driftz240
cincinnati, fairfield area.... we outta have a z car meet
Michael
Not a bad idea…. We did have a mini-meet at Denny’s house in Wapakoneta around two years ago. My car is in its “final†stage of construction – currently at Denny’s, in fact. Conceivably it would be finished by the end of the summer – at which point I’d be delighted to host a Z meet at my house (southeast of Dayton). nienberg.11
My towns are under my avatar. If you all have an Ohio Z meet, count me in.
MrFurious
Wow, lots of Ohio guys here! I'm just west of Lima myself. Don't presently have a Z but I'm working on it, so if any of you know where there's a solid 70 to early 74 sitting that I could pick up cheap I'd be very interested. My first car was a black and gold 71 240Z with a 327 SBC and TH350. Went through 4 rearends the first year before I finally broke down and put a 4-link and GM 12-bolt under it (which cost a small fortune I might add). Car was great at the stip with this setup, but it sucked as a road car.
deja
Y'all are making me homesick. I was raised in Cincinnati (Greenhills), worked in Dayton for years, then moved to Cambridge Ohio before moving to Atlanta 15 years ago. Hard to believe there are that many Z owners in Ohio

78zlt1
Technically I live in Indiana (right over the boarder) But I work in Springdale (north side of Cincy) so I tell everyone I'm from Cincinnati cause they have no Idea where Lawrenceburg is. I've been to Lawrenceburg, there was a drag stip there way back in the 60s, no clue if its still there. And Springdale is right next door to Greenhills where I went to high school. jimzdat
I live in Belpre, OH now--worked in Lawrenceburg for a while (at the power plant in the middle of town) so I at least know where it is Unfortunately, Belpre is close to nothing else in Ohio--I'm about an hour and a half from Columbus
deja
Lawrenceburg has a racetrack mostly dirt/sprint car races, ( no dragstrip anymore) Small world deja..... Yeah it is. Wish I could remember the name of the drag strip. Had a blast there watching Ford Thunderbolts and Sox & Martin run their Hemi. Later when I got my first new car I blew up my '66 Sunbeam Tiger on that strip. Little Ford 260 didn't like missing 3rd gear, I saw the tach go way past 6000 just before the engine started floating valves, the rest was real ugly, LOL. We also used to run at some small airport in Cincinnati but that closed after some kids wrecked during a race and died.
Michael
It seems to me that in actuality there are very few HybridZ people in Ohio! This is a heavily-populated state with a large automotive/machining industry and a vibrant do-it-yourselfer tradition, so one would expect car hobbyists at every corner. But between the declining economy and the preponderance of interest exclusive to American cars, interest in Z’s - hybrid or otherwise - is very narrow. Also consider what we mean by “local”: the distance from Cincinnati to Toledo is about the same as from Northern Virginia to New York City - yet VA and NYC guys would not consider themselves to be from the same area! Anyway, I still say that we should have a southwest Ohio HybridZ meet - conceivably at my house. Any interest?
