  1. Well Mike, I can finally see what happened from your point of view---you never posted about it before, but I guess we all know what transpired now. Thanks for sharing about the situation with them; too bad. MSA is a good venue with a lot of cars. Heh, at least I won't sweat it this next year if I don't finish in time!! I do have to give credit to Yuichi and all the folks that made Z-FEST a great show last year in the SF Bay Area. After talking with Kyle and Yuichi, they really think that if Z-FEST is put on for a couple of more years, it will be bigger then the MSA Nat's. The great thing is that it is NOT vendor specific, and it is NOT limited to judging by one company or organization. The best thing is: it's in the same city where I live!! Davy
  2. I absolutely love the twin turbo V8 engine with the tilt front end. Hopefully the image works: Davy
  3. NPR really?!? I'd like to see how it fits into your Z. Davy
  4. Ross should really be the guy putting the facts here, but just a guess would lead one to believe that the balance would not be great in a 4 to 5 lug...still, VW bugs used these kinds of adapter for years that I'm aware of, but those cars lack serious power or RPMs for that matter. Better email Ross and ask him for yourself, then post back!! Davy

    1st KILL

Sometimes it feels good to step on the underpriv...oh, I mean 'underpowered.' Just wait until you are finished with that beast. Taking on bigger fish will be even better. Davy
  6. Mike, get at least one together for the next MSA meet if you can. Gosh, now that I think about it, that would be one looong drive... Davy

    A Christmas Ode

    Waaaaay cool! Merry Christmas!!! Davy
  8. I am actually turbocharging an 350. Good advice about the books---I have three that I'm constantly looking at, but I never jump to answer a question such as this; I just read through the thing from beginning to end I think the larger ports would be more ideal for maximum power in a turbocharged EFI setup. Davy
  9. The T5 can be found in mid 1980's to early 1990's Camaros with the 305 V8. The 153 tooth flywheel is smaller then the 168 tooth flywheel, so it would be logical it would be lighter. Davy
  10. Naw, I did and sent the link to my bro in Taiwan. We both had a good laugh Davy
  11. Very cool GNX. I would like a GN daily driver... Davy
  12. Baddest of them all: Monkeemobile Davy BTW, Batman would kick Speedracer's... No offense to the guys who liked Speedracer as a kid. Even then, I thought he was not exactly 'manly' enough to enjoy the notoriety he had. Racer X looked menacing enough, but Batman (The Dark Knight) is a baaaaad dude he can't mess with.
  13. I have used SEM with great success. The ONLY time it did not work correctly was when the surface was not prepped correctly. I suspect that you have some kind of leather conditioner or oils, etc, that are still there. That would be the only thing holding it back from taking the dye/paint properly. If you could get it, carbontetrachloride is AWESOME stuff for getting out any contamination from fabrics, etc. Too bad it is a bit toxic and very hard to find now. They used the stuff as a dry cleaning fluid way back when. Davy
  14. So what if boost is thrown into the mix--what does that do to the combo? Davy
  15. Looks pretty nice, but I'd have to LOVE the car I'd buy for $22K, and that Z is not it. Now, supercharge it and paint some flames.... Davy
  16. Let's just say that you'll be money ahead by buying a completed car. There have been quite a few NICE cars for sale on this board in the very recent past. The blue one from the military guy in Texas was perhaps the biggest bargain, and had custom bodywork to boot. Doing it yourself will cost $5000 at the very minimum. It may cost less, but these things just snowball in a hurry. There are deals out there, but you gotta be looking. Davy
  17. A good driveshaft shop can fab one up from scratch for you, or they can modify (shorten) a Chevy driveshaft for you--one from the junkyard should do just fine. Find one with good smooth ends for a leakproof seal. Davy
  18. Man, I love those things too, but I have to put the money towards Z car mods, not fancy collectibles. Still, if anyone in the forum is feeling generous, the Cobra coupes are looking pretty sweet this year! Davy
  19. No no. It seems nearly all Z's have some rust on them, but make sure that the one you pick does not have it in the critical areas. By that I mean structural areas, like the frame rails, unless you plan to tube frame the car and tub it. Battery box rust is no big deal unless you buy a car like Pete Paraska did; his site is EXCELLENT for information and modification: Pete's site There is a lot of info here and on other sites like 240Z.com and Zcar.com Just don't tell them you are doing a V8 swap, or you'll find out why this site exists. Davy
  20. Three things: rust, rust, and..uh...rust. That's three things. Check the rocker panels, floors, battery tray area, frame rails, etc. If you see rust bubbling up in these areas or in totally conspicuous areas (on the surface of the car) then stay away. Not a good V8 candidate. Davy
  21. If that is in Canadian dollars... then it is a steal for anyone in the US!!! Cripes! Davy
  22. Thanks for the great update, Sam! Keep up the good work and NEVER worry about the grades on a temporary basis. I thought I would die when I achieved a miserable 1.X GPA. I just kept at it and finally graduated. My GPA was never really stellar, but I have had some good jobs and I continue to learn MORE from my work and job experience then I ever did in school. BTW, make sure you are getting plenty of exercise and healthy food as well. Good job!! Davy
  23. Nice car...even nicer house Davy
  24. Randy, I have been reading about those injectors you have in Fuel Injection and the guy really likes them. They are supposed to be one of the best around. Where did you get them and how much $$$???? Davy
  25. Aux, I'm wondering what he is running for a turbo--you have the link to the site, or is that a pic you snapped at the races? Let me know. I'd love to dump this big Schwitzer turbo. It is almost the same size that guy's is. Davy
