cockerstar
Planning on shaving the rear bumper while you're at it? I see that it's marked Have you considered shaving the engine bay of all the holes you won't be needing?
MoNkEyT88
Lol, the rear bumper indentation is already cut out, it's just held in by whatever piece in the inside of the car.. Just haven't got around to cutting it out yet. I'm going to be making flares for the car, and then making a mold to replace most of the rear 1/4. Because it's pretty dinged up anyway. Then I'll cut out most of it, and fasten the carbon piece to the body. 1/4's like the Spirit Garage S30.
Clifton
I love those flares.
ab0z
Keep up the good work! My car will look like yours in a month or 2 if I can get the tools I need. I'll need all the inspiration and motivation I can get!

MoNkEyT88
Okay, I found today that this car weighs 2560lbs. -LQ9 V8, LS6 heads, MS3 cam, LS7 clutch/pressure plate. 2.5" dual exhaust. -T56 transmission. -R200 diff/LSD -(2)Kirkey Aluminum seats/harness's -Dash with autometer gauges -19gal fuel cell w/6 gallons -Maxima rear disc -Ground control coil over/koni 5 way adjustable shocks. -Sport max 15x8 wheels w/235 tires. -Reinforced subframe rails. -Optima batt. -Autopower Roll bar So, this car has 420whp, and weighs 2560lbs, so it should run a 10.6X 1/4 mile. It needs a full rear suspension tune up with new bushings, and some other issues straightened out. My friend is working on redoing the wiring already. I plan on finishing my other project, installing the 12 point cage etc.. and then swapping the goodies over from this 240z.
rturbo 930
What do you plan on doing with the 240z once everything is swapped over? Swap on your old parts? Sell as a shell? Scrap it? Just curious.
MoNkEyT88
I dont know. I wouldn't scrap it, because that would be a waste. But, it's a lot easier to weld a cage in, and do all the work on my 260z, which was blasted, and then swap all the parts over, and kind of start fresh. That way I can't drive this one between then and now.

MoNkEyT88
Passenger side engine mount bolt! Nut is backed off.. Driver side engine mount.. NO NUT! Pass side rear brake caliper. Bolt backing out, stopped because of brake line. Also, electrical gremlins; 1. Plug to throttle motor came loose, throttle unresponsive. 2. Turned on Fan, killled all electrical power. (Wiggled wires under the dash until I found one that had the short.)
MoNkEyT88
I bet the brakes would work better if they were bolted on.. This looks safe.
