Geez, did i miss a step in the posting process to be taken seriously? how many pics do i have to post before my " legit" meter is green.. Sigh.. I want to share so much.. aerospace fasteners, solid modeled parts and fabrication thereof, higher end materials and jacketing, kynar, tefzel, jetnuts, real racecar parts... but i guess im just on the wrong forum...

anyways, heres my crap...

Racecar I was involved with for 2 seasons ( maintained this and a twin car, also maintained two previous cars for the same company) Actually crew chief'd this car for Robby Unser when he tried his hand at drifting, Put a Gforce T-5 Dog box in it and other crap, broke the box, visited G-force, saw their production house, etc.

350Z pro car made for FormulaD competition, was displayed at PRI, etc.

(notice the kinsler check valve at the top) this plumbing was done in 2 days for display at PRI and SEMA.

Hmmm... about this criticism...

I make a lot of stuff myself. It is to serve a utilitarian purpose, not to blow my wad on pretty bling-bling.

There is always someone who has more money and more time to make up parts from exotic materials with screen printing and placards from aerospace industies. That's just fine for a multi-million $$$ race industry leader. It becomes bling when you see it on someone's hot-rod or amature race car.

I am a professional wiring fabricator. I assemble all sorts of high-$$$ connectors every week. I don't use very many of them in my project cars though. That is money wasted that could go into so many other things to make the car faster or the driver safe and comfortable. I am not a millionare with a collection of rare and blingy vehicles that serve no purpose except as dust catchers.

I cannot hope but notice that the critic uses common Deutsch connectors instead of the metal bodied CMT-style sealed aircraft connectors with air-tight, bonded, and Tee-d silicone jackets covering 100% of the wires. I am APPALLED at the partial-spiral wrap of electrical tape on those wire bundles. How would you ever survive re-entry with that load of BS.

Easy John, are you referring to Red Bird's Bling? Just joking. But I agree with your comments about the installation above. I have had fuel starvation problems, usually happening after hard braking followed by a right had corner, i.e., turn one at VIR. I installed a .5 gallon surge tank on my firewall under the bracing. It's feed directly from the pump into the side, top fitting on the tank and then out the bottom to supply the fuel rail. I tested last month at Carolina Motorsports Park with no apparent starvation. I do have safety concerns due to having it in the engine bay and may move it to the rear whenever I decide the best way to fit it. Here are a couple of pictures of my installation. I did it as "blingless" as I could. (The black AN hose, "dangling" in the picture, is the turbo cooling line that I disconnected for some other project I'm attempting to complete.)

Super nice work! I was having left handed starvation problems hence the surge tank. The fitting on the main tank pointed towards the driver side, so left handers pulled fuel away from the pump inlet (even with a 4" deep sump!).

Now I have a fuel heating problem that appears after a long day of sessions. I'm hoping that pressurizing the surge tank a couple PSI will cure the pump cavitation problem that is causing air bubbles on the high pressure side.

It is a competition car (not street legal), not a trailer queen. I refer to it as a "25 footer". Any closer than that and it could get ugly.

you can see more uglyness here: http://s160.photobucket.com/albums/t177/psanders240/clubcar/

lol it was in reference to the 'pin-hole' that started the whole mess a while back. not really serious. :icon43:
