Bartman
Found this on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-LEATHER-CENTRE-CONSOLE-ARMREST-SKIN-COVERS-FITS-DATSUN-260Z-280Z-2-2-74-78-/351411917054?hash=item51d1c850fe:g:4~0AAOSw3xJVZt9c&vxp=mtr But it states for 260Z and 280Z (not 240Z). There is a write-up on the leather dash cover, but I don't see anything about this console cover. Anyone have any experience with this? What is the difference between a 260Z and a 240Z center console? The image looks the same as the console in my 240Z.
Nelsonian
In it's title it states "FITS DATSUN 260Z 280Z 2+2 74-78" for a 2+2 which I think would be the difference from 2 seater, but may be wrong.

Yes, it does say that - and it may well be different. I sent the seller a question, so we'll see what they say.
RB26powered74zcar
He sells several different interior items. I bought a leather shift boot and emergency brake boot in Red stitch a couple years ago, and they still are in great cond. I wouldn't hesitate to buy again from them... Bartman
The seller replied saying if it looks the same it will fit. I'm going to do some more investigation...
Zetsaz
240z and early 260z consoles were different from the late 260z/280z consoles IIRC. 240z: 280z:
ryant67
To further confuse matters, the series 1 console was also a little different from the series 2 console. Different ash tray location, different fuse box cover, and some other things.

Cheesymamba
It looks like they have another one for the 240z Center console http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-STITCH-CENTER-CONSOLE-TRIM-LEATHER-SKIN-COVERS-FITS-DATSUN-240Z-70-73-/391323450610?hash=item5b1cb1fcf2
OldAndyAndTheSea
Man, these things are neat. My 260 may be getting some of these - when I get around to getting to that car. In the meantime I'm buying the hand brake slip cover for the 240. Some very affordable alternatives - I can dig it.
Bartman
Perfect, thanks for the link! I will be getting the dash cover, glove box cover and hand brake cover as well!
Bob_260
It has been 4 months since the last post. Did anyone ever buy one of these covers and install it? Any comments? Updates?

Bob_260
How does it look? Initial impression?
Bartman
I finally began the installation process by doing some repairs to my console. The cover looks like it should fit well and will easily allow for customization, like whether or not you want to have an opening for the choke lever. calZ
It looks like there is some overhang on the armrest compartment area. Do you think there's enough stretch in the leather to cut some relief and fold it down without leaving big gaps? Bartman
Yes, there is some overhang that could be folded down into the recess - but it will only go down maybe 1/8 to 1/4 of inch or so. I'm putting the lid back on, so I will leave it as is.
