  1. Mike I know, crazy! If those front flares were good then we would be talking about the car going to paint but hey if it was easy it wouldn't be a Z!
  2. Hey from all the older guys I know...I betta get it all done before the wife comes around!.....Thanks for the post! Now that isn't...I think! lol thanks! Hey if I can grow up and have a car likes yours then it would be great! Thanks. Thanks...I think Joe wants a huge Thank you! Please look two post up, Yasin has a gift for you!! Thanks for the post. You live like you are 25! Thanks for the post! Fred, I know.....I am getting old....zya around soon!
  3. Cool, can't wait to hear/see what happens to the car! Today I was able to play around with the idea of cutting out the old flares and seeing how the zg flares would look against the new wheels. First, fiberglass sucks to cut out (dust) and there were a million pop rivets in this thing....wasted time taking the front flares out because in the end...I will have to use old fenders to cut the right amount of metal out. As for the rears....the old flares were put on very nicely but now for the zg flares, way to much material was taken out. Just means more time has to be spend on the rear of the car. Full lock and no rubbing on the frame rails...... Before I started to cut the rear flares out, I thought about keeping them in but the fronts were just to small. Also didn't want the CF ZGs to go to waste. Next step is to figure where I am going to mount the flares and start trying to build back the sheet metal. I might have to get two patch panels for the dog legs so they can be metal and not fiberglass/bondo.
  4. Joe your power steering should look like this:
  5. Dayz, is this place local to you? I might want a few parts done if you can let me know. Thanks
  6. Now go away! You own two out of the three colors I like.
  7. I have/had plans to paint the car red or orange but other colors have come to mind over the last few weeks. I also like the 350z Lemans color but someone I know is going to paint his LS1 Z that color I guess I am looking for something differnt but not something I will get tired of in a yr. The color has to look good with CF hood and CH hatch with ZGs. I think the orange doesn't look good with the black hood and this is the reason I started down the road of a new color. Red which I like......Joel and Justin has made them look good already So let me know what you guys think! Color I "want" to do: (Nissan 350Z color A17). Stolen pic from another member
  8. So am I! Any pics of the nut you added?
  9. Hmm, now my question is.....to me it seems that the axles are to short BUT we are running the same rear control arms and have different wear marks and pattern. I believe either my adaptor (mas280 design) or my control arm settings differ from yours and this is why I am not following the logic of adding material to the stops. If I added material to the stops, I believe it would bind up. Also in the picture you show, it seems as if you are "testing" the movement of the axle vertical and I am not 100% sure that show the true movement when mounted horizontal during suspension travel. Mark, what rear control arms are you running? Blown77Z, you think the camber in the rear pushes the axle inboard and outboard during adjustments. I wonder if the sound I heard at the track is....the axle slamming against the stops or the bearings slamming into the cage as the "guts" come in and out. I guess installing it all together without the boot and then mounting it to the car would be ideal.

    Big news!

Congrats!!!!! This is YOUR year! Enjoy it!
  11. Pictures~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am trying to mentally see this and struggling to understand what you mean by the guts come out before the axle hits the stops. Do you mean the bearrings come out of the cage? Sorry for a million questions.
  12. Are the solid mounts a lot better than the standard ones I am running? Reason I ask, I have no knowledge of how they "poly" engine mounts effects the car. Like a poly bushing in the suspension gives you a stiffer ride...does the poly engine mount help with any kind or vibration? Thanks
  13. Well after 8k miles on the Z I found that my passenger side rubber mount from JCI was broken: I called up JCI, thinking that maybe I mounted it wrong and could get a decent answer for why this could have happened...not putting blame on them at all. Well the answer I got was because I track the car and use the motor to stop the car helped shorten the life of the mount:icon56: So I bought another mount ( just the rubber part you see broken ) for $14.50 from JCI. I also asked for another book because I thought maybe I missed something the first time and I caused the mount to break. Anyway, I was charged $15for the book! This is after John looked up and saw that I bought the kit already back in 06. This was pretty much the last straw because 2 years ago when I filled out all the paper work needed when buying the kit...JCI sent me the wrong trans mount ( for a 280) and would take it back but I had to pay shipping back to them for there mistake! Anyway the reason for this thread.....if your mount breaks like mine did or becomes worn you can go to your local parts store and get a 64-68 Chevy Malibu motor mount...driver side or passenger side! $5.50 at my local store: Here are a few pics to compare the two... Left is from my parts store.....Right is from JCI
  14. Joe is the man! Ok after d*cking around last weekend and not doing a damn thing. I am happy to report that: It is back in!! Trans back in! But, now the gear stick doesn't come up in the same position as the later s30s Off to a good home! So I tried getting the pulley off and no luck...so I have to use a puller during the week. Also I need to change the intake this week and finish the brake lines. I am going to have to run a new rear line so I can plumb in the wilwood prop valve in. I am sure I will find a few more while I am at it deals but at least the motor is back in!
  15. Who knows? That is why I am building one......in YOUR garage! Being like Joe as I grow....hmmm.....maybe I should move to NJ
  16. He did! I call it "Fast Runs" Hmmm..lol
  17. My story is, that the grey car thought by putting a V8 in it that it would be able to keep up with the Yellow Z the fastest s30 in the area....sad to say this wasn't that case as you can see the paint was blown right off and lapped at a HPDE! Grey/primer Z driver says to himself, "I have work to do!"......tears the car apart to start all over again! Unknown to him, the yellow Z driver bought another Z with a faster V8...keeping him KING of Zs in the tri-state!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I grow up I want to be like JOE!
  18. Exactly! That yellow Z is the fastest s30 in the tri-state!!!
