.

It's full of oil still.

That merc is beatuiful

I've just been to a few places around town and they said 2 1/2 hours for labour just to pull it apart. And i was told its big $$ to spend to overhaul a diff. I do have a FSM but I have no experience with dismantling a diff. I will check the oil level in it when I finish work. I'm worried, I need it fixed but I dont have a huge budget...

The 05L head is the head used on the L20et. It looks very similar, I dont know what the story is with the crazy port matching...
-
Its not a 05L head is it?
-
OK, i'm kinda new to this. I've never had to fix any part of the drivetrain on my car. Where is the pinion bearing located? How do I check it? I'll be putting another driveshaft in when I do my manual conversion next month. But its not the driveshaft is it? Its the differential?
