  1. Google it, I've heard about this on other forums. Apparently its a scam. Mario
  2. Yep, saw it on Top Gear too. Anyone see the one with the crazy orange TVR? I'd much rather get that, and I'd be able to afford it sooner (haha, yea right). Mario
  3. Does anyone know if there is a lot of lag running a turbo from 2 cylinders in a small engine? I've always pondered this. Looks cool, post the thread! Mario
  4. I think you get spark every time the voltage grounds on the neg side of the coil. The wire from the base of the distributor should be the condensor wire. That should go to the (+) side of the coil. If you are 100% sure the wiring is right, and still no spark, do the HEI gating test. If that works, then something toasted inside the MS box (happened to me, easy repair). Hope you get it, Mario
  5. The coil is a switched power source. It should always have power as soon as the key is on start or ON. This is how the output should look: Black White (BW) wire connected to coil + HEI module connected to coil + (as in the schematic) coil (+) is connected to a condenser condenser black wire then connects to the base of the distributor coil (-) is only conected to the HEI module as in the schematic "G" is FIDLE The BW wire provides 12 volts to the coil when the ignition switch is turned on. Mario
  6. ET lets you use whatever sensor you have specs for. You can use the coolant or CHTS now because we have all the specs. Mario
  7. What source is this? I wired mine using all the existing EFI relays. Also, do ANY led's flash when you put the key in the ON position? The injector(+) are ALWAYS hot from the factory, in a ZX they are at least. Since the coil is getting hot, I have a feeling that the ignition part is wired up wrong. Could you describe your wiring? If the factory relays and harness are still in the car, I would recommend using it. If not, the relay board might be a good investment. I have attached the wiring diagram for the factory ECCS from the FSM, hope that helps, Mario
  8. All that work and they trash it? WTF?! Waste of time, but entertaining. Mario
  9. Yes, you put it in the mtCfg folder as well I think. Mario
  10. Looks great, so great in fact that you NEED to invest in a better camera. Those pics don't do it justice IMO. Mario
  11. I do believe the tranny's are interchangeable between a 350z and a 300zx. But, its not nearly as strong as the 300zx tranny (300hp seems to be the reliable limit, from what I've read). Mario
  12. If it's a stock (internallly) turbo motor, then 7.4:1 CR. If you use flat tops, its close to 8.5:1, with HIGH QUENCH. If I ever rebuild my motor, I'm probably going with this setup. Mario
  13. I can't find a characteristic's curve in the FSM. If you want to use this instead of the CHTS, just get 3 points by putting it in cold, tap, and hot water, and using these values for EasyTherm (try to get them pretty different from one another). Another thing is you can actually tap for a GM sensor in the stock location, and not have to worry about recalibrating. Its a little bigger then stock, but it's not all that noticeable. I would just use the CHTS. Mario
  14. Well, that is really rich, which could cause a miss. Now your gap is insane! A lot of people have recommended running .030" gap on boosted applications. I think you might be running too rich, then coupled with the gap, it might not be possible for your system generate a good spark, causing the miss. Mario
  15. Wow, great numbers! Can you post your timing map as well? Thanks, Mario
  16. When the light stays on, it will send a the signal, but it will only fire once. Maybe the short is in the spark output and you might have damaged some components. When I hooked mine up wrong and killed the spark output, the led would still flash, but it wouldn't send it out. I confirmed this by testing the HEI module, which turned out to be good. Maybe Tony D or Moby will chime in.... Mario
  17. For House, Trance, Trip Hop, etc, I used to listen to Monkey Radio on Winamp. Sometimes it's better then others, but that's pretty much all they play. I like RJD2 a lot, and have some Theivery Corp and Dzihan & Kamien CDs, which I like. Good study music IMHO I can't believe I forgot about Jurassic 5! Mario
  18. The stock 240sx one does. I believe some people get any pot type one and build an adapter plate for it. It just has to create enough voltage difference for MS to work with it, since it is tuneable. Mario
  19. Paypal is retarded, they managed to get me $7 off of an intercooler I bought on eBay. Hope you get your money back, Mario
  20. Website says "full IMSA fender kit", priced at 740 POUNDS. It's also the website that sells g-nose's for the 280zx. I think Frank280ZX knows more about this company. Mario
  21. Yea, but his is stroked to 3.0L. Still very awesome. Can't wait to see the numbers once it is running good. Mario
  22. Sweet! Thanks! I listen to a fair amount of underground hip-hop (RJD2, DJ Shadow, Lifesavas, pretty much all of the Quannum MCs, Aesop Rock, Blackalicious, a bunch of others), as well as a lot of classic rock. Mario
  23. Do you have pics of them (and on cars too)? I might be interested as well. Mario
  24. You get those from the actual "MegaManual" at megasquirt.info, in the wiring and sensors section. You can use the factory O2, even the IAT if you gut the afm, but the GM one is much easier. Mario
