Lazeum
It looks awesome indeed with full of quality parts & attention to details! I'd love to get more details about how you've processed the parts? 1- regarding poly parts you've cast. how it is done? 2- plating process. How did you clean the parts especially? I've got a kit Chrome VI in my garage, if you've seen Erin Brockovich movie, you'll understand why I'm not so enthusiastic with my garage solution
240zip
Are you sending the cad plating out to a shop or do you have an in-house (i.e. Caswell) set-up? Is it really cad or yellow zinc chromate (copy-cad)?
nix240z
Are you sending the cad plating out to a shop or do you have an in-house (i.e. Caswell) set-up? Is it really cad or yellow zinc chromate (copy-cad)? most of the larger items I sent off and got replated, and some I purchased. Most of the bolts and smaller items I did with the yellow zinc chromate. You cant tell a difference between the two types of plating jobs. The biggest Item I can plate with my 32amp rectifier is an item that has 225sq. inches (IE: the window roller unit) Edited February 16, 2013 by nix240z
240zip
I actually have a small NAPCO barrel plating device. It has a motor and a small barrel with these 'danglers'. It will fit into one of the larger Caswell plating buckets. My goal is to set it up for yellow chromate but I have all these materials for actual triple chrome (copper, nickle, chrome). But like others have stated, the lethality of the chemicals and fumes have kept me from doing it. I've used Denver Metal Finishing for large batches. As long as I media blast and them tumble polish the parts, I get good results for a low price.

nix240z
A bunch of new wire connections on the car, this is a sample... installed all NOS vent hoses today, refurbished fuel sending harness and ready for the dent and ding free fuel tank.... That is spot welds you see on the tank... re-chromed and plated fuel door knob... fuel cap replated and new hardware This is a prototype of a long lost part from 70 and 71 that I am making, needs a few things reworked but it is really close to the original. It is a steering rack expansion reservoir. Edited February 21, 2013 by nix240z

nix240z
steering rack expansion reservoir prototype test fit on the car ... On most 70-71 cars this piece is long gone, the hole on the rack is a 10mm x1.0..... On later cars the hole is only 8mm and do not have this piece from the factory... I believe just a 8mm bolt in hole.
1 tuff z
I was very careful to gently remove and clean/pretty the reservoir on the kids 71 when we refurbished the rack-believe this came only on the series I z's. Found the reservoir was in great condition and still a little pliable. Gotta ask how did you make it?

nix240z
what kind of fuel pump are you running? The fuel pump is a NOS Nissan factory fuel pump with mounting bracket, hoses, clamps, fuse connector for behind the dash. The pump is for the 73's that had vapor lock problems. Back from a Vegas trip and ready to work on the car again....
