I did quite a big burnout lastnight (all legal location etc), and now my car is making a loud whine at certain cruise and acceleration speeds. I'm not sure if its the driveshaft or the diff whining, how would I find out? I have a R200 LSD and I was told these were just about indestructable. Thanks

I rang repco and they can a comlpete clutch kit for the L20et for me at NZD$220 (thats around USD$137). That wasnt trade price, i'll check out other places 2mrw when they're open and I can get trade price at half of them.

Does a set include a cam sprocket, chain, and tensioner?

Digging this post up. I have everything I need for my conversion now except for the flywheel and clutch. I'm getting a flywheel for NZD$40 and a clutch kit is around NZD$200. What I wanna ask you guys, Is do you reckon i'll be able to get the auto out and the manual in with the car on axle stands? Do I have to tilt the motor back or forward to fit the manual box or not (if yes, how!?)? Thanks, George

those manifolds are easy to get off. you need a long extension with a short extension on it. jsut put ur fingers in and feel where the bolt is then kinda guide the socket on the extension in...

Hey everyone, I scored myself a manual conversion for free but it didnt have the flywheel or clutch so i need to get my hands on these bits. I was thinking of buying the clutch new, does anyone know if the RB clutches fit on the L series gear? Thanks

All is sorted! Ok I got another alternator to put in and I installed it. Started the vehicle and the lights were still on... So I went back and looked at the wiring and I saw that the wire going from the alternator to the starter motor was half melted and had soldered itself together to the crimps and the wire was corroded green. So I replaced that and everything is fine now. So maybe all along the problem was just that wire...

those ecus have a limp mode? u sure about that.....?

What does that mean exactly? I'm assuming the vg ecu can be reprogrammed? But can it control everything properly??

has a z31 ecu got the same loom plug on it as a l20et/l28et ecu?

In my r30 skyline. i was driving along the other night and randomly the following lights came on and occacionaly flick off for a second but then come back on. If the car is under 1000rpm they dont come on, they once I rev it they come on and stay on. Sometimes go off for a sec when i stop or turn. The lights are: Door open Light, Coolant Overflow bottle light, Fog lights light, Window washer light, fuel light, and the spare tire light which is not on the dash but next to the interior lights on the roof. What do you mean the wrong order? That is the correct order. Yeah having the AFM pluged in makes a huge difference. I dont see anyway that it started without it the AFM pluged in...

I dont know about a L series motor of that age, but on my 83 l20et u jsut undo the two bolts (10mm heads) and rotate it until timing is where you want it.
