So, I have been a long time Megasquirt guy. I have been in the Megasquirt community since 2003. I am not leaving the Megasquirt community at all, but I am looking at a new brand of do it yourself type ecu. I was introduced to Speeduino about a month ago.

I have picked up a 0.3 board component kit and the Ardunio board for about $150 (I already had the map sensor.)

Bench tests look great. I am able to use Tunerstudio, and looks like autotune will work on this as well. Although the build is not on this thread, I will be testing this out on a turbo e34.

I was looking to see if any other Hybridz members had tried this out, and if they had any pointers.

Looks great! I've found in recent years that megasquirt is pretty darn expensive for what it is. Not sure any members have dabbled with this, but I'm sure you can get some help from us on generic trouble shooting. Good luck, and I look forward to seeing your progress!

How is the project going AkRev?

I am collecting parts for my Speeduino build this winter, still trying to figure out if I will be able to run semi-sequential off of just the distributor set up as a cam sensor.

I think you can if you use the diyauto distributor wheel insert but I think you have to have a ZX distributor for it to work. I ended up just getting this: http://datsunworks.com/page3/page4/

and will be using LS coils wired up for wasted spark and will wire up my injectors to fire the same as the coils.

I've just finished a Speeduino 0.4.3c ignition only install on my car.

It uses a 36-1 crank damper trigger wheel and a TPS with a Bosch clone wasted spark coil pack and igniter setup.

Probably about £250 all in but could be done cheaper I'm sure.

What settings did you use to get spark? I'm not getting signal from the vr. I don't think I feel that we don't have the settings in tunerstudio correct.

Thank you jonbill! Yeah I've got a 36-1 wheel with a ford escort 2 wire VR sensor with the signal wire shielded and in it's own harness. The coils are wasted cop in 3 banks of 2. in the next day or 2 I'm going to double check the continuity of the wires for the sensor and if that's good then i'm going to crack open the speedy and make sure that the jumpers are correct for VR.

I dunno what an accel 300  is so can't help, but I bet someone on the speeduino forum would know.

I abandoned the accel 300, and used a 4-pin HEI module. So far things look interesting. Im able to get spark using the 280zx turbo distributor set up (spinning with a drill) . But i have to go through everything to again. It looks promising. I will be running everything on the bench, including the engine. At least that's the plan.

I saw on the Speeduino forum that you have the HEI working.

Sorry I can't answer your question about the zxt CAS, although I suspect the info is here on hybridz.org somewhere.

not a problem. i expected the speeduino to be a learning process. i'm at the novice level. i think it's just a function of time.
