80LS1T
I need to buy a helmet to use for circle track racing. It needs to be SA2000 or better. Where can I find a good deal on one? Thanks, Guy
2003z
I sell products through this company. See if there is anything you like there, and I will get you the best price I can. (lower than their advertised pricing) http://www.cdoc.com/
80LS1T
Thanks for the offer but those are a little out of my price range. I am looking for something under $200 with an SA2000 or better rating. I didnt really see anything on that page that fits this description but thanks for the offer! Mike C
Get a copy of Grassroots Motorsports. They have some vendors that should be able to help you. Besides, if there is any ONE thing in your life where price is no object: helmets.
JMortensen
I disagree. I'd rather have a house than a really well designed $300,000 helmet. To answer the question though: http://www.racerwholesale.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=

wingnutthehutt
I had a $1.5m Arai once, but then I highsided my bike at Willow Springs and now it's only worth $750,000. Hahaha! Seriously though, $200 is cheap for a Snell certified helmet. Check out HJC, http://www.hjchelmets.com or KBC, http://www.kbchelmets.com They will have something in your price range for a fair quality helmet. KBC is the largest motorcycle helmet manufacturer in the world; they make most of the private label brands in the motorcycle industry. 80LS1T
The KBC TK8 seems like a good deal but when it says "Meets or Exceeds All major worldwide safety standards and tests" does that mean that its atleast a SA2000 rating? I am unfamiliar with the rating system and I can't seem to find out if this helmet is up to the level I need? Any help on this would be great! JMortensen
I doubt it. Motorcycle helmets are built to Snell M approval, not Snell's SA approval. That's what makes helmet shopping so hard. You can't just run down to the motorcycle shop and try one on, because they have the wrong rating. I'd call them before you order.
wingnutthehutt
The TK-8 is a good helmet for the dollar, but I don't think it's SA approved. Call KBC, or call Cycle Gear and make them do the legwork for you. http://www.cyclegear.com will tell you where the closest one is, and then you can pester them all you want. It's lots of fun. (I used to work there.)

Sometimes, if you look closely at the rules, you can use either/or.

wingnutthehutt
After reading about that helmet on their site, that sounds like a pretty fair price. $20 under retail and only $1 for S/H. A Fiberglass and Kevlar shell is going to make it strong and springy, but a little bit lighter than a regular Polycarbonate or pure fiberglass helmet. Tim240z
http://www.helmetsetc.com/ Seems to have the best prices that I have seen. If you think helmet shopping is difficult, try find a snell test certified helmet for a child (6). DOT is dime a dozen, but Snell is like hen's teeth!!! clarkspeed
Racer Wholesale has some SA2000 helmets on sale now. I'm sure some other vendors are doing the same. These guys also have some good prices: http://www.discoveryparts.com/
