  1. That's it, baby! LS1!! Sooo, what are you unloading the 350 for? Davy
  2. Matt, lemme know if you have any left---I'd take 1. Davy
  3. I bought the Stage 8 bolts for my block huggers. They fit fine and I don't think I'll lose any of the C (E?) clips for that matter. I had to cut them slightly to make them fit perfectly, but it was no biggie since the clips are made of soft aluminum. BTW, stainless steel wire is cheaper and looks good when done well IMO. That said, to remove it and then reinstall more than once would start to get old really fast. Davy
  4. I think you might have accomplished two things, Jeromio: the first is keeping the airdam deflection down, and the second is improving the airflow. I think the first is the most probable. Nice idea. Post some pics if you're proud of your work BTW, we're getting close to bellypans with this topic :see thread "Bellypans for aerodynamics" from a few years ago. Davy
  5. Glad to hear you still have the Z!! Davy
  6. Golly, I'll have to dump my 3rd gen RX7 rack I pulled from the JY a few years ago. It can bolt up nicely, but it is about and inch or two longer on one side. Glad you found a power rack that's centered. Davy
  7. Funny, I was thinking about this thread today after reading it last night about the posted answers and it rubbed me the wrong way, despite the fact that the questions have been answered before. Datman didn't come across as a dreamer to me because he 1) used very good grammer and 2) took the time to actually write out paragraph to explain what he was doing and what he wants. I think most people living in Europe or Australia are fairly serious about a Z car simply because they are so incredibly rare there. Let's give some people slack. FWIW, the one's I like to smack around are the turds that post in the worst grammer with no punctuation whatsoever Davy
  8. I actually like it, so I suppose I'm in the minority here. I do agree that Boobala's photoshop of the nixxed upper holes looks much better. Also, the market lights stick out too much now--a simple fix would be the Hyundai Excel (sp?) side markers. I'm not one for the color, but with some wide wheels, flares, and a black paint job, it would be the money!! Davy
  9. Oh lust...looking sweet! I love Z bodyparts with fresh paint on them *yum*. The car will look great once reassembled. keep us updated!! Davy
  10. Whoa, Andy, back from the dead! You still have your Z? I thought you might have sold it since you have been hanging with the rich and famous in boatland. Nice to see you posting!! I'll back up what Andy said about the long tubes--it has been discussed before and he's right as per the previous threads on the subject. If you are going for real drag race car and don't care too much about ground clearance, the long tubes are the way to go, otherwise the block huggers are sooo much easier to manage. Yeah, I know I know, they aren't real headers, but they do the job and are (here it is again) easy to manage. Davy
  11. Nothing wrong with "free" parts or money, but be aware they must get somethign out of it too... Davy
  12. Looks good, but are my eyes playing tricks on me or is the rack longer on side than the other, or is the rack centered? If the former, will that cause any issues with steering as the suspension goes up and down? Just curious. Davy
  13. That was great from the beginning when the camera twitched to the engine starting up all the way to the end from when the camera jolted as the front came down a bit on decelleration! Davy
  14. Mike, thanks for the picture! I'll see what we can do with it. Great for reference, anyway. Pete, the fabricator has already seen the pic and we're talking about it. Spotfitz, we're trying to make it happen asap, but cannot make promises. If it is possible, we'll make our best effort to get 'r done! Davy
  15. They come from Japan from a late model Skyline to my knowledge. Look up "all posts" from that member and you'll find a long thread pertaining to his car where he answers a lot of those kinds of questions. Just a thought. Davy
  16. Oh yeah. I've been contacted by few guys in Europe and now Australia for some panels. I don't think it will be a problem, just costly for shipping. Good thing the panels are darn light. I'll let eveyone know when my friend Pete has them made to ship out. Davy
  17. Pete, I'm getting mixed messages about the differences between the two. Someone mentioned that the only difference is the place where the door lock is. If that's true, then heck, we can drill a hole anywhere we darn well please. I need to get a look at a 280Z door and panel. I'm hoping Kyle (innerware) can shoot me a stock 280Z door panel one of these days or maybe I can get out to a wrecking yard soon. I dunno. Hold on for the time being. I'll announce it if they are the same or what we can do to modify the 240Z panels when they are finished. In any event they're next on the list. Davy
  18. Funny, that. I like the 'standard' look vs the 'reverse' look. Just my $.02. You'll have a sweet car once it's finished. Ah, wish I was there with my Z... Davy
  19. Try building it for your first engine and get it done. You'll learn a lot along the way too. As far as the turbo brand is concerned, they claim Garrett internals, but I think the snails are made in China---make sure you let us know how these pieces hold up. Good luck Davy
  20. I really like how you painted the interior pieces to accent the exterior color---the woofer/speaker mount(?) enclosure(?) looks like it turned out great. Nice work! Davy

    I need help

PCV = Positive Crankcase Ventilation. It is a valve, probably plastic, that you should replace once in a while. Take the advice above and put a new one in, change your oil, do a tuneup. Also, buy a repair manual---they have pictures and good stuff, like information Davy
  22. Thanks for kind words, Mike. I'll keep you posted with progress. Davy

    Life?

If you are GOOD at something, do that, my friend. If you have a keen interest in something, pursue that. If you don't know what you want, drink a beer. Anyway, figuring out what you want is sometimes the most difficult thing to do. You can go back to school, get a degree, and then go look for work. Or you can start a business. If you go back to living with your dad, you could put an internet ad out and be a computer repair contractor, making say $30/hr. Who were your former employer's clients? Tell them you'll do the same work for $25/hr. Think about it. Davy
  24. Extremely creative fabrication on their part. If only that were done to the SRT version... Davy
