I have a few sets of original amber tail lights, N.O.S. The are the good stuff. If anyone wants a set let me know. They are kind of pricey but add that final finish.

Con Brio, you mentioned a guy in netherlands for those rear lights. Do you have any contact info? I have a few sets of amber light but no red as you do.

Thanks.

Someone has just pointed this out to me.

If someone on this board buys it can they contact me - it would be great to have some company during my own build.

I spotted this model on e-Bay a few days ago. Interesting spider shape. I'm not sure if it's based on an actual vehicle. I recall something about a member of ZZ Tops having a Ferrari 250 converted into a GTO spider configuration. I must say I like the pre-Kamm tail.

I have been working on a 78 280Z Vello Rossa 250 GTO conversion for a couple of months now. What a sweet car! Question: Can I post here, or is there a different thread??

Comment on tail lights and turn signals. I have been mimicking the original 250 GTO on everything except the convertible top, and I have recently located the tail lights (real damn close to the original) and have them installed. They came from California Import Parts and was able to get 2 red, 2 amber, and 2 white for 69 bucks. I sh*t canned the internals and went to Advanced Auto parts and purchased standard GM 2 filament sockets. I drilled holes in the tub to accept the sockets, then fiber glassed the sockets to the back of the tub. I then used the bezels and lens from the lights I purchased from California Imports and screwed them in place. They are very very close to the original. If someone tells me how to load pictures I will upload to show you.

Hey mudjr12. Welcome to the thread. Yeah...you're more than welcome here. Nice work on the Vela Rossa. This is a great sight and source for info on your project. The girls and guys are very helpful. Keep us posted with regular updates and more pics/details. Kind regards.

Thanks for the info. I am still looking for tear drop shaped front side marker lights, any info would be appreciated.

Also in the process of building chrome bezels around head light lenses, what a bear. I wont install them if I can't get them right. I am going to try and contact the VR engineering people, or who ever is running that gig now a days and see if they still have any lying around.

Hey Velo Rossa Builders,

I need to get some trunk weatherstrip for my V/R and I wanted to know if anyone could advise before I go through the trial and error thing of ordering various molding(s) until I find one that works.

It needs o be flexible enough to bend in the tight inner radius at the corners.

Please help!

Thanks.

Here is a D shaped gasket I used on the Cobra, If I can find a little bit of it, I'll try it around the Velo Rossa trunk lid.

Thanks Staledale, please let me know how it works. I'm a little concerned about how the D shape will bend in the corners; I don't want it to crease. I was looking at this stuff too: http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/tf-Browse/s-10101/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2008663/p-2008663/N-111+10201+600003824/c-10101

ZerrariGTO here is a picture of that stuff, I tried to glue it to my old V/R trunk. You can see it goes on real nice no kinks or twists, and it is just right for the height of the trunk lid. The top of the lid is level with the rest of the panel. I cut a peice for you to see the profile.

The stuff you showed is for inside of the door jamb where the inner and outter metal meet. It is a harder plastic for edges.

I forgot to ask; what are the dimensions of that weatherstrip? Can you give me height and width?

Thanks.
