For sitting out in the weather the rust doesn't seem too bad compared to what the rest of the car looks like. Any 1st generation body is getting to be a hard find. Good luck...
Well, as one of those who have the responsibility to try and keep the highways safe it is always one reason or another for why someone has to constantly speed on the roads. But it is never their own fault!!! If you cannot be happy doing 10 to 13 over then you need to be ready to pay the price for your speed cravings. I personally get my thrills doing track events with NASA.
Once you have to knock on one door to inform someone that their loved one isn't coming home tonight you tend to have less tolerance with people who you see in traffic court and know them by name due to their heavy foot.
I personally hate the fines associated with tickets and feel points that cannot be removed from your DL is the better solution. 12 pts lose DL for 12 mos.
If the floorboards are in decent shape I wouldn't let it go. It is getting harder to find decent shells on the east coast. Most have already been worked on and the owners want a pretty price for them. BTW, how much does he want for it?
I earmarked those vents when they were on ebay. seller was "grndfx"
Don't know if he is still active or not. I used vents off 280ZX from Kennysgreenn280zxt donor car.
Just got back from dyno today and got my my numbers after switching to N42 head (>10.5:1), 6-1 header from MSA and reworking SU carbs.
Previous # 121 rwhp 123 torque
New # 165.83 rwhp 163.44 lb-ft @ 5400 rpm.
HP was still going up as we shut down test.
2nd run matched first after 15 minute cool down.
Not bad gains for free head and $250 header.
A little extra info to think about is weight. I just went out to the shop and weighed my tires.
Hoosier DOT 16x10 23 lbs
16 x 8.5 19 lbs
Versus Goodyear Slicks 16 x 12 18 lbs
For what it is worth I just removed my dash in my 260 (reading somewhere in here I would lose 50-60lbs) was actually 25lbs.
Stock seats were 30 lbs each.
My Hoosier DOT bias tires 16x8.5 weigh 21 lbs each. Hoosier web site puts new slicks at 20 lbs each.
I had 16x10 on the rear of my 260. Decided it was too much tire and had them cut down to 8.5. Worked much better but still have alittle tire rub. Need to cut fender lip off and use some flares.
