jeffer949
Alrighty then. So SSAC got back with me and the OFFERED split the cost of the manifold. So that will make this a lot easier on the money front. Here is the email i sent him and then the reply. OK, HOW ABOUT THIS WE WILL SPLIT IT WITH YOU GUYS, AND THEN WE WERE ARE DONE, YOU CAN HAVE THE MANIFOLD BACK. GO AHEAD AND BUY IT, AND THEN REQUEST 1/2 FROM US VIA PAYPAL - CAN U PUT THE CAD FILE ON CD ROM.? And then ship the CAD file to me ? Thanks Sorry about the caps - wasnt looking Let me know if this sounds OK Joe jeff walter wrote: > Ok we have been having some development in the group buy. JSM
Jeff, is Joe on the same page as we think? What CAD file? Is that Just for the flange itself?
jeffer949
Ya He is. I just got another e-mail back from him. So ill just burn the cad file for the flange to cd and then ill ship it to them. And then once they get the manifold they will give us a price. Its all stated in the e-mail below. HEY Yeah , OK = if you can do 2 copies of the CD ROM that would be great as we use a factory in Stone Mountain GA I wouldnt know about the cost on that - till the engineer measures it, and weighs it, and all that Doesnt it need a downpipe then ? since its an upgrade ? Or do end users have to figure that out on their own ? OK Thanks Looks like we are getting somewhere huh !

VinhZXT
I think it's a bad idea to tell them how much you bought the header for. They might use this price to come up with their own price comparable to this price. IMO. The header should be on its way out to John in a day or 2. I need to find thick cardboard to pack this header. jgkurz
Update: Fedex shows an estimated delivery of 8/16. I will be out of town most of next week but will try and post a summary of the headers overall condition with pictures by Sunday 8/24. jgkurz
will this go onto stock setup? No. At a minimum, you will need buy or fabricate new intake and exhaust plumbing. That is the short answer. Please let us know if you have specific questions.

Globerunner513
wow i just read through this entire thread. I totally forgot about all this from when it started. Depending on final price, of course, I would be interested in one as well.
wigenOut-S30
I did too.. Just read through all I have missed.. I would most likely be in on this as well!!.. I can also throw alittle money toward the initial cost of the header from Vihn. I am really exited to see some pics of the header bolted onto a S 30 and how it looks with the steering rack and motor mount..

WizardBlack
Oh my... SS Autochrome.... Good luck with fitment and cracks. I guess since you have to make your own parts to fit around this piece fitment aught not to be bad. LOL. Be sure to budget having the flanges machined flat at a machine shop. proxlamus©
everyone says SS autochrome has terrible products and cracks... yet i've only seen ONE thread on some honda forum with a cracked manifold that could of been caused by using an exhaust system with no flex pipe. I'd like to see more bad examples of SS autochrome products before people start smashing on the company.
jeffer949
I heard that they had problems with them originally because they wherent braced properly. I mean they where hanging huge turbos of these things of course they are going to crack with out any bracing but i think that can be expected of all manifolds. They have since started bracing them and i know of alot of honda guys around town that run them and they haven't had any issues with them. Slow_Old_Car
Last manifold i saw from them was for a 2JZ, and the blending at the turbo flange was god awful. For the price they are a good starting point for someone willing to clean it up, reinforce the welds, work the part over basically... but there is ALOT of work to be had, especially if your design is a rather complex one. Kennysgreen280zt
I posted a link earlier in the thread to my SS autochrome header fitment on the RB25det. it wasnt great. but it was cheap lol
