mario_82_ZXT
HA-Ha! I was totally going to post the Darkness! I know I'm going against the grain here on the Hybridz Rock Show, but ever since my band moved away, I got really into turntablism. This guy is one of the best there ever was (although he's not dead or retired or anything, he's just that good):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKD0dJvaPOU I've also been really into these guys lately, and I've been after Terry (Corzette) to find me some cd's because they aren't available in the states as of right now. Kind of a J-rock garage band, but I like it a lot. Any anime fans out there would know them from the FLCL soundtrack: this video is kind of bootleg, I guess this came from some Dance Dance Revolution type game, but it's the studio version of one of their songs to give you an idea of what they sound like on the records. And speaking of 3-piece bands and a lot of transitions, check out Hi Standard, another one of my favorites: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPZD8-poPMg I really like the Pillows!!! Got into them from FLCL too! One of my friends in Tucson (a girl from Japan) has almost all of their CDs. Good stuff good stuff... Now, I love Zeppelin and Wolfmother is freaking me out how much they sound like them... I have their CD and I really like it. Mario

Z-TARD
Awesome..... I can't wait for G3 to do another tour. Maybe someday they'll be able to talk EVH into going on tour with them. Speaking of EVH, look at this train wreck. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kX9qcggRo18 Yes, it's David Lee Roth..... I think I remember reading in the bible somewhere that this is one of the signs of the Apocalypse. Mike
Z-TARD
Looks like Eddie Van Halen has been recording some new solo stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpACZS0vSO4 Is it just me, or is he starting to look a lot like Iggy Pop lately? Gollum
No Doubt X Save Ferris = The Vincent Black Shadow! (this song is catchy as all get-out...) Yea, the whole song I couldn't help think "man, this is where no doubt would have been if they'd had stayed on track and not tried to stay mainstream. Oh well, now we're just left with yet another void filled buy more pop crap. Oh the wonderful life of a musician..

veritech-z
There's some more videos featuring Q-bert. he used to compete in the DMC world championships with Mix Master Mike (the current DJ for the Beastie Boys) until they retired. Also they were both members of the Invisibl Skratch Piklz for awhile. Then they both went solo.

COZY Z COLE
So I had worked for the telephone company (GTE) in ILL. for 16 years and was "messing" with 2 married women and was busted so I made a quick move to CA. Blue Oyster Cult's- Burnin' For You - takes me back to that time. Great song and the video fits my situation at the time... I offer no apologies..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEDwJhCRHN4 Still alive and don't know why.... LARRY

JMortensen
Here is a new band that has a Led Zeppelin/Black Sabbath/'70's rock type sound... from Austrailia. They've got some pretty good songs.. lots of transitions in their songs...and I usually don't like any newer music.. Listen until at least 1 minute into it and you will see what I mean.. here is another one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99bslemvlwU I saw them at a club in Seattle, maybe a year and a half ago, nobody knew who they were. There were literally less than 500 people there. I think it was $7 per ticket. My sister-in-law is a music nut and she found out about them and that's the only reason I was there. They were AWESOME live, and we were right at the stage, directly in front of the singer leaning on his speaker. I have their original EP and their album, and the recorded stuff is so so, but the live show kicked ass! I think the live show is a lot looser and more stonerrock-ish. (which I like). They're coming back to town, $35 a ticket in a large venue, and I'm not going to go. I have a feeling that the show from the 2nd balcony 1/2 way back just wouldn't be as enthralling. But if you like Sabbath and Zeppelin, it's worth checking them out live when they come to your area for sure.
veritech-z
These guys were one of the best live bands I've ever seen...too bad they broke up. Coolie ranks, the lead singer totally destroyed his vocal chords, and I'm pretty sure the drummer died...
COZY Z COLE
It's been a year and a half since my Dear Kay passed away. This one's for you... Pink Floyd- Wish You Were Here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hj1L5jxlY4U RIP Kay...... Fleetwood Mac- Landslide. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-4BojWdjRE LARRY
bschiltz
Dude, Wolfmother kicks ass! These guys are awesom, too. Kind of bad sound on this vid tho: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hoc37ZUk2Fc one more: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BobPjaGwXrM Another good band from Finland, called Lordi. They won Eurovision ("American Idol" for all the european countries) earlier this year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqQhPcCzV60
JMortensen
Yeah, I had tickets to see Fu Manchu a couple months back, they played with Corrosion of Conformity and Alabama Thunderpussy. My buddy kept saying "One more beer" and we ended up getting there half way through CoC. I was pretty bummed. CoC was SO loud that even I couldn't take it. I didn't bring any earplugs so I had to stand there with my fingers in my ears. Got to hear a couple good songs, but that night was kind of a bust. Just saw these guys with their new lead singer on the 24th. You can only imagine what this concert was like in Seattle... New singer was great, BTW! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jOqXrfhBRQ Not familiar with Lordi. Kinda seems a little gimmicky. I do like a couple songs from the Euro stoner rock band Honcho that I've downloaded from http://www.stonerrock.com, but when I tried to search the internet for them I found that Honcho is also the name of a gay porn magazine... http://www.stonerrock.com/store/info.asp?item_num=ATH-1188 Here's another one I like that I found on that site, Halfway to Gone, I think these guys are from MA or somewhere on the East Coast there... http://www.stonerrock.com/store/info.asp?item_num=ATH-
