Looks good Jeff. I am not sure how much of this storm we are going to get. But the local news is eating it up right now with super bonus coverage of TS Fay. Yahoo!!!! Luckily it is my day off so I do not have to be out in it unless they call us and cancel our days off. Might have to accidently not here the phone ring. Tom

Yea, you and me both. It is the old 3 piece spoiler they do not make anymore. I have been looking for quite a while to find one but have been unsuccessful. If only a company that was solvent could come in a do all of these parts again it would be great. But economics say that there is not enough of a market for these products just for S30s. Maybe if I hit the Lottery this could be my new occupation and get out of the law enforcement business. Tom

Did not mean for this to be a discussion of whether what I do out on the road is good or bad, or if there are cops who push it too far. It was just to say that I thought it was very cool that a fellow Z owner was the only one to give me some room on the side of the road. Sometimes you tend to forget how people who have a passion for their cars also turn out to be really good people at heart. I am sure some of us would stop to help someone broke down on the side of the road, but all of us would stop for a fellow Z driver. I hope... Tom

Just a little note to share with everyone who thinks the country is going to hell in a hand basket. I had this car pulled over this morning for going just a little too fast. 85/65 with me sitting in a marked patrol car right on the shoulder of the expressway. In FL they have a new law called the "Move Over Law". Basically if on a multi lane roadway you are suppose to move over a lane for any emergency vehicle on the shoulder. Fire, rescue, or in my case law enforcement. As I was standing next to the vehicle giving her a little ticket I looked back at the traffic coming at me. Approx 6 to 7 cars using both lanes. The only car to move over was a blue 90ish 300ZX with a younger male driver. Made me feel good that a fellow Z car driver gave me some extra room out on the road. And that after me usually getting on all you guys for your enthusiastic driving on the roads. Thank you blue Z man, Tom

I can tell you that having to work the road everyday that the number of cars on the roads have not declined. And that is not just people commuting to work. The pleasure drivers are still out in force every day and keeping me in a job. Now if I can find the time to go out track my car would be a different story. Tom

You would not be getting the full benefit of a stroker motor, especially one built by Rebello, if you do not allow it to rid itself of all the exhaust gases efficiently as possible. You can keep the noise down by the type of muffler you put on. Tom

A few new photos of the "baby" after new shoes and a bath....

Speaking of the rear spoiler, can you tell me where you got it from? I think for a track car those 3 piece spoilers could offer some more down force do to it wrapping down onto the sides of the rear quarters. Tom -
If you can find a local radiator shop they usually can dip them for you. That is what I did with my old tank, then have them seal it or you can do the sealing yourself. Tom

Sounded pretty nice but not being able to see the road freaked me out. If you moved camera up a little you could show off some of the scenery from where you live instead of just the tree tops flying by. Bet it felt good getting it back on the road. Makes me miss not having a road Z to drive around town. Makes me want to get back out on the track sooner. Tom -
Finally got me a new bike!! Bite me gas prices!!

Not to sound like an old grandma, but I just had 2 crashes this week with motorcyclist we had to fly out with air care. Just be carteful, a lot of people will not see you. Tom -
Well I am the last person to claim to be a math wizard but I am just posting the results from my latest dyno run. If the scan came thru you can discuss the merits of it. Tom

Jon, I am running MSD 6A with stock distributor. I have wanted to change out cams but cannot decide on how wild to go. I actually have the MSA Stage III .460 lift with 270/280 duration.. What specs do you think would be good for my engine and track use car only. Yes I know that I baby my car as far as rpms are concerned. My buddy tells me that everytime we do a track event together and I am shifting way too low in rpm range. But I look at it as just fun and this motor has lasted 6 yrs of track events with comp still at 210 across all 6 cylinders. Tom

I had an owl fly into the opened passenger window and get slammed into the rear window. Freaked me out. At least it died instantly so when I pulled it from the rear window area it didn't attack me. Still made me feel sad for awhile. It didn't do anything wrong to die like that. Just wrong place wrong time. Tom

Well I finally got to the dyno to see if going to triples increased HP. Previous Setup - L28 block .040 , N42 w/Stage II cam, 6-2 header dual SUs. 165.8 rwhp 163.4 lb-ft @ 5500 rpm New 45mm OER carbs with short runner intake, airhorns and K&N filters 184.5 rwhp 177.2 lb-ft @ 6200 rpm. A/F ratio stayed close to 13.5 for most of pull. I was quite happy with results and this might finally let some people see what can be gained by going to triples. There is probably a little more still in the motor due to the fact I did not go to about 6800rpm plus the carbs have not been tuned to my car. Just a little more info then the butt dyno response you get from a lot of people. Tom

As a fellow 260 owner getting 40hp more w/o some type of engine swap is going to be hard to do. I switched to a 280 block, N42 head with mild cam with dual SU carbs and barely got into the low 160s rwhp. I have my car stripped out for track use only so I have all my interior pieces, less dash, if you do not want to buy brand new. Just drop my a pm. The 260 is rare only due to the fact they made it only 1 year. Tom

You also need to watch how much surface material has been milled off the N42. Especially since that is a sought after head for N/A cars. Mine had been milled so much by past owners that my CR went to way over 10.5:1. I have to use 105 race gas to get rid off all the detonation. Tom

Looks like I am going the wrong way again. I sold my 911 to get back to a Z car mainly due to cost associated with newer high performance cars. I know if you sit down and do all the math you probably spend close to the same less cost of initial car. I was wanting a track dedicated car only and my budget could not see a 50 to 75K car sitting most of the year in the garage. But that Vette sure looks sweet along with the 911. Maybe if my 6 numbers ever come in I will go back to that route for track fun. Tom

Pretty cool. Looks like some styling cues from Panoz Esperante and a little TRV. Tom

Looks good, especially the flares. But somebody stole your motor and dropped some type of imposter motor in there........ Cannot wait until the fall of the year to do a couple of track events. Summer is just too hot if it is just for fun. Tom

Skipped Spring again and right into summer weather. Well almost, mid 80s day 70 at night. Just not at 95% humidity yet. Tom

This past week I just saw a show on TLC called Mr Electric Gadget or Dr Electric Gadget. He has a shop out in CA and does electric cars. That show was about doing a 1967 Camaro for some rock/alternative band singer. It was pretty cool but the best part was when they sent it to the paint/body shop the guy had 2 S30s in there getting restored. This Camaro smoked the tires pretty impressively during the final ride sequence. Tom

Cool idea of using your air vent to house your water temp gauge. Looks like you need a passenger to do video so you can free up those hands for driving. Tom

I agree with everyone else on your build. I had cut my exhaust system in half having it exit right under driver seat. Another racer told me to try it to lose a couple of pounds and free up some hp. Found it to be a big mistake and went to local muffler shop and they wanted over $175 just to put in about 6' of piping. Being able to do it yourself is great. Tom
