  1. Looks pretty good. I think a V8 in there might work a bit better for what you want to do The L motor sticks out kinda far and prevents you from having a better angle. Here is Terry O's car that uses a similar (GT-40) design: Davy
  2. Just how much bigger and/or wider are the Mustang rims? I'm assuming you mounted them to get more rubber under the car, yes? They don't look too bad on there... Davy
  3. Great looking splitter! Just be careful going up and down the driveway... Davy
  4. I like the cowl induction units because they look the cleanest IMO. I personally like the ones that have the non-90 degree sides, but rather slope gently on all sides. They go with the lines of the car more IMO. Davy
  5. *Ugh* besides the house, the kids, their activities, and the wife? Perhaps the only 'hobby' I have besides letting the Z deteriorate is Kajukenbo (fighting). I find that martial art actually relaxes me mentally, stimulates me physically, and provides me a legal means to belt somebody. What more can I ask for? Davy
  6. http://www.baddogparts.com/index.htm They list headlight buckets for sale @ $30 each. Is that cheap enough? Davy
  7. You may have some repair work ahead of you--floorpans and engine compartment rust is common and there are replacement parts available for the floors, so don't get bent. The car looks great for $1000---what more can you ask for? Use the search function and look at all the repairs guys have done to their cars to cure them of cancer (on the car that is). Nice looking car... Davy
  8. The only difference in the front ends visually is the bumper. Ditch the bumper and the heavy brackets/shock thingies and then bolt on a 240Z air dam. You'll have to fab your own brackets for a 240Z bumper if you choose to go the bumper route. Or you can do what my friend Auxilary did: use a 280 air dam and adapt some curvy, yet small, turn signal indicators from a motorcycle. Basically, you are not stuck with a 280 front end... Davy
  9. Whoa. We had a composting pile far out in the backyard when I was growing up and I always saw those big black wasps. I NEVER knew what they were and only killed one when I was a kid. Man, I think I would have freaked out had I known what it was. Thanks for posting that, Jon. You solved one of those lingering questions I have always had, because no one I know could tell me what those insects were. Yuck. Davy
  10. Andrew, I was at first skeptical when I read your post, but then I looked at the pictures and realized you were legit. You see, there have been others that have attempted (and abandoned) the same swap you are completing. I became more impressed when I went through your website of the previous TTZ28. I like your 'junkyard/DIY' theme (that is: not necessarily pretty, just something that actually WORKS and that you can easily do yourself--awesome!) throughout the site. It looks like you have done your best to keep costs at a minimum by buying used parts that will do the job with little or no 'bling.' CarCarft would applaud you and so do I! I didn't see any timeslips for the Camaro; were there any? What did the car run before CARNAGE happens? Davy
  11. I was doing some yard work in the sun a number of years ago and had my shirt off. I feel what I thought was sweat on by stomach...but it was moving up instead of down! Looked down and saw a black widow making her way up the 'trail of happiness' to my chest and freaked out! Flicked her off and made sure she became part of the walkway. Davy
  12. 240Z has gutted interior but some new weatherstripping---still trying to find out where the water is coming in. Some bodywork done: drip rails shaved and C-pillar vents shaved. 350 V8 is basically ready on an engine stand, although I have some aluminum heads with roller rockers that I need to install, but I may wait until everything is in the car and running first before I do yet another thing. Hmmmm, JTR parts, check. Radiator, check. Q45 diff, check. Subtle Z hood, check, 1-off airdam, check, 3" mandrel bent exhaust, check. Coil-overs, check. New seats, check. New guages, check. Anything I forgot?...gotta check Not going to be finished for a while. House comes first. Davy
  13. Mike, wasn't that the same engine bay I just saw in primer?! Man, you work fast! Looks very nice, especially without runs Davy
  14. REALLY?!? I need to buy the book too!! Tyson, if you find the part #'s please post 'em. Gracias. Davy
  15. Pick up the grape between your thumb and forefinger and sqeeze Davy
  16. Anyone know who sells the 90 degree part of the intake that attaches to the TB??? I see them on cars, but I don't know what company sells them. Crapola. Davy
  17. LOL! Yeah, I feel the same way, but the awesome nature of the engines goes a long way to minimizing any negative feelings I have for them!!! And that V8 is certainly one I could live with in a Z car!!! Thanks for posting the pictures. Davy

    Get over it!

Sumo was simply surprised at what was going on and posted his reaction, simple as that. I think that is the point of the thread, not to necessarily bad mouth Norm. So far, I can't see anything incorrect or not factual with Sumo's post. BTW, I was an advocate for Norm, yet he decided to refer to the admin (I'm a quasi-admin) as inbred. Not nice. Davy
  19. Looks like a million buck, Dale! is the car what you'd thought it would be? I remember the car having 18" mesh wheels and not the Rewinds it has now. Looks better now IMO. Great work on the paint!!! Davy
  20. Although I do not like the color, the Porsche GT has a cool interior. Hmmm, sort of anticlimactic after looking at the Zonda... Davy
  21. Pagani Zonda gets my vote... Davy
