m4xwellmurd3r
I just noticed now that you have your seat in there, but that shifter is REALLY far back!
(goldfish)
Hmmm bullet proof lexan firewall? it would be kind of heavy, since the stuff is an inch thick or more, but it's strong enough to stop a hand gun! It would make a sufficient firewall incase something went wrong lol depending on the stuff, 1/4 inch would do.
rustrocket
actually, the seat isn't mounted, it's just loosely placed. it'll be much more upright and further back. Shifter position should be fine for anybody 6 feet or taller, but shorter might be questionable, might have to put blocks on the pedals
m4xwellmurd3r
I see what the problem was. From the back angle, it looks like the shifter is directly next to the side shoulder part of the seat, meaning that if you sat down, the shifter would be at your hip. but taking a closer look at the other angles, it's in a spot you can reach. damn those optical illusions
Jesse OBrien
This project is nasty! Why's it squirreled away in non-tech?
rustrocket
Not much progress, unfortunately. All the 5 lug stuff is on there, control arms made. Wheels are on there, definitely need flares! Waiting on the front end to be finished.

PETEW
That is going to be one incredible car! I can not believe the amount of work you have into it so far. I am always amazed at the work some guys on here can do. I wish I had the skills you do. Great job!
DavyZ
^^^ My sentiments exactly. This project just rocks and I'm impressed by your abilities and your checkbook Davy
essdeezee
This post is awesome, especially because I am about to embark on a project using almost exactly the same hardware. About your coilovers... What resources did you use to determine spring rate and shock type/valving? Also, what did you end up paying (if you don't mind me asking) for your suspension and steering bits?
Gollum
Lookin' better and better. Keep at it man! I love these updates.
rustrocket
Hey guys. Unfortunately, i can't take credit for the actual fab work, just some of the design and all of the cost. As far as the coilovers go, the rears are from an s14, and i think will probably be a little stiff, as i think they're about 250 lbs/in. The fronts are 225. I dont think we had a formula, although i know he ran it on suspension program 3d. Sorry i couldnt be more help.
Jesse OBrien
Hey man, I'm going to use these newer pics to give the flare mock-ups some more tries. The last few just didn't work at all. It's looking great, but won't you have binding on the front suspension? Are you going to add wheels spacers or something on the fronts? Gollum
I'm grinning ear to ear all over again. Thanks. BTW.. shhh, don't tell anybody... but I think if I do a V8 swap (which i really want to do in the next 5 years or less) that it's going to be a LS2 w/T56...
