EvilC
So take a look at this link and tell me what you think? http://rockyauto.co.jp/stockcar/profile.cgi?page=0&key=FAIRLADY%20Z&sort_item=9&sort_mode=4&label=23&hor=3&max=4&tpl=search_f&width=100% One member here had his car sold a few months back and now it is for sale at 3 times the cost with Rocky Auto's stickers all over it and claimed to build it. I guess after the they were called out on it, SpeedHunters came back and said the owner mentioned it was bought and being resold. Here is the SpeedHunters link: http://www.speedhunters.com/2013/04/mixing-it-up-spotlighting-necs-2013/ For sale ad of that car on HybridZ: http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/98624-1971-240z-v-8/ I can't read their site but some of the cars I know came from here are in articles in Japan with Rocky Auto all over them. I know we can't do anything about it besides discuss it really but after seeing the video of their shop and their work it made a lot of us thing they were turning out these great cars....lies! zero
Yeah, Cable's car is listed there as well, and I see a few cars that I recognize but don't remember the owners. This should be interesting...
OldAndyAndTheSea
Yeah, I'm pretty disappointed. I used to hold their shop in such high regard....I am now beginning to waver..... Give respect where respect is due, don't steal work.
rags
Unfortunately there is a lot of money to be made on the work of others. Seems to be happening more and more.
daddydonuts
Pretty sad, maybe a list of VINs could be kept on this site somewhere for reference. Zs are going to be a collectors item in the next decade...would be nice to have a free history report on built Zs.
Dudeboy
Clive, I can go back even further on the yellow car !!! Several years ago at the Motorsport Auto show in Cailfornia that I went to the car was red then !!! Rocky Auto and Common Snapper are two (shops) internet websites I look at from time to time to see what they are building. The domestic exporting has been going on for a while with hot-rods and low-riders. But, to make the claim of building ???? This will be interesting to see as time pass. I only thought clones were a part of the Muscle car american iron classics, NOPE, Honor is dead in japan and it's the land of Potato and Rap music now. 73s30t
Honor is dead in Japan because one shop may not be on the up and up? Let me tell you last time I was there honor was very much alive. Much more so then here I might add, they can't hold a candle to the underhanded practices of shops stateside. Owning nice cars here is tough, Clive, Will, Joe etc.. make it look easy haha. I grit my teeth every time I see a pothole too late to avoid. I hit one today while driving towards the setting sun that popped my hood.
