Ooooo thanks, I was trying to think of all the stuff that would make it pig rich. He replaced that too, but i'll put my home made fuel pressure guage on it. But I think I got it licked!!

1983 280zxt TURBO!!! all stock. 5 speed. The guy said it had a fuel problem, and it sat for over a year inside a storage unit. He replaced the injectors, the cold start valve, plugs wires. New rear axles, boots struts all the way around. New brakes. Rebuilt turbo. It came with $$thousands in receipts$$ I got it home and changed the oil. It had LOTS of gas in it. Put in some new plugs, cleaned ALL connectors. Then retuned the AFM the spring had been moved thats why it was sooooo rich. It purs like a kittin!!! I drove it down the road and it runs and drives great!

That is a super clean install. I hope it starts for you. Double check everything which you probly have. make sure your rubber floor plugs don't leak. I could'nt sleep just thinking about it all. Good luck!! nice video also, I love the videos.

120mph? faster than my stock breaks can handle? I heard one, maby 2ish pings. I let off the gas and saw a cloud of blue smoke. I new it was over. The car still pulls hard, and runs and idels just fine. Just smoking out the valve cover which means its over Johnny.

Too late..........I blew it up today!! It's blowing smoke out the valve cover, again. All I need are rings to put together another turbo motor. I've got bearings, turbo pistons, turbo f54 block. Pulling 20 psi of boost in 4th. Trying to tune to get ride of some detonation, when detonation got rid of my $100 short block. Oh well no big deal. I kinda figured that it was gonna go anyway. I still don't have the money to build anything serious, just a basic stock turbo lower end.

I know, I know, I need to turn it down. I have a spare block (3) actually. One turbo f54, one non turbo f54, and the original n42. I need to build one of them with some goodies. I REALLY like the work your doing on you motor:icon52:

Yea, I was thinking of driving around on "low" boost setting of 15, and leave the "high" boost setting of 20 when that A-hole in the Vette at the light wants some of this?

I also had trouble with the plug on the bottom of the dizzy. My car would just die when you closed the hood? Found out that the hood hinge was pushing on my intercooler pipe, which pushed on the plug harness that went to the dizzy. It had cracked wires. I did away with the plug, rewired it and it works fine. Like Matt (who IS the man by the way) said, if megatune, and your tach are not seeing an RPM signal, neither is the vb921. I only burned mine up after setting my dwell way way way too high! I had no spark, but megatune still could see RPM when cranking the car. Here is kinda how to replace it by the way. and what sounds to be the same problem you are having? Its a small world. Thats me in the video by the way.

They don't own, or plan on owning.....O I don't know? A Datsun/Nissan car and might look to the web for help, and stumble across this site. That would be funny, and bad!! The Police might be the only answer? But you would have to make sure they never got the idea that it was you that called.

Mine went out but I still had an RPM signal. It could be your optical sensor inside the stock 83 280zx turbo dizzy. A new vb921 is about $5.00 from diyautotune.com so you could buy one, put it in, and see if that works????

muha ha ha ha ha, boost is like, ummm? crack! VERY addictive!! just a little bit more,.....ok, just a little more......mmmmm.... just a little more!!!! WOW 8 psi feels great, holy moly 10 psi feels awsome, lick my craper!! 15 psi is unbelievable, Oh my GOD!! 20 psi is the magic number, I have wood in my pants!! something like that?
