I like it Blue. OK: The building is 23 floors, with 8 or 9 stacks, so a lot of people. The funny thing is, the building isn't all THAT nice/upscale, (things constantly break down and its only about a decade old), and the surrounding area (across the street and the street directly behind the building) is always littered with bottles and trash. Think of the building like an oasis in the sea of ghetto (pretty literally too!). I think most of the hassle is from my car, from what I stated before, and I've only been living there since the beginning of Jan. So I can also think of the "fresh meat" mentality.

Car vomits oily stuff out the exhaust
Blitz21 replied to Blitz21's topic in Trouble Shooting / General Engine
Great minds T-Bone, I already tried that (against a wall, not with paper), and it is just gases, no solid-ish stuff. And yes I don't have a cat. So, in essence if I installed a cat it -should- dissapear? Or at least not paint the driveway black? -
I like your thinking z2go. Basically its a high rise apt building, where the bottom 3 floors are parking, and its concrete. If I really wanted to (which I just might at this point) is go around the parking lot and see all the cars that are "not following the rules" like I am. I can already think of about 6 spaces. Oh, and after parking my car in my space after I tried cleaning it, and when I put the cardboard down, the guard actually followed me, waited for me to turn off the car and get out, and then said "you can't park here, remember? And the cardboard don't cut it even when it under the car". Yes just like I typed it. BUT, oh well. I'll try the thinner and if it doesn't work I'll suck it up and be a good boy and pay out the a$$ for cleaners and never park there again. In the end, this was just a big rant I wanted to get off my chest. Thank you for the input/opinions/remarks/etc. Due to circumstances I am living here, if I could afford my own place or get friends to rent a place I would, but for the time being I am here, so I just get to make due. Many thanks.

@sparks: It was my grandmas place, she moved to an assisted living place so I essentially took it over, and as I'm suuuuppperrrrr broke I don't really have enough cheese to have a place of my own anymore. (I did once upon a time, but when the economy went away, so did my place). I'm not trying to bash on HOA (contrary to my title), I can understand their regulations and routines, I would just rather be free to do my own thing. @modern: Trust me, when I first got here I did the whole "Howdy neighbor" routine, but about 93% of them were in their own stuck up world, so I said F that after a while. @zxtoy: Owning a house with a garage is my dream (isn't it everyone's?). But I will definitely try thinner, since the Simple Green, Super Orange, and cat litter didn't do a whole lot. @JSM: ....I'm not sure I catch what you're saying. A drip pan magnetized to the bottom of the car? or.....?

I see. Well, it's just one big building and the HOA covers everything, the condo, the parking spots, etc. I know that much for sure.

Funny you should mention that Hoov, I said something along those same lines and they said they would have my car towed (which I can probably sue), and the cardboard part "there can be nothing on, in front, or around the assigned parking space", even though I see bikes chained in front of other peoples' spots and 3 cars that haven't moved since I've been there. (You also can't have a car parked in the same position for more than 2 weeks, otherwise its considered 'stored' and therefore not allowed). Other than that, maybe I should take a page from your book and see what will happen if I do what you did, at least there will be entertainment.

I know the cat litter tip, but I dont know if it would still work on stains that have been there for a while (had a chance to soak in). Ha, I can almost imagine getting heckled for "working on the parking spot". Of course that would be udderly absurd. (yes I know I purposely misspelled utterly)

'73 240 with stroker l28 running efi Whenever I start the car and as it warms up, it sprays out black oil-like stuff onto the ground. Think of if you shot some black spray paint parallel to the ground, thats what it looks like. I'll have pics up later. I have the stock hose from the valve cover to the intake, all the smog stuff is removed. I don't know what the substance is. Of the friends I asked, they said water/condensation to fuel. It doesn't evaporate and it looks to thick and black to be water. Also, if some of you happend to see my post in the non tech section, yull understand the importance of getting this fixed ASAP. Thank you much folks.

Yeah I already know most of that, and Im going to try the simple green when I get off work, but the main draw is that the place is (kinda, almost) rent free, besides the $800 A MONTH for homeowners fees haha. And I'm probably being heckled more because I'm not over 65, I don't own a Porche, BMW, Benz, Jag, etc. @19752+2: Trust me I'd rather have my own garage, its been my dream since I got a car, but in downtown Long Beach its hard to come by a garage, or even a car port unless you are in a complex (like I am) and you have your own spot, which brings me back to square 1.

So I get a call from my apt. building manager saying "4 people called me and are irate about the oil spots in your parking space". 'ok, and?' "And if you don't get it cleaned up we'll have to fine you and take you to a hearing" '...over an oil spot'. "Yes. It's causing our other tenants much distress, so until then don't park your car in your spot or in the visitors section until your car is fixed." 'Sorry but that's just how my car is, unless yu'll give me some money for a overhaul, heh' "That's not funny, and I've heard you have been working on your car again" 'No, I only did that once and I already got reported for it, thanks' So after a lot more of her bitching, in the end, I have to pay for some cleaning guys to come in and "clean/extract" the oil spots, and then never park in my spot again, unless someone knows how to fix black soot-like stuff spewing from my exhaust when I start it up and to stop my diff from leaking. Many lawls.

Brake rotor brands and quality
Blitz21 replied to Scott_M67's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
The place I work for sells the Mountain rotors and we haven't heard of any problems. -
I'd hope for ignorant, but the way he was describing it....hmm.

I didn't know SU's were that rare. He makes it sound like they're the last on earth. lol

Anything on a RX-7 FD. Not only is it cramped, even the simplest parts are stupidly overpriced. Doing a motor swap on a RX-8; it's bolted to the subframe. But don't worry! Mazda sells a tool that can take the whole front subframe with motor and trans all at once. The price? A cool $3k. ....for what's essentially a stand.
-
I have a buddy selling a 2006 Mazda MX-5 miata for around $15k and has roughly 16k miles. It has a 6 speed "blah blah" package with traction, power, roll bar, etc. ....Use the trunk as a "backseat" no worries!

Completely love it. I've also been following the other install threads. Since you said you need to calibrate the speedometer, I'm assuming you didn't get the GPS type? Is there any reason why you didn't (I was thinking about getting the GPS but I keep having this dumb idea of it suddenly going "lost satellite reception" or something lol). EDIT: The color was the regular blue right? I noticed there is a Cobalt Blue also.

Sweet, joined. But I need more recent pics of my z

I don't have any pics right now, but I know of one at a shop I go to. It was a factory option, and pretty much has no function other than its vinyl on the roof. It's a good find though since not many people have it.
