AydinZ71
Clean work man! Very impressed. Great job! Doesn’t seem like you got any heat warpage. A real accomplishment on rotsun steel.

Exposed
Work has slowed down abit so currently have my sundays back! Got started on the front fender. Did a quick mock up with tape and installed my new turn signal then started laying out some lines on some sheet metal. The plan is to try to have the front fender blend back into the orginal fender and the door, fingers crossed i dont have the remake this peice a whole bunch of times. I ended up notching out the one sections for the turn signal and folding the metal back. After taking another look at it im not to sure I like the cut out section. Might decide to remake it and go for something that feels more fluid. Thoughts? opinions?
Nelsonian
I'm not following this. Is the intent to create a fender vent?
Exposed
@Nelsonian yes that was the idea. Feel as though it isnt flowing well though, might finish the panel then just snip that section out.
Nelsonian
Okay now I see what your going after. I have come up with a fender vent option for my build that I'm still on the fence about. I had bought a set of used FD3s RX7 fender vents and had them blended into the front Ztrix fiberglass subtle Z fenders. Still trying to get visually used to them, but ultimately want to vent hot under hood air as much as possible.
Exposed
Another long weekend down and a bit more finished on the Z. Passenger side panel remade again... still need to adjust for spacing and give it abit more shape.
Exposed
Slowly plugging away. Hopefully this is the last bit of rust left on the car.... A lot still needs to be cut away and remade. The door skin and driver side frame is up next.
Jboogsthethug
Great work as always man! Keep that up! I want to get back to working on my Z. We are selling our house and buying a fixer upper so it might be stagnant for a few months while I finish that up. I'll rely on you for inspiration! Exposed
@JboogsthethugThanks! I know it can be hard to find time. I'm hoping to have it outside of the shop sometime this year, glad its winter here for 8 months, gives me a bit more time to work on it 😅
Exposed
Filler panel for the driver side and remade a wider skin for the rocker panel. Drilled out a couple holes and welded a nut at the front and back of the rocker panel to hold down the new skin. Pretty happy with how its turning out, need to start on the door soon. Exposed
Small update from this weekend. Passenger side is getting welded up. Having some issues with symmetry but think I'm going to just leave it as is and run with it.
AydinZ71
Looks good! you will likely be using a thin section of body filler at those lap joints anyways, so no need to be perfect
Exposed
hopefully I wont need as much filler as the last guys 😅
