  1. You and me both, I can't find a good pair of 240z turn signals w/out someone price gouging the heck out of me...
  2. rpf1s? Very nice! Any side shots? What are wheel/tire dimensions?
  3. Cleaned out the garage and was able to park her in there before the big storm! Nice and cozy The Z and the G what can I say I'm a Nissan guy
  4. I've been thinking of trying to get some black rsx leather seats and making those fit. I'm looking for seats that have the forward slide function as I have a 2+2 and I don't want to lose access to my rear seats.
  5. Has anyone ever shipped a long block? What were the best/cheapest companies to do so? I've guy who wants to sell a l28et in az but I'm all the way in Boston. I'm trying to find the most practical and cheapest shipping option. The largest items I've ever shipped before were wheels but those were through UPS and I don't think they do pallets... Can anyone chime in with experience or recommendations?
  6. I'll probably drive up for this thurs/friday the events list is looking great. Hopefully the car will be ready by then!
  7. At least you can find a place that does it. Most people around here don't want to even deal with my car... I think I don't have any other choice but to go to harbor freight pickup a spray gun, compressor, media and go to town on my own this winter. The bad part is I have no idea what I'm doing lol.
  8. Signed but there was another one of these petitions earlier this year that didn't get enough signatures... Maybe we should spread this on jalopnik to try to get enough petitions.
  9. I'm totally down for a shirt, hoodie and hat at the least. Quick question has anyone thought of doing a run of apparel/decals with the side outline of the Z? I saw an old forum member with a hat of this and I loved it more than the front view imho. I can't find the pics now (they're on my other computer) but its the same logo on the front of Tim 240z's shirt design the side sweeping outline with "Engineered to be feared" underneath it. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/32696-you-asked-shirts-and-caps-taking-orders/page__view__findpost__p__256316
  10. Wow nice find, it seems really clean for its age. That engine bay is pretty immaculate.
  11. No worries j240z, thanks for looking though!
  12. Nice video, I wonder if they would seriously revive the original Z though? Especially since they already have so many renditions of the current Z... There would be no harm in going in the direction of the original Z; a lighter more nimble chassis without the need for heaps of horsepower. I wonder if they feel pressure or see a market opportunity since the toyobaru is doing so well? Would they also keep the current "Z" line heavier but with more power and create a different "240 Z" line?
  13. I still need these parts, does anyone have them? Thanks Pat
  14. Hey all Does anyone have a 1983 280zx L28et alternator bracket with alternator bolts they can let go for cheap by any chance? http://www.nissanpartszone.com/components/1981-nissan-280zx_alternator-fitting-230-1394.html Part 11710 (Bracket) and 2300B (Bolts) for reference. Thanks Pat
  15. I probably won't be able to make it as I usually work sundays from 7-4. If you're still around town though I'd be down to meet up post work around 4/5pm.
  16. What kind of seats are they? Make/model/year?
  17. Sounds beautiful! I love how the motor sings and way to chirp those tires!
  18. Monday: Got the new rad and waterpump in the mail on Monday. Proceeded to remove old rad and water pump. Then I went ahead and installed the new water pump and everything was going smoothly until I go to mount the rad, the fit is so bad the mounting holes are completely off. I can't even drill into my frame to mount the darn thing because the brackets are too short in width. Good thing about the rad is (I got it off ebay) they offered free return shipping if it doesn't fit. Bad part is I wasted time waiting for it and have to ship it back. Tuesday: Checked the old rad (seems to be an aftermarket unit 3 row black w/plastic petcock) Ran water through it and water came out without any clogs. I changed the belt while the rad was out (might as well right?). Then I put the old rad back in and buttoned her back up but it seems the motor is still running hot. Things would be alot easier for me if my temp gauge was actually working (wiring issue). Next thing to do is just to wire an external temp gauge to check the motor temp. Rewind to why I was going to replace the water pump/rad. My car began to run really hot after I changed my fuel rail o rings. The engine bay would get so hot that my megasquirt relay board would overheat in the engine bay. Also my n42 intake manifold would be burning to the touch (so much that you can't keep your fingers on it). Heck the relays on the relay board were basically burning hot to the touch (another possible point of failure) Also the transmission tunnel would get hot to the point where it could burn your hand. This had never happened before and didn't happen when my temp gauge was working. Back to the drawing board for now, going to try to get the temp gauge working and then try to trouble shoot the overheating engine bay.
  19. Shipping is nice b/c you don't have deal with all the driving but road trips are great fun and as you said it would be a great opportunity to see a good portion of the country. Personally if I had the time I would have flown out and driven my car(s) home. Road trips can be tough but they are also great fun with friends/family/SO's and you can make a mini vacation out of it. As for shipping you do need someone there for pickup and dropoff to my knowledge (thats how it was when I've shipped my cars) Also theres always the worry something could happen during transit, although nothing has happened to any of my shipped cars so far. (Knock on wood) In short I would say if you had time to do the drive in a non-rushed manner, try to work out towing it home. You'll kill two birds with one stone as you can treat it as a roadtrip vacation and get the car home. Otherwise if its going to be really rushed and you won't be doing anything else but driving straight I would ship it. Also welcome to the Northeast if you ever come up to Boston let us know
  20. Pretty good movie in terms of entertainment, I watched it when it came out. Its not very accurate in technical terms but its a movie. Possible spoiler I'm a bit sad that they switched up some of the cars used in the series but they could only get so much into a 2 hour movie so it made sense. Akios first car is a z32 and not a z31 Kou chan drives a FD rx7 instead of a FC and Reina drives a R34GTR instead her R32GTR
  21. I ordered a new water pump and 3 core rad, hopefully they'll arrive by this weekend and I can do the install/get the car running normally again.
  22. Did you tow with the front or rear wheels on the road? If rear did you remove the driveshaft? I've always been told that if you tow a rwd vehicle you can really mess up the transmission/diff... I've always either gotten a flatbed or once when I had no choice towed with the front wheels on the ground. In my previous experience I've shipped plenty of cars and that might be a good alternative. The reason being with time and money spent driving, renting the towing setup, gas etc equals close to if not the same as shipping the car through a shipper. Both of my Z's I bought out of state, my first from the Las Vegas shipped all the way to Boston (Cost me ~$1000 all said and told) :edit I looked over the OP's post seems like he wants a truck to use and keep. I would honestly any v6 truck should be fine as long as the flatbed/dolley isn't huge.
  23. Got the new thermostat housing in with the new thermostat, but it seems the car is still overheating... *sigh looks like its time for a new rad. Is it normal for your intake manifold to be burning hot to the touch? As well as your intercooler piping?
