calZ
I'm also silently watching. I don't have much to add other than saying really nice work and that I get happy whenever I see you've updated the thread.
seattlejester
Ah makes sense, it would be troublesome to really try and optimize flow with that style as an after thought really. Keep up the good work!
boosted300
Some more intercooler pics...
boosted300
A look at the new sheet metal from the inside... The thinness of the sheet metal made welding a little more challenging than usual...
boosted300
A look at the driver side... After a some Eastwood rubberized rust encapsulator to tidy things up a bit before the next step...
boosted300
I probably should have stripped the trans-tunnel of the factory material but....ugh...I just wasn't up to it...
boosted300
More mocking up, this time with the piping and wiggins clamps...and daydreaming of the finished product...
boosted300
The problem with making things pretty is that it accentuates the things that are not... The Greddy intake manifold...normally very attractive on its own...now stood out like a dirty thumb...
boosted300
I considered powdercoating it, but decided instead to have it polished first which would look great and still give me the option to powdercoat later if I wanted, or decided I just didn't like the polished look. Doug...obsessed with the details...refused to let me polish it as-is. He got rid of all the extraneous metal, leaving a more streamlined overall look... And, of course, if I polish the intake manifold, the only thing left in the engine bay not cleaned up/polished would be the compressor housing...can't have that!
