  1. Why not the stock EFI one? It is switched and provides power during crank. The EFI wiring diagram should tell you which one it is. Mario
  2. Ok, it's gonna look great once it done I bet. So is this a toy or a toy hauler? Mario
  3. Nice! To finish off the paint job, do some pinstriping where the paint meets. It doesn't have to be real pinstriping either. Thats what I did to my two tone ZX and it finished off the look nicely. Mario
  4. Disclaimer: It is only temporary! The pipes are ABS plastic, but it will all change in a few months to nice shiny Aluminum ones. I used 4 90* bends, but that will also change when I use Al pipes. If I cut and swivel the connections on the endtanks I am fairly sure you can get away with only one or two 90* bend. This was my first attempt so don't laugh http://www.mafoose.bobos.ca/IC/IC.htm Mario
  5. Beautiful engine! Why no blingin' damper? Mario
  6. What can I do about it? Install a BOV? (I thought the stock VCV was supposed to account for that) Will it be Ok if I run it like that? How much PSI can you run without a BOV or good recirc? Thanks again, Mario
  7. Does a fluttering intake indicate a leak?? I just finished installing my large NPR intercooler and if it is boosting and I shift gears I get a flutter. I don't have a BOV install, and am using the stock recirc valve. I can't tell if the turbo is overrevving mostly because I can't hear it at those rpms due to the open DP. Thanks in advance, Mario
  8. Sorry, I don't know what your problem is. Could you retype it? Mario
  9. Yea, the original speed sensor in a 280zx was used for activating the cruise control only above 35 mph, and for knowing when the car was moving to warn you about the parking brake, door ajar, etc. I believe the stock ECU uses air flow, air temp, coolant temp, and RPM. I belive that it has 3 predefined values, off idle, cruise with minor variation through the O2 sensor, and WOT. The ECU uses the TPS to know when the TB is closed, and when it is opened to add off-idle enrichment. It goes into WOT mode under high load and anything above 3500 rpms. The Turbo auto ECU goes in WOT by seeing high load AND the kick down switch (which is why some people who use the auto ECU in a 5 speed swap go lean under WOT if they don't leave this connected). Mario
  10. To me it looks like the glare is making the 8 and 3 look like zeros. That black Z looks shady though.... or that guy can't type to save his life. Mario
  11. On my ZXT I had the exact same problem 2 days ago. It ended up being the wire from the ignition switch to the starter that connects to it with a spade connector. It split somewhere inside the harness and did not have continuity. I ran my own and it works perfectly. It was the thick yellow wire coming out of my ignition switch. It sends 12v when the key is placed on the start position. Mario
  12. But they slow AT the switch/router etc. Cable is a BUS technology and you will see SIGNIFICANT slowdown if everyone in your are got it and started suffering the web at the modem. After this slow down, it will then slow down AGAIN at the ISPs switch/router/etc. Look to see what people have in your area. The only place in my town that I would consider cable is downtown because everyone there has DSL. In almost all the other parts of town, it can slow to a crawl! Mario
  13. Same here.... When you have a specific route to parts stores because some are more likely to have the parts then others. When you say "standalone engine management" they say it can't possibly be used on a daily driver. When you walk into a parts store and the first thing they ask is "how's the project coming" instead of "what parts do you need?". Mario
  14. That's amazing! Good luck on your project, Mario
  15. You can crank the boost close to 25 psi out of these with some modifications (so I heard), but it is TERRRIBLY inefficient, and its life will be shortened dramatically. I think these turbo's are better suited for smaller engines because they barely flow enough for the L28 (some even claim it chokes the engine in high rpms). Just what I've heard/read Mario
  16. I have DSL, and my family WAITED to get it. The ONLY cable company in town required you to get basic digital cable if you wanted internet service. They got rid of this requirement around x-mas. If you ordered it without cable tv, they put you on the back burner! We ended up cancelling our order for cable (after waiting over 1.5 months for nothing) and got 1.5mbps DSL for the same price (its actually closer to 1.3, but who's complaining?). Its great and very fast, and our neighborhood has crappy lines too but we haven't had problems. Cable slows down A LOT if everyone around you has it. I had a friend that would download at 150kbps onn a good day, but come a holiday or Friday night, it would drop to 60kbps! See what they're offering and what's easier to install. I vote for DSL. Mario
  17. Yes it is, so is Kazaa, Limewire, Morpheus etc. The best place IMO is a RESPECTABLE (read: registration required) Torrent website. Mario
  18. Once I get the interior put together I will be starting work on my IC. I'm still torn between tilting it like I have it mocked up and having both pipes run through the same hole, but for ease of install, I might go Antman's route. Right now my air filter is directly behind the headlight casing. I bet if I build a box or a heat shield it will be just as good as having it outside. Mario
  19. I think Eastwood sells different colors of radiator paint that is supposed to conduct heat pretty good. Might want to look into that too. Mario
  20. Oil pressure wise: The gauge might be good, but I had erratic reading on mine when I got it. It was the soldering in the cables that bridge the two PCBs. I just took them off and bridged the connections with new cables and solder. Works like a charm, original clock keeps time perfectly too. Mario
  21. The pics are in my gallery. Don't mind the clothes hanger on the bottom, it was just to hold the IC in place while I moved it around. In this config there is just enough space for a 90 deg elbow on the far side to bring both pipes through the same hole. I really like the idea of a bar and that might be an easy way to hold it firmly in place. Mario
