zx28
i have a 76 280, the doors are both broken and wont close so i figured i'd go ahead and improve the looks, so has anyone done a suicide or lambo door kit?? if anyone has please let me know how difficult it was or if you have any pics that would be awsome. i appreciate your time, thanks
TrumpetRhapsody
Uh... yeah don't do that please. Lambo doors belong only on modern sports cars, not classic cars IEHO (in everyone here's opinion). Suicide, maybe... but no.
m4xwellmurd3r
Ummm fix your broken doors. I'm sure fixing whatever is causing them not to close will be over 9000% easier and over 9000% better looking.
Administrators RTz Posted August 15, 2008 Administrators Share Posted August 15, 2008 ...has anyone done a suicide or lambo door kit??... or if you have any pics that would be awsome. I know nothing about this car, so don't ask
m4xwellmurd3r
yeah, that just doesn't look right on the Z
jeffer949
What rear spoiler is that on the red one?
duder280z
As far as looks are concerned, it's better than I expected. However, just looking at it, it seems like it would be a circus act trying to get in and out of the car (at least with that opening angle). Just fix the doors, any decent lambo kit is north of $1500 any way. There are cheap kits, but you get what you pay for (cheap kit = gay hinges and bad fit). Anything that's wrong with the doors can't be that bad or expensive. Just my .
Negafen
What if they were those roll forward lambo doors that end up parallel to the hood? Those'd make it pretty easy to get in. So, we're up in $3k now though.
aziza z
Looks better than I thought it would.
jbk240z
IMHO, lambo doors on a Z define the word hideous! Repairing your stock doors would be a 1000 times easier. I could be forced to say Rosanne Barr is hot, before I would ruin a Z with those doors! LOL!
Guest jdgomez
Just fix your doors and don't replace them with lambo or suicide doors. It really doesn't look good together in my opinion. _____________________ Blog by autopartswarehouse.com
SteelToad
I think the lambo doors look nice, even though they are highly impractical, and with the weight and size of the Z doors, they would need CONSTANT adjustments just to keep them fitting right. The car sits low enough that you're going to have to "dance" your way into the car. I like suicide doors as well, but on the Z, the seat back is right beside the door frame. You'd be putting your butt in the door hinge just to sit down, all while holding onto your window trim/pillar for balance. Take your doors off, and try getting in and out of the seat (on both sides) a couple dozen times with nothing to hold on to. You'll quickly find that the doors work best right where they are
Six_Shooter
My vote is suicide... They go on just about anything. Lambos only suit certain cars. I'll admit the picture of that read car the lambo doors do look better than I thought they would.

zdmz
I agree that there is just something wrong with lambo doors on a z car. If the doors are that bad you could weld them shut and climb in through the hatch. Just imagine a car with no door seam. It would smooth up the whole side of the car and improve the aerodynamics. cygnusx1
If you want the ultimate look, cut out about 6" into the roof line, weld it to the top of the doors and go "Gull Wing". I think Gull Wing is the sexiest and most useful door mod. I have never seen it on a Z. Go for it!
