  1. Mike, the I believe the 260Z (late) and 280Z (for sure) have a slightly different door panel, at least where the holes line up for the window crank, door handle, etc. That will require another mold. I believe he has plans for that, but right now it is for the 240Z. Davy

    I need help

If you cannot do a tuneup yourself, get it to a mechanic and tell him what you want it to do. A normally running 260Z should pass smog. Wow, I'm shocked that Kalifornia exempts the '74 from the smog checks but Nevada does not. That's stupid since Nevada's population (car's & people) is a FRACTION of my state's is. Davy
  3. I have some of these, but not (yet) mounted on the back. To actually mount these assemblies you'll have to do some modification to the metal behind the taillights after removing the meatl plates/trim holding in the original lights. There is no way to easily do this without some kind of modifications somewhere. I like the look of the entire R32 assembly so my thought is to incorporate them as defined units into a fiberglass surround. The lights themselves are not very big and kind of get lost in a flat fiberglass panel, so keeping the assembly intact would look better IMO. It will be a while before I ever do this, but I have it in my head! Davy
  4. Beautiful car and very nice work! You get total kudos from me! BTW, it still needs a V8... Davy
  5. So you have a ZX? That is not really an option at the moment, unfortunately. If you had the skill to adapt one of these panels, then you probably have the skill to fabricate one yourself---I'm not being rude here, just stating the facts since I think the ZX door panel is an entirely different animal altogther. This primary run will be for the 240 and 260 cars, sorry. Davy
  6. I spoke to him and he'll incorporate armrests only after the intial run without armrests is made. I don't have a time or date for that. First things first and we'll get some feedback from the members who want the simpler panel first. Davy
  7. Yes, you did make that suggestion. I'll talk to him about it, but I can't guarantee anything. The mold is getting more and more complicated with each thing added, but I'll ask him about that. Davy
  8. Awesome. I was wondering how the heck do I replace those ugly things when voila' date=' here it is. Thanks for posting that. USEFUL INFO! That's why I love this site. Again, thanks for posting that info. Davy
  9. John Coffey at Beta Motorsports once sent a friend of mine some ID numbers for different trannys which, if I remember correctly, were for competition units. He'll either see this thread or you can email him. He's an Admin at this site. Davy
  10. I'm one of the people who really like that front end. I don't think it is mismatched for the car at all. I'd love to see the same thing produced so much that I have passed along the picture to my fiberglass friend so he can duplicate one. There's money in front airdams since every Z 'needs' one. Davy
  11. I think on the second page of the posting we mentioned just under $200 for both. I'd like to keep it under $200 for the Z crowd, but it is totally up to Pete. I think he'll be OK at or below what we're talking about. Davy
  12. http://www.gmsports.com/ If you are going to have the tranny shipped from someplace anyway, you might want to call these folks. They have had a good reputation in the past and on occasion might actually have what you need. Davy
  13. Mmmmm, tasty. I like the fact you used Libre mags from the '70's with 60 series tires to get a 'period' look---nicely done. Davy
  14. Thanks a million, Jaime, you're true old school cool. I'm not sure about which side he needs, but I'll find out and let you know. Thanks again!!! Davy
  15. No...at least not yet. Due to the price (and my friend's lack of experience with CF), I doubt he'll offer it in CF. The panels will be smooth fiberglass and will most likely remain as such from my friend. The reason is that so many people have different preferences for a finished door panel (paint, vinyl, leather, CF, Kevlar/CF mix, etc). Better to offer a simpler product at first and then go from there. I'll post more pictures as the progression continues. Davy
  16. Nice & quick! That car really rocks! Davy
  17. These are the latest photos and they give a pretty good visual of what the finished panels will look like despite this being only roughed in with plaster at the moment. The speaker looks rather diminutive but it is actually a 6.5". I may end up having to get another sacrificial 240Z door panel *ugh*. Davy
